Say what you will about Dr. Phil, but this time he might be right on the money. Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham appeared on his program to defend herself over her DUI arrest and pornographic film, but received no sympathy from the celebrity psychologist.

Abraham has been the subject one head-scratching scandal after another in recent months, despite the generally sympathetic situation she found herself in while on Teen Mom.

Since those days, she has been busted for DUI, and found herself at the center of a sex tape scandal, in which she requisitioned a film to be professionally made between herself and pornographic actor James Deen.

Deen leaked the truth behind the tape to the media, and Abraham, feeling betrayed, has criticized him for breaking her trust while demanding millions of dollars for their film.

That’s the gist of her story, and of her reasons for appearing on Dr. Phil, where the 21-year-old seemed prepared to gather sympathy over her situation.

But Dr. Phil wouldn’t bite.

“You have an incredible sense of entitlement, and when you don’t get your way, you get upset.” Dr. Phil told a shocked Abraham while his audience cheered him on.

“You’re pretty much perfect, aren’t you?” Dr. Phil asked.

“That’s what I strive to be,” Abraham shot back.

The two traded blows, and the conversation got quite heated until the end, when Dr. Phil largely dismissed her recent troubles as conundrums of her own design.

“You would argue with a fence post,” he said. “You have a chip on your shoulder, and you argue instead of being accountable.”

“I just think you’re being really negative,” Abraham scoffed.

What do you think? Is Farrah Abraham a victim, or is Dr. Phil correct about her? Either way, whatever lesson Dr. Phil tried to impart to Abraham, it didn’t seem to stick. The reality TV starlet tweeted Friday after her appearance:

Dr. Phil And Farrah Abraham Trade Blows Over Sex Tape, ‘Entitled’ Attitude [Video] is a post from: The Inquisitr

Bethenny Frankel and soon-to-be ex-husband Jason Hoppy paid a visit to divorce court this week.

The pair arrived separately at a New York City courthouse on Friday morning to begin hashing out the details of their divorce. Although Frankel was spotted without her wedding band, witnesses said Hoppy was still wearing his ring.

“[She looked] really tired [and] very, very thin,” a source told the folks at E! Online. The insider added that Hoppy was “tan, put together, sharp [and] well rested.”

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy pretty much avoided one another in the halls of the courthouse while waiting to address their pending divorce. The former Real Housewives of New York star did not acknowledge her husband while they waited for everything to begin.

At one point during the morning, the legal teams decided to work out some of the kinks in the hallway while they waited. The lawyers may have discussed some of the finer points, but Frankel and Hoppy did not speak to one another. Sources told People that Jason appeared frustrated, which caused him to pace the halls.

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy, accompanied by their respective legal teams, finally headed into the courtroom at around 12:30 pm.

Since the meeting was private, it’s unclear what went down behind closed doors. However, it’s believed the topic of conversation was the value of Frankel’s business ventures.

After discussing things with the judge, Frankel and Hoppy reportedly headed into a conference room together for around 40 minutes. Again, it’s unclear what the pair discussed. Both parties refused to comment on the divorce on their way out of the courthouse.

Last month, a source stated that Bethenny Frankel was upset that Jason was still wearing his wedding ring. She reportedly said it made “absolutely no sense” because the two had no plans to get back together.

The source added, “Bethenny thinks he’s doing it to garner sympathy and to appear as the wounded party. Jason told her he’s still wearing the ring so that their two-year-old daughter, Bryn doesn’t get confused.”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is clinging to life in a Boston hospital after being captured by Boston police and FBI on Friday.

The remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing — his brother Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police in the early morning hours on Friday — Dzhokhar was captured hiding in a boat near the scene of the shootout. The 19-year-old suspect is at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the same hospital where his brother died.

The FBI asked the hospital not to give updates on his condition, but it was reported that he was badly wounded and too weak to resist when he was captured. Police think Dzkokhar Tsarnaev was wounded in the gun battle with police Thursday night, and afterward retreated to a boat in the backyard of a Watertown home.

He may have been injured again after trading gunfire with officers who closed in as he remained hidden inside the covered boat.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is accused with his brother of planting bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon that exploded Monday afternoon, shattering glass and tearing off limbs. The explosion left three people dead and close to 180 injured.

An MIT police officer was killed Thursday night after the suspects were discovered near Watertown, and another transit police officer was shot and badly hurt in a rolling gun battle.

After his arrest Friday evening, crowds in Boston broke out into celebration, spilling into the streets with American flags and chants of “Let’s go Boston!”

Dzhokhar was discovered by the homeowner, David Henneberry, when he broke the police request to remain indoors so he could have a cigarette.

“He looked and noticed something was off about his boat, so he got his ladder, and he put his ladder up on the side of the boat and climbed up, and then he saw blood on it, and he thought he saw what was a body laying in the boat,” said Henneberry’s neighbor, George Pizzuto. “So he got out of the boat fast and called police.”

