Fame-hungry Kim Kardashian would have done anything for the spotlight, including dating 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey once upon a time. Of course, this is all according to Nick Lachey, so you’re encouraged to draw your own conclusions.

But still, you may not remember that these two reality TV stars did actually date way back in 2006. And Lachey claims that their brief dalliance was just a fame-grab on Kardashian’s part.

“Let’s just say this: We went to a movie. No one followed us there. Somehow, mysteriously, when we left, there were 30 photographers waiting outside,” Lachey tells Details magazine.

Right after high high-profile divorce from Jessica Simpson, Lachey and Kardashian dated for about a week. The pairing was documented extensively by the paparazzi, with Lachey implying that the media interest in their short relationship was by design.

“That’s one way to interpret it,” he says.

The 39-year-old seems to believe that Kardashian tipped off the press about their date, hence the media blitz.

“There are certain ways to play this game, and some people play it well,” he says, conceding that Kardashian’s sex tape with Ray J was part of her manufactured fame.

“Yeah,” Lachey admits. “Well, that was already in the can.”

Though it seems like Lachey is “throwing Kardashian under the bus,” as The Huffington Post puts it, Kim hasn’t exactly denied that her coupling with him helped boost her public image.

“It started when I went out on a date with Nick Lachey. Of course the paparazzi took pictures, because people were curious about who he was with,” she wrote in her 2010 memoir Kardashian Konfidential.

“The next night I was out with Paris Hilton,” Kardashian wrote. “We were in her car and the paparazzi started taking pictures. Usually they would shout, ‘Paris! Paris! Paris!’ [But] they started yelling ‘Kim! Kim! Kim!’ I wanted to hide, and Paris and I just looked at each other and laughed. She said, ‘Whatever you do, just smile.’ I thought, this is so weird, I don’t know what’s going on. It was surreal.”

Nick Lachey Implies He’s The Reason Kim Kardashian Is Famous [Video] is a post from: The Inquisitr

Though most family members of Boston Marathon bombing suspects Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev have reacted with bewilderment, confusion, and suspicions of a “setup,” Ruslan Tsarni, uncle to the two, thinks that motive is much simpler to discern in the case.

Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on TODAY, Tsarni opines that the brothers were indeed pawns in a broader terrorist scheme, but believes that Tamerlan was “radicalized” by mentors, and Dzhokhar was merely following his lead.

“I strongly believe they were just puppets and executors of something of bigger scale,” Tsarni said, continuing that Dzhokhar was ”used by his older brother. He’s just another victim of his older brother. He victimized others, but he’s been used by his older brother.”

As more information on the suspects comes to light, it seems increasingly apparent that 26-year-old Tamerlan, who was killed in a firefight with police on Friday, was indeed the architect of the bombing. Tsarni recalls being shocked by Tamerlan’s beliefs and apparent radicalization back in 2009, the last time he saw his nephew.

“I was shocked when I heard his words, his phrases, when every other word he starts sticking in words of God. I question what he’s doing for work, (and) he claimed he would just put everything in the will of God. It was a big concern to me. He called me ‘confused’ when I started explaining to him, make yourself useful to yourself and to your family and maybe you’ll have extra to share with everybody else.

Tsarni was quick to draw a line between religious conviction and religious extremism, arguing that Tamerlan exhibited the latter.

“It wasn’t devotion, it was something, as it’s called, being radicalized. Not understanding what he is talking (about). He is just using words for the sake of the words and not understanding the meaning of it.’’

Though he previously said that any ties between Tamerlan and extremist Islam were being manufactured by the media, Tsarni admitted that it may have played a role after all.

“He said there is someone who brainwashed him, some new convert to Islam,’’ Tsarni said. “I would like to stress (the acquaintance was) of Armenian descent.’’

Dzhokhar was cornered late Friday night inside a boat in the backyard of a house, and was finally captured alive after a tense stand-off. Tsarni says that he is happy that his nephew is alive, because now he can ask forgiveness for his crimes. Additionally, law enforcement officials now have an opportunity to get to the bottom of the case.

“For a 19-year-old kid, I do not even believe (that) he would (have) been in full comprehension of what he’s been doing. For the sake of seeking forgiveness for himself, I don’t know how long his life is going to be, but I know it will be way easier for him if he receives that forgiveness for those he made to suffer.”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Was ‘Used’ By ‘Radicalized’ Older Brother [Video] is a post from: The Inquisitr

Denver, CO – Denver police were able to confirm after autopsy and investigation that on February 6, 23-year-old Mayra Nunez shot her three children, one of them multiple times, and then herself.