As he clings to life in the Boston hospital, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is being questioned without having Miranda rights issued to him. Law enforcement officials invoked the public safety exception in his case.

Stockton, CA – A high school teacher has been dismissed for attempting to build a porn empire from her school laptop.

A lot of teachers try to make some extra money on the side (heck, it’s how I ended up in writing full time), but for Heidi Kaeslin, a 37-year-old teacher formerly of Stockton’s Lincoln High School, that extra money was apparently meant to come from porn.

She didn’t seem to get very far into her empire, as she was busted after setting up several domains from her school laptop, one of which was mysluttyteacher.com (side note: A little surprised that wasn’t already taken).

A panel form the state Office of Administrative Hearings confirmed their decision to dismiss Kaeslin this week, saying that files they found on the school laptop were “pornographic, lewd, vulgar or repugnant.”

Some members also branded Kaeslin’s behavior “immoral.”

Kaeslin was a special education teacher and girls’ soccer coach, and had been employed at Lincoln since 2002. She got caught when her estranged husband told officials that the domain names were registered to her home.

She also allegedly had a partner in crime in retired cop Richard Fields who was employed at Lincoln as a resource officer. Fields is also reportedly Kaeslin’s lover, but that is so Daily Mail “allegedly,” I don’t even want to comment on it.

In any case, Fields told the Stockton Record that the domain names were bought with the intention of building a profitable pornographic empire, before the parties involved got bored with the project. He also said that the allegations were “completely overblown,” so you get the feeling they didn’t get very far.

But students apparently told a local TV station that mysluttyteacher.com had an ad stating:  ”Have you ever seen your teacher’s breasts before? Well now you can see them.”

Kaeslin herself admits that her attempt to build a porn empire online amounted to pretty bad decision making, but doesn’t think she deserved to be canned.

“Some people might say, ‘What you did was immoral,’ ” she said. “I feel like what I did personally, I should not have done. That’s why I stopped. Yes, I made a bad decision, not just about accessing and categorizing but even just having an affair. Yeah, I made some bad choices. Do I feel like I should be fired over it? No.”

California Teacher Fired For Running Porn Empire From School Laptop is a post from: The Inquisitr

It’s safe to say that Emma Roberts is well past her “arrival date” into young Hollywood.  Considered acting royalty, the daughter of Eric Roberts, and the niece of Julia Roberts, Emma broke out from any question of nepotism and made an indelible mark as a young actress. In the last few years she’s had a wide range of roles in films like Celeste & Jesse Forever, Scream 4, and It’s Kind of a Funny Story. Her latest film Adult World had its Tribeca Film Festival debut on Thursday, and sees the  young ingénue opposite John Cusack, and American Horror Story’s Evan Peters.

Capturing the bubbly and green disposition her generation is compounded in,  Roberts plays Amy,  an aspiring  poet who completely skips  sarcasm 101 and instead  walks on legs made out of irony in the quirky comedic film. Showing all of her cards right away, Amy has no plan B and is determined to succeed as a poet, despite being dismissed over and over by her has-been idol Rat Billings (John Cusack).  Lacking a true worldly experience, Amy is half firecracker, half lovable “snack pack” of a girl, and is easily the little engine that is worth rooting for even if she could easily give anyone some serious secondhand-embarrassment.

The most enjoyable aspect was Emma’s effervescent quality on screen, which she has in spades off screen as well. It’s the same energy that makes her character believable as a girl stuck between trying to grow up as quickly as possible, while wanting to feel everything at the same time.  At 22, Roberts plays to her strengths and doesn’t shy from the youthful idealism of her age, as she leaps into Adult World.

The Inquisitr’s Niki Cruz sat down with Emma Roberts to speak about her generation, artistic expression, and Adult World.

THE INQUISITR: How did you become involved with Adult World?

EMMA ROBERTS: I got sent Adult World, and I read the script. It was one of those scripts that I read and thought it was very special, and different.  I met with Scott Coffey, the director, and we just had the best time talking for hours and hours. I know he read a bunch of people and I was shocked that I got the part right off of the meeting, because that rarely happens these days. It was just one of those things that I loved and wanted to be a part of. I couldn’t imagine not having done it. Scott and I made this character and really worked so hard on it. I really put a lot of myself into it, so that was really cool to do with a role.

THE INQUISITR: During the initial meeting, what did Scott ask you?

ROBERTS: He just asked me about the character and the script. I guess we had the same perspective on the story, and we really wanted to tell the same kind of story. We didn’t want it to be a kind of coming of age story that says the same thing. We wanted it to be a coming of age story from a different direction. She fails over, and over, again, and we wanted to show that in an honest way, instead of “Oh she ends up being really famous and successful.”

THE INQUISITR: Your character in the film is incredibly optimistic. What was that like to play?

ROBERTS: It’s funny because when I saw the movie for the first time yesterday, I realized she came across much more optimistic than I intended her to be, but I’m actually glad she did. She’s a little bit ignorant, and I think that’s why she’s optimistic, because I don’t think she realizes she’s failed when the audience has. That’s why you root for her because she’s already messed up so much but she doesn’t see it yet. It’s funny to wait for her to find out.

THE INQUISITR: This film represents a specific generation. Did your character speak to you?

ROBERTS: Yeah, definitely. I relate to [the whole] you have your life planned out for yourself and then all of a sudden you’re at the age where everything is supposed to happen, but it hasn’t and you have to reassess your plan. I think that a lot of people in my generation kind of don’t really have a plan B. That’s what’s so funny about Amy is that she’s kind of like, “Well there is no other plan.” It’s cool to see someone have to figure it out as they go along.

THE INQUISITR: Your character idolizes John Cusack’s Rat Billings. I’m sure that wasn’t difficult to find when acting alongside John Cusack.

ROBERTS: No, I mean I’m such a fan of John Cusack. To get to work and meet him was really cool. He was so fun with the adlibbing he would do, and my reactions would be genuine because I would be thrown off, or laugh, and I would have to listen to him go off on some story but in character. We both did that to each other and it helped a lot.

THE INQUISITR: Are you good at ad-libbing?

ROBERTS: It’s one of those things that if you asked me to do it now, I couldn’t do it, but in the moment with the cameras rolling, it either happens or it doesn’t. Ad-libbing is one of those things where it’s kind of about everyone you’re with as opposed to you, and it either clicks or it doesn’t at all.  With this we would go on for seven or eight minutes of ad-libbing and rolling. It was really cool.

THE INQUISITR: Were there any challenges?

ROBERTS: Every part you have something about the character that they like or do, that you don’t. This one I read a lot more poetry. I read a lot of Anne Sexton, which was cool. I thought she was a great female poet to have in the back of my mind as Amy because she’s a feminist, [and into] the art movement. For the record, my character wasn’t an Anne Sexton but  some of her stuff is provocative, and it was cool to have some of [Sexton's] thoughts.

THE INQUISITR: How was it filming in Syracuse?

ROBERTS: Syracuse is the coldest place on earth! My nose was red and my lips are blue in the movie, but they decided to keep it. I was shivering the whole movie. Clearly they let me wear no makeup in the movie. My mom saw it and said, “You look really tired.” When I get cold my dark circles just get worse.

THE INQUISITR: Can you discuss your other projects?

ROBERTS: Yeah, this summer I have a movie coming out called We’re The Millers and it’s with Jennifer Aniston. It’s a cool, family road trip comedy. I just did a pilot called Delirium for Fox, which is a one-hour drama based on a young adult trilogy and that’s really cool. I have a bunch of different things, including this one, and a film called Palo Alto that Gia Coppola directed that will probably be at one of the festivals coming up, hopefully.

THE INQUISITR: For Delirium, is it more dystopian or are you trying to create another Hunger Games?

ROBERTS: We definitely play it more real, which is why it came across more creepier. It was our world today, but turned upside down. It wasn’t ethereal and it wasn’t about magic. That to me is really cool when you take the modern world and add a twist to it. In the show when you turn 18 you get cured of delirium, which is love, and your whole life is run by the government. My character ends up falling in love before her cure, and she runs off to start a rebellion. The writer Karyn Usher wrote Prison Break, and she made it much more action-y and mature. It will have a really wide audience.

THE INQUISITR: Did you read Palo Alto before you took the role?

ROBERTS: Yeah. I loved the book, and the movie is really, really, cool. Gia did an amazing job with it, and James [Franco] is actually in the movie, and he plays a teacher. We have a romance.

THE INQUISITR: Is it difficult to move into more adult roles?

ROBERTS: It’s one of those things that kind of just happens naturally and gradually. I’m not opposed to playing young, if the role is great. I’m not one of those people that will turn down a role because it’s a teen character. In Palo Alto I play 15 or 16, and they just made me look really, really, young. If the part is good it doesn’t really matter.

THE INQUISITR: Were you worried at all playing someone that works in an adult shop?

ROBERTS: I think the adult bookstore is a backdrop. The movie isn’t raunchy or over sexualized at all. It’s a backdrop to add to the comedy, as opposed to the drama to it. That part is actually lighthearted, which I don’t think people realize.  Going into the shop, I wasn’t embarrassed about that stuff at all but I could definitely relate to my character saying, “What does this mean? What does that mean?” I remember the first day we were shooting there, and everyone was laughing and throwing stuff at each other, and being all “What’s this?” And they were like, “Emma, put that down ! Shut up.”

THE INQUISITR: How was it watching Adult World with the Tribeca audience?

ROBERTS: I was so nervous. I was white knuckling the chair and then people started laughing, and I slowly sat up in my chair and relaxed a little bit.  It’s definitely nerve-racking because the things you laugh at, aren’t the things anyone else laughs at, and the things you think are horrible, people are on the floor laughing, so  it’s hard as an actor to be objective about it, but I couldn’t ask for a better audience. It’s a cute movie because it’s funny but it also says something, and it’s really current. It captures a generation that hasn’t been captured in movies.