Relatives said Mayra and her husband Ricky quarreled the night before. Ricky then left the home to cool off and made the discovery of the bodies when he returned early the next day and called authorities.

Family members and police still struggle to identify a clear motive behind the shootings, bewildered as to what drove the young stay-at-home mother to take not only her own life, but attempted to wipe out her children as well.

As a result of the murder-suicide Mayra, her 4-year-old daughter, Navaeh (also reported as Neveah), and 1-year-old son, Eric, died. However, Mayra’s 2-year-old daughter Isabel managed to survive. Several reports vary slightly on the ages of the children.

Isabel was tended to by paramedics, rushed to Denver Health Medical Center, immediately underwent surgery for her head wound, and remained in a critical condition. With the consent of the family, doctors removed tubes and support, unsure at first if the child would survive. Five days after being shot in the head, Isabel awoke from her coma.

According to the girl’s rehabilitation physician, Dr. Michael Dichiaro, the bullet had passed through the child’s frontal lobe, left to right, damaging arteries in the brain. This injury resulted in the deficit in Isabel’s limited ability to use her left side and lower extremities.

Since Isabel has engaged in rehabilitation, her progress has been considered “inspiring to see,” given before her recovery had been deemed low-level. The attentiveness of the girl’s grandmother has been beneficial Isabel’s progress. Isabel can now walk with the assistance of a therapist and a walker and is using words. Her upcoming goals are to learn how to feed and dress herself.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen gives you more enemies.

Dragon’s Dogma is getting an expansion in Dark Arisen next week for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, giving you more enemies and a new underground realm to explore. Owners of the original game can export their saved games into this one, most likely to give them the advantage of experience from the start.

Dragon’s Dogma is a dungeon crawler much like Diablo III, except it is much more in the perspective of the character, as environments rotate around you for a richer sense of immersion. It also gives battles a more epic feel, since you can look up at larger enemies, adding to the sense of menace.

In the first enemy showcase video for Dragon’s Dogma, we saw the pyrosaurians, basically flaming lizards that could breathe fire on you and give a whole new definition to the heat of battle. We also saw the eliminator, which was a minotaur with a giant hammer and a huge temper. Last of all in the first video, we saw Death, which should be pretty self-explanatory.

The second video for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen enemies shows us the strigoi, the living armor and the Gazer. The strigoi is a flying creature that grabs hold of you and your pawns, stinging like there’s no tomorrow. You will need to shake off the strigoi and help your team to avoid being slaughtered. The living armor carries a massive sword and uses the Stone Forest spell. Knocking off its armor will only make it tougher to take down, as it will be little more than a spirit, which conventional weapons may not harm. The Gazer is a giant, you guessed it, eye. You have to get in among what appears to be layers of eyelids and hack at it. Of course, its gaze can also be deadly, and it uses tentacles to attack from a distance, bursting from the ground. The Gazer will use its eyelids like lips to chant a spell, making this one tough cookie.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is out April 23 in the US and April 26 in Europe.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects, was reportedly on campus at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth after the Monday attack.

The Associated Press reports that several of Tsarnaev’s classmates spotted him on campus between the attack and his eventual capture this week. Though a UMass-Dartmouth spokesman for the university wouldn’t comment beyond merely confirming that Tsarnaev was registered as a student there, several of his fellow students say that they did at least see him on campus after the Monday bombing.

One student who lives on the same dormitory floor as Tsarnaev says that he spotted him in the hallway after the bombings occurred.

“He was regular, he was calm,” the student said, though confessed that he hadn’t interacted with Tsarnaev much.

Another student who is enrolled in a philosophy class with Tsarnaev says that she saw him on campus as well, though he wasn’t in class. ”He was laid back. I would never expect this at all from him,” she said.

School officials evacuated the UMass-Dartmouth campus on Friday after it was revealed that Tsarnaev was a suspect, and that he was still enrolled at the university. An official statement gave the evacuation reason as ”out of an abundance of caution,” during the Friday manhunt.

These reports add to an abundance of evidence that seems to indicate that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at least attempted to keep up a facade of his normal life after the Boston Marathon bombing Monday.

He continued tweeting in the days after the bombing, as well. His tweets just one day after the bombing seem pretty mundane – nothing really out of the ordinary for an average college-age student.

His final tweet, two days after the bombing, read:

A fake New York Post apology was inserted into newspapers as criticism of the paper’s erroneous coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing builds.

The fake apology was created by the website Animal New York, which decided to issue a mea cupla on behalf of the New York Post and editor Col Allan, who has stood by the paper’s coverage. The Post was one of the leading outlets in putting out unverified and flatly false information, including that 12 people were killed in Monday’s blast and that authorities quickly took a 20-year-old Saudi Arabian national as a suspect. Both were untrue.

Despite mounting criticism, Allan seemed to defend the paper for its Boston bombing coverage, especially a cover that featured two “suspects” who turned out to have nothing to do with the bombing.

“We stand by our story,” Allan said in a statement to The Huffington Post. “The image was emailed to law enforcement agencies yesterday afternoon seeking information about these men, as our story reported. We did not identify them as suspects.”

Because Allan refused to apologize, Animal New York decided to do it for him. The website crafted the apology it believed Allan should have written.

“It is with great regret that I reflect upon the nature of the New York Post‘s reporting and editorial decisions in the days following the Boston Marathon bombing,” the letter read. “For the past four days, the New York Post has consistently published accounts of the tragic incident and subsequent investigation that were at best ill-informed and speculative, and at worst intentionally misleading and harmful to the lives of those involved.”

It added, “This week, the New York Post has acted recklessly and with flagrant disregard for the principles of good journalism.”

The fake New York Post apology was slipped into copies of Friday’s paper and handed out to people on the street.

Michael Bay apparently doesn’t think that Pacific Rim is a Transformers rip-off after all.

During his appearance at CinemaCon this week, the Bad Boys director stated that there were simply too many Transformers wannabes clogging theaters these days. This led some to believe that he was referring to Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming action flick Pacific Rim.

However, Michael Bay has since taken to his official website to address the situation. It turns out the whole thing was just a huge misunderstanding.

The filmmaker explained:

“[The] Hollywood Reporter stated that I was in a feud with Guillermo del Toro and his ‘Pacific Rim.’ Absolutely to the contrary. I was talking about another movie, at another studio that will remain nameless, while I spoke at CinemaCon in Vegas this Monday.”

He continued.

“I love how reporters put false words in people’s mouths without doing their proper research. Well cause of that sloppy reporting, I thought Guillermo was mad at me, and he thought I was mad at him. We both exchanged calls today and realized nobody was mad at anybody except we were both mad at that reporter.”

The folks at The Hollywood Reporter asked the Pacific Rim director about Bay’s comments earlier this week despite the fact that del Toro’s movie was never mentioned by name.

“We are far, far, far away from that in a very willing fashion. For good or bad, this is my movie. This is my universe and my creation, and I do not create through comparison,” the director stated.

Once again, there isn’t a feud between Michael Bay and Guillermo del Toro. However, it would be interesting to know which movie the filmmaker was talking about during his appearance at CinemaCon. The only flick that springs to mind is Real Steel, though that’s a bit of a stretch.

Michael Bay Doesn’t Think ‘Pacific Rim’ Is A ‘Transformers’ Rip-Off is a post from: The Inquisitr

Boston sports are returning to the city in the aftermath of the hunt for Monday’s bombing suspects, but the Red Sox and Bruins are planning to increase security measures.

Monday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon left three people dead and close to 180 injured, and also caused the cancellation of Bruins and Celtics contests early in the week. As the city slowly recovered mid-week, the Bruins played a home game against the Buffalo Sabres that was seen as a measure of healing for the city.

When police closed in on bombing suspects late Thursday night and early Friday morning, shutting down the city as the search for the remaining suspect intensified, the Red Sox and Bruins again canceled games. Now that the remaining suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has been captured, Boston sports are ready to return.

The Red Sox are set to play the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, with tighter-than-normal security at Fenway Park planned. A few hours before the game started, a SWAT team member with a German shepherd stood at the doorway leading to the visitor’s dugout while officers in military fatigues swept the visitor’s locker room before the game.

The Bruins are also playing an afternoon contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins amid greater security.

“Clearly we were all watching for days and being here yesterday and being in the hotel, being inside certainly became a part of the situation and part of what the city of Boston was going through. I think although we weren’t a part of it, the celebration outside as a city and as a people last night, and just feel like it’s a great opportunity to play a game today with the city of Boston and not just against the Bruins but with the city and with the Bruins,” Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said.