THE INQUISITR: You often play characters that try to communicate through poetry, or singing, do you relate to those characters because of that expression?

ROBERTS: Definitely.  I feel like a lot of the younger characters are trying to communicate through poetry, or through singing, or whatever their ambitions are. Young people do try to communicate through that as a way to connect with people. I can definitely relate to Amy with this, because I love to read, and it’s a cool way to connect with people. I think it’s fun as a young woman to play characters that are searching for something whether it’s their identity, or looking for love, or trying to find something they’re passionate about. I’m 22 and still trying to figure myself out in some ways.

Could Pokemon X and Pokemon Y be the end of the franchise?

Pokemon has come a long way. Pokemon was once just a card game which had grown to be so popular it made its way to being one of the first Game Boy titles by Game Freak to require a copy of the other version of the game to ultimately “catch ‘em all”. Owners of the Red cartridge had to link their Game Boy with someone who owned a Blue cartridge (or Green in Japan), as there were some Pokemon that could only be found in one or the other. Of course, the loners had to buy two Game Boy systems, one of each game, and play the game twice to collect what was originally just 150 Pokemon.

Since then, Pokemon (which was short for Pocket Monsters) was bought out by Nintendo, and its star critter Pikachu was seen in nearly every Nintendo crossover game in existence.

Over the years, Pokemon has reached over 600 individual Pocket Monsters and 8 videogames. Each pairing or trio of cartridges is considered one game, so the number of cartridges involved is a bit higher. Now it may be possible that with the introduction of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, the franchise may be coming to an end.

According to Pokemon player hamberger58 of Reddit, all Pokemon games have come in duos and trios, so if this is a trio instance, then the third game in the trio would obviously be Pokemon Z. With the letter Z being the last letter of the alphabet, this could also mean the last game of the franchise. If it is in fact a duo, then Pokemon X and Pokemon Y could simply be referring to chromosomes in DNA. Another theory is that X and Y are used in measuring dimensions in 3D space, with Z being the third axis. Seeing as the games are being planned for the 3DS, this could make perfect sense.

Amber Rose’s tattoo, recently debuted on Instagram, is a huge piece depicting baby daddy Wiz Khalifa’s face — and it kind of reminds us of that old joke about how marriage is one thing, but tattoos are so permanent.

On the photo sharing site, Amber Rose showed off her fresh ink to fans with some words that kind of illustrate why covering one of the most visible areas of your body with a giant tat is a decision not necessarily taken very lightly.

Sure, Amber Rose’s tattoo follows a baby with Wiz Khalifa, which is a pretty big commitment. But in her post on Instagram, the new mom also indicates the pair have only been dating for two years — and while the kid will grow up and move to college, she’s going to be sporting the likeness of her rapper boyfriend until death or some very expensive, painful, lengthy and not super efficient laser treatments.

Amber Rose’s tattoo post on Instagram followed a recent tweet, in which the former girlfriend of Kanye West gushes:

“One year since he proposed, 2 years since I met the love of my life and 1 week since we had our baby boy. Happy Anniversary, Wiz Khalifa. Love you baby!”

Indeed, Amber Rose’s tattoo is a quality bit of ink — the likeness is fantastic, and the area of portrait pieces is one that can definitely be iffy at best.

The work is very well done, but the idea of having a dude’s face tattooed on your arm is a scary commitment indeed.

Hopefully these crazy kids will stay together and the tat won’t cause issues for her down the line, but in Hollywood, you never know.

If stressed moms have bigger babies, could it provide clues to how the stress hormone cortisol might be influencing the obesity epidemic? A study published Thursday in the online journal Science examined the way that stress affects wild populations of red squirrels — and it concluded that mother squirrels exposed to higher levels of stress did in fact produce bigger babies.

The fascinating thing is that the babies were bigger even though the mothers didn’t eat any more calories.

Canadian researchers from a number of universities have been studying red squirrel populations at Kluane Lake in the Yukon for more than two decades. In that harsh northern climate, a bigger, faster-growing squirrel definitely has a competitive edge.

The new study’s lead author, Ben Dantzer, played recordings of territorial calls to give the squirrels the impression that they had more rivals than they really did. They then collected and analyzed the squirrel’s droppings — eek! — to prove that the stressed moms had elevated levels of cortisol in their system.

In a related study, the researchers simply added the stress hormone to peanut butter that some of the pregnant squirrels ate.

In both cases, if there were elevated levels of cortisol in the mother’s body, the baby grew bigger and faster.

Is it me, or does this study offer some food for thought about the growing world-wide obesity epidemic? The world’s population is getting bigger — and the individual human being is getting bigger too.

If you think it’s only Americans that are fat, you’re still living in the 80s. The obesity epidemic is a worldwide phenomenom. One-fifth of the world’s one billion obese people now come from China.

Sure, it’s a huge leap to go from a red squirrel study to human moms. But I don’t see the harm of taking a little extra care to avoid stress when you’re pregnant. And we do know that cortisol is also a stress hormone in the human body, with several other studies linking the over-production of cortisol to obesity.

Taking the time to relax might be one step stressed moms can take to help fight future obesity in their children.

Stressed Moms Mean Bigger Babies, At Least In Squirrels is a post from: The Inquisitr

David Ortiz got a little emotional in talking to Boston Red Sox fans the day after a manhunt for the bombing suspects came to a conclusion.

With the team wearing special white jerseys with “BOSTON” sewn across the chest, Ortiz spoke at a pre-game ceremony before the Sox contest against the Kansas City Royals. The event included tributes to law enforcement officials and first responders to Monday’s blast, which killed three and left close to 180 injured.

The ceremony included a video tribute set to the Jeff Buckley song “Hallelujah,” with ceremonial first pitches and a national anthem that once again drew the entire crowd to sing along.

After the Red Sox game on Friday was canceled as nearly the entire city shut down during the manhunt for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Saturday’s contest brought a sense of relief, mourning, and celebration. It also coincided with the return of David Ortiz to the lineup after missing the entire season so far with an Achilles injury.

Speaking to the crowd, David Ortiz delivered a speech that was emotional.

Ortiz said:

“This jersey that we’re wearing today it doesn’t say ‘Red Sox.’ It says, ‘Boston.’ We want to thank you for you, Mayor Menino, Governor Patrick, the whole police department, for the great job that they did this past week. This is our f***ing city. And nobody is going to dictate our freedom. Stay strong.”

Though one bombing suspect was killed and the other captured, security remained high for the Red Sox return to Boston. The locker rooms were swept by men in military fatigues and extra law enforcement officials were on hand.

“This is a city that will count on us, and I understand that,” Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino said before the game, via The Associated Press. “You might not see smiles on people’s faces, but you understand this is a trying time. This is a time for people in the city to embrace themselves and to go out there and be a part of that for this city.”

After David Ortiz’s speech to Boston fans and with emotions high following the manhunt for the bombing suspect, the team went on to defeat the Kansas City Royals 4-3 on a dramatic three-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.

A video from Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s wrestling days has been posted online by friends who are still struggling to understand what drove a seemingly normal 19-year-old college student to terrorism.

It’s still hard for many to imagine Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as a normal kid, but friends of the 19-year-old are having a harder time imagining him as we’ve come to know him: As a domestic terrorist partially responsible for the deaths of four people and the injuries of over 170 spectators and participants at the Boston Marathon.

Yushun Tsou, who was on the wrestling team at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School with Tsarnaev, posted a video of “the Jahar I knew,” which shows him participating in a playful wrestling session in a basement during their high school years.

Tsou, who calls Dzhokhar ”my friend and teammate,” is one of many struggling to reconcile the idea of their well-liked friend and classmate was America’s most wanted man on Friday.

In an interview with TODAY, the Tsarnaev brothers’ uncle Ruslan Tsarni pegged 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev as the architect of the Boston Marathon bombing. Suggesting that Tamerlan had become “radicalized” by currently-unknown mentors, Tsarni believes that Dzhokhar was merely following his big brother’s lead.

One of Dzhokhar’s former teammates agreed, saying that his interest in wrestling stemmed from his brother’s boxing aspirations. “He really loves his brother, looks up to him,” he said.

Tamerlan was killed in a firefight with police late Thursday/early Friday, and Dzhokhar led authorities on a city-wide manhunt until he was cornered and arrested Friday night. He is currently in serious condition at a Boston hospital, with everyone in the nation waiting to hear what he has to say for himself.

Galaxy Quest sequel hopes have been high on fans’ wish lists since the Star Trek spoof hit theaters in 1999, and according to a recent interview Flavorwire conducted with producer Mark Johnson, it’s not in dead space just yet.

Johnson spoke to the website about his current projects, Breaking Bad and Rectify, but he couldn’t resist taking the bait when asked about a Galaxy Quest 2.

“I wish,” Johnson said. “It’s complicated. I can’t get into it because it only gets me angry, because I’m so proud of that movie.”

Johnson admitted that “someday we may actually get there,” adding that there had been talks about “doing a television show which would be sort of fun because it would be a TV show looking at a movie that’s looking at a TV show, something like that.”

“So I wish I could answer you and I wish we did have a sequel or certainly a half-hour comedy based on it. So we’ll see, it’s not over,” he added.

Unfortunately, that’s not something you can take to the bank, but considering Johnson’s willingness to revisit the material along with the recent success of Veronica Mars on Kickstarter – and the fact many films and television programs including Chuck and Friday Night Lights are considering the crowd-sourcing thing — there’s more hope now than at any time in the previous 14 years since Galaxy Quest was released.

Unfortunately, Flavorwire didn’t ask Johnson whether he’d considered crowd-sourcing, not that it would make a lot of difference at this point.

However, it’s an idea worth pursuing. The film was a hit at the time of its release, more than doubling its budget in box office take, according to Box Office Mojo, and its cult following has only picked up in the years that have followed.

This idea could also be a good fit for a Netflix — Arrested Development relaunch, anyone? — or Amazon as they attempt to beef up original content.

As for the old cast, Tim Allen has said he’s game for it, according to a Sigourney Weaver interview with About.com.

When asked if she would be interested as well, Weaver said, “Wouldn’t that be fun? … One time the producer wrote me and said they were going to do a second one. I thought that was exciting, because one of the things that happened on the first one was that they re-cut it at the last minute because they wanted it to go up against Stuart Little.”

Weaver continued: “So it was actually much more sophisticated and had other scenes in it that, I don’t even know if they’re in the DVD. I don’t think DreamWorks quite knew what they had.”

Four rhino heads have been stolen in a bold raid by three masked men who overwhelmed and tied up a guard at an Irish National Museum warehouse north of Dublin on Wednesday night. By the time the guard was able to work himself free, the robbers were long gone.

Ironically, museum curator Nigel Monaghan explained that the four rhinoceros heads were moved to the warehouse in the first place because of an ongoing problem with gangs stealing rhino horn: “The pattern was to smash and grab, even when the museums were open, and we did not want to put the public at risk.”

The four rhino heads were over a century old. Three were black rhinos from Kenya, and a fourth was a white rhino species from the Sudan. Monaghan estimated that the ground-up powder from the rhino horn would sell on the illegal market for as much as $650,000.

As I previously reported, rhino horn is made of keratin — the same substance in human fingernails and toenails. The World Wildlife Fund has recently launched an aggressive advertising campaign to remind people of the facts. Keratin has, of course, no value as a medicine.

And keratin from a cut-off head over 100 years old is probably of less than no value. It’s just gross. Don’t just think ground-up toenails. Think ground-up stale toenails.

Unfortunately, the current high price of illegal rhino horn suggests to some observers that it’s not being bought for medicine at all. Instead, it’s being bought as an investment that can only spiral upward in price as rhino species near extinction and the supply of rhino horn grows shorter.

Either way, if the thieves aren’t caught soon, the four rhino heads are likely to be cut up for the valuable powder.

Will.i.am has come out in defense of Justin Bieber over a guestbook comment the Canadian teen left at Amsterdam’s Anne Frank House after an April 12 visit.

“Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber,” wrote the 19-year-old singer.

After Bieber’s comment was published at the museum’s Facebook page the next day, it unleashed scorching international criticism on Facebook, Twitter and in the wider media.

Now, will.i.am has stepped into the fray.

“He went to a museum!,” the Black Eyes Peas frontman exclaims.

“If you go to Amsterdam you are going to see some crazy freaking s**t. There is a lot of s**t to do in Amsterdam but he chose to go to Anne Frank’s house. The guy is alright!”

The producer-rapper who featured Bieber on his recently unveiled music video for his new single “#thatPOWER,” also compared his experience as a young man with that of his young friend.

“I remember when I was 19, it was pretty tough,” recalled the hitmaker.

“The difference between me and him is that I got to grow up in private, he is growing up in front of everybody!,” he added.

The Voice UK judge also shared his opinion on Bieber as an artist.

“Justin is a great talent,” he told the UK’s The Sun newspaper. “Of all the people I have worked with over the past five years, he is one of the best.

Will.i.am’s defense of the teen phenom over the Anne Frank furor echoes the feeling of some that far from being “disrespectful, “arrogant,” “self-serving” and “conceited,” Bieber’s guestbook entry was — in fact — heartfelt and accurate.

Over the past week, Anne Frank House staff, comic Joan Rivers, and Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League and others, have also defended Bieber.

Foxman pointed out that Frank — a Jewish girl, then 13, who went into hiding with her family in Amsterdam from 1942 to 1944 during the Nazi occupation, and who later died of Typhus in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in March 1945 — was interested in the pop culture and celebrities of her day, as can be read in the now celebrated diaries Frank wrote while in hiding.

In addition, Eva Schloss, stepsister to Frank and a Holocaust survivor, recently commented on the Bieber-Frank controversy.

“It’s so childish,”the 83-year-old told the UK’s Telegraph. “She probably would have been a fan. Why not? He’s a young man and she was a young girl, and she liked film stars and music.”

The continuing media deconstruction of Bieber follows over a month of molten headlines related to dramas on his Believe world tour, and one alleged off-tour incident.

With questions now being asked as to whether the (largely) skewed negative, constant analysis of anything Bieber does amounts to bullying, and those who argue that he has raised awareness about Frank and the Holocaust — it seems will.i.am is in good company.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 may be arriving at AT&T Wireless one-day earlier than expected. A recently captured screenshot by the team at Engadget shows an April 23 release date.

Samsung is expecting big things from its newest smartphone offering with plans to ship 10 million units during the first month of sale. Samsung also expected to sell 30 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones in the first quarter of device sales. The Galaxy S4 will go on sale across 50 countries upon initial launch.

Samsung is also expected to deliver its new flagship smartphone to T-Mobile’s online shop on April 24, although the device will only be available in very limited numbers for T-Mobile customers. T-Mobile customers will be able to put up the Galaxy S4 at brick and mortar locations on May 1. T-Mobile customers can expect to pay $149.99 up front and then $20 per month for 24 months. T-Mobile is selling the device contract free as part of its Uncarrier wireless plan.

AT&T will sell the Galaxy S4 off-contract for $$639.99 or $199.99 with a two-year contract that includes a monthly data plan.

Following T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless will be Sprint Wireless with a $249.00 price point with a two-year contract. Sprint will begin selling the Galaxy S4 on April 27, 2013.

The Galaxy S4 is launching amid steep competition from the highly touted HTC One smartphone.

The Samsung smartphone has a nice set of hardware specs that includes a 1.6GHz Octa-core processor that is powered alongside 2GB RAM and storage option that include 16/32/64GB internal memory. The Galaxy S4 also includes a microSD slot capable of adding another 64GB RAM.

The S4 also offers a 13-megapixel rear facing camera alongside a 2-megapixel front facing option. Galaxy S4 customers can record in full-HD.

With Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 the S4 also features a nice set of connectivity options.

Bill Maher scolded a guest on his HBO show Friday night for trying to downplay the Boston Marathon bombing suspects’ alleged ties to radical Islam.

Maher’s Real Time guest was Professor Brian Levin, Director of the Center of the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino.

In the discussion of the Tsarnaev brothers, Maher declared that today, i.e. in contemporary society, it is his opinion that all religions are not alike. Levin insisted that there are hypocrites in all faiths who do bad things. Maher immediately responded with “that’s liberal bullsh*t right there.”

Bill Maher, who is an admitted atheist and an aggressive critic of all religions, admitted that there are indeed Christian hypocrites and that in the Middle Ages, Christianity was responsible for terrible atrocities, i.e., “was the bigger problem.” But in the course of the discussion, he added the following: “They’re not as dangerous. I mean, there’s only one faith, for example, that kills you or wants to kill you if you draw a bad cartoon of the prophet. There’s only one faith that kills you or wants to kill you if you renounce the faith. An ex-Muslim is a very dangerous thing. Talk to Salman Rushdie after the show about Christian versus Islam. So, you know, I’m just saying, let’s keep it real.”

Bill Maher asked Prof. Levin if had seen the Broadway play “The Book of Mormon.” Levin quipped that it’s too difficult to get tickets. Maher then said, “Okay, can you imagine if they did ‘The Book of Islam’? Could they do that? There’s only one religion that threatens violence and carries it out for things like that. Could they do ‘The Book of Islam’ on Broadway?”

When Levin answered “possibly so,” Maher was skeptical to say the least: “Possibly so? Tell me what color the sky is in your world.”

Maher rejected Levin’s claim that he was “promoting Islamic hatred” on national TV and agreed with Levin that most Muslims are fine, upstanding people.

In a previous broadcast, Maher — who himself is a big liberal Democrat and Obama campaign contributor– even expressed doubts about California’s high tax rate. “And here in California, I just want to say liberals — you could actually lose me. It’s outrageous what we’re paying — over 50 percent. I’m willing to pay my share, but yeah, it’s ridiculous.”

A three-year puma tracking project — which followed the big cats also known as mountain lions, panthers, or cougars — published its findings last week in the online open access journal PLOS One.

The University of California-Santa Cruz Puma Project, headed up by Chris Wilmers, revealed how they tracked 20 pumas over 6,600 square miles in their quest to find out how human development affects the cougars.

Between 2008 and 2011, they captured 37 pumas and ultimately selected 12 females and eight males for the tracking projects. These animals were fitted both with an ear tag and a GPS transmitter that sent out location information every four hours.

The GPS data allowed them to find kill sites, including prey remains in 115 places.

It turns out that a cougar’s activity can change a lot depending upon whether or not it’s breeding.

Based on the pumas his team tracked, Wilmers acknowledged that mountain lions can be bold and courageous animals “totally willing to brave rural neighborhoods.” However, when they’re ready to raise youngsters, they become much more secretive.

The team also noticed that females were less likely to be frightened off by human housing than males, which might bring them into more conflict with humans. They’re not sure why, but it’s speculated that the females with cubs can’t move as freely to find food, so they’re more highly motivated to seek out easy pickings near human homes.

The puma tracking project has also helped them identify where they tend to cross highways — important information since some mountain lions have been killed crossing busy roads. One male crossed a winding highway 31 times. He was badly injured when he was struck by a car in 2010.

A female thought to be his mate was actually killed on the highway in 2011.

An even more important source of conflict arises when ranchers and farmers move in with tasty prey animals. Eight of the 11 pumas that died in the course of the research were killed by humans because they were seen attacking livestock.

Gwyneth Paltrow of Iron Man 3 opened up on being Pepper Potts.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the Iron Man 3 actress gave us her thoughts on being a part of the action this time around, and the possibility of a Pepper Potts spinoff movie. As previously reported in The Inquisitr, a TV spot showed us Pepper Potts donning the Iron Man suit, which leads us to wonder if there is a future in the comic book character of Rescue.

In the comic books, Rescue was a character created when Pepper Potts used one of Tony Stark’s suits, most likely to help the playboy billionaire when he couldn’t help himself. Gwyneth Paltrow says she doesn’t think they’ll ever do it, but it could be fun if they did. After all, people mostly show up in the theater to watch Iron Man, not Pepper Potts.

As for future Iron Man or Avengers films, Gwyneth Paltrow says that Robert Downey Jr. likes having her around, so it’s more than likely that she’ll be in them. Pepper Potts is like the practical part of Tony Stark’s life that keeps him grounded when he’s pushing things too far, and it shows even in the films.

Gwyneth Paltrow said in the interview, “[When] the movie starts, Tony is kinda very traumatized by what’s happened at the end of Avengers. He’s got a bit of post traumatic stress disorder, and he’s very kind of distracted and having a difficult time connecting, and they’ve obviously been living together for a while, the relationship has progressed… They’re in a little bit of a struggle when the movie starts.”

On the fact of getting into the action in Iron Man 3, Gwyneth Paltrow said, “I loved it. I mean I really found it fun, I’ve never really done stunts before and I thought it was thrilling… I liked it a lot.”

Forget the battle between creationism and evolution in public schools, what about the battle for more science fiction in your English class?

That’s exactly what one West Virginia Republican is proposing: A bill that would make sci-fi novels required reading in the schools there, breeding an entire new generation of nerds.

Why? Because by reading science fiction, delegate Ray Canterbury is hoping that students will be inspired to take their math and science more seriously.

“To stimulate interest in math and science among students in the public schools of this state, the State Board of Education shall prescribe minimum standards by which samples of grade-appropriate science fiction literature are integrated into the curriculum of existing reading, literature or other required courses for middle school and high school students,” reads Canterbury’s proposed bill.

Canterbury himself is a fan of the old school classics: The real “thinking man’s” sci-fi from the likes of Isaac Asimov and Jules Verne.

“I’m not interested in fantasy novels about dragons,” he told Blastr in an interview. Instead, Canterbury wants sci-fi novels which showcase advanced technology “both in terms of the problems that it presents and the solutions that it offers.”

So far, many science fiction authors have praised Canterbury’s proposal. Scientist and author David Brin (The Postman) has fought long and hard to get educators to see the literary value in the genre, remarking that it’s ”wonderful to live in a country where politicians can raise this possibility.”

Author and critic James Gunn said that Canterbury’s proposal ”sounds like an enlightened idea.”

The fight to recognize the literary merits of science fiction are about as old as the genre itself. Even celebrated author Kurt Vonnegut struggled with it throughout his career, once saying:

“I have been a soreheaded occupant of a file drawer labeled ‘science fiction’ ever since, and I would like out, particularly since so many serious critics regularly mistake the drawer for a urinal.”

Rap superstar Jay-Z is selling his ownership stake in the NBA team the Brooklyn Nets. Jay-Z helped the Nets move this past season from New Jersey to his hometown of Brooklyn.

Jay-Z says of his decision to sell his stake in the Nets:

“Being a member of the Nets organization surpassed some of my greatest ambitions. It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. I’m a Brooklyn Net forever. It’s been an honor to work with Mikhail Prokhorov, Dmitry Razumov, Christophe Charlier, ONEXIM Sports and Entertainment, Brett Yormark and all the wonderful people involved in making the Nets first class. My sincerest thanks goes to Bruce Ratner, who first introduced the idea of moving the Nets to Brooklyn. A thank you and deepest appreciation goes to the fans. You are the lifeblood of any team.”

The multi-platinum selling artists isn’t exactly giving up his sports ambitions. Earlier this month Jay-Z partnered with sports management firm Creative Arts Agency to launch sports-representation agency Roc Nation Sports. NBA rules stipulate that a team owner can not represent professional athletes and own a stake in a league team.

Later in his statement Jay-Z writes:

The statement continued: “The Nets have made their mark on the NBA and as they enter a new era, Roc Nation does as well; as we embark on Roc Nation Sports. Our newest endeavor is committed to building the brands of professional athletes as we have done for some of today’s top music artists. For Roc Nation Sports to function at its full potential, NBA rules stipulate that I relinquish my ownership in the Brooklyn Nets. It was a tough decision but as I stated earlier, it’s not about ownership. Congratulations to The Nets on a great season and making the playoffs! I will always be a Brooklyn Net.”

In the meantime Roc Nation Sports recently signed its first client, New York Yankees all-star Robinson Cano.