Outside both games, fans appeared ready for the return of Boston sports. Many wore the baseball team’s home white jersey that says “BOSTON” rather than “RED SOX” and others wore “Boston Strong” t-shirts that benefit OneFund.

Former president George W. Bush has unsurprisingly given his brother Jeb Bush his personal endorsement for a 2016 presidential bid. However, he hopes that voters will judge Jeb apart from his own controversial legacy if he chooses to run.

In an interview with Parade, Bush weighed in on his brother’s chances should he seek a 2016 presidential bid. The most important question is, of course, is the country ready for another Bush?

“That’s for Jeb to figure out, you know what I mean? I would hope that people would judge [him], if Jeb were to run, on his merits and his track record.…So I hope he will run,” George W. Bush said of his brother.

Though the former Florida governor hasn’t decided whether he’ll attempt a presidential run in 2016, he has, in recent interviews, expressed hope for a revitalized Republican Party in 2016.

He said that “the party ought to nominate somebody who can stand by principles and explain why conservative principles are better for the vast majority of the citizens,” dismissing notions that the GOP was “doomed forever.”

As for George W. Bush, though he has kept a very low profile since leaving office in 2009, the former president has recently granted a few interviews to talk about his legacy and his life since then.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Bush said that he was more or less “comfortable” with his legacy, despite controversy over the decisions that led the country into war with Iraq and Afghanistan.

“I’m confident the decisions were made the right way,” he said. “It’s easy to forget what life was like when the decision was made.”

He also said people were surprised to find out that he is an avid painter. ”Of course, some people are surprised I can even read,” he joked.

Could Call of Duty be announced at the reveal of the Xbox 720?

If there is one thing the Xbox 360 has been known for since its release, it was first-person shooters. We had Halo, Call of Duty, and a plethora of other gun-happy titles to run with, much to the annoyance of anyone who wasn’t looking for first-person shooters. Seeing Call of Duty launch with the Xbox 720 would only be fitting in this case.

There has been no reveal yet of the Xbox 720 or Call of Duty, which leads skeptics to believe they may be occurring at the same time. It’s not like the creators of Call of Duty, Activision, are losing money on the series. Call of Duty appears to the big title planned to survive the recent run of layoffs, and with microtransactions making their way to the Xbox Live marketplace, the game isn’t fading anytime soon.

Call of Duty would be a flagship title that may steal PlayStation fans away, as Activision is in agreement with Microsoft for DLC exclusivity. With Bungie apparently making a deal with Sony to bring their next big title Destiny exclusively to PlayStation 4, Xbox 720 is going to need its killer app. Halo may have given way to the new franchise, and Bungie knows what it’s doing.

The Xbox 720 may be planned as an “entertainment hub” by Microsoft, but a lot of us will remain under the agreement that a console is for gaming. And gamers love Call of Duty, as the numbers themselves will attest.

Call of Duty has been known for its yearly releases, and as history has shown, those releases usually happened around May, which happens to be the month that the Xbox 720 is expected to be announced. On May 21, 2013 we should have our answers if rumors are correct.

Derrick Rose won’t be swooping in to save the season for the Chicago Bulls.

The guard has spent the entire season rehabbing from an ACL tear suffered in last year’s playoffs, and both Rose and the team had harbored hopes that he might return for a playoff run. It now seems that won’t happen.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Saturday that Derrick Rose wouldn’t play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Brooklyn Nets. Thibodeau added that Rose is likely out for the entire postseason.

Thibodeau did leave a bit of an opening, saying if he thought Rose was ready to return he wouldn’t hesitate to put him in the lineup, though it appears the door is almost entirely shut on a return this year.

“He’s most likely out but you never know,” Thibodeau said. “The playoffs are stretched out, too, so you have to factor that in. So who knows another week from now where he is? You always want to leave that possibility open.”

Earlier this month there seemed to be a measure of optimism about Rose returning. The guard noted that his recovery was moving along, and he would insert himself into the lineup as soon as he felt able.

“I’ll play whenever I’m ready to play. Who knows when I’m ready to? Right now, all I can do is just cheer on my teammates.”

The Bulls are limping into the first-round series against the Nets. They are without center Joakim Noah, who has plantar fasciitis, and backup Vladimir Radmonovic with a back injury.

Noah is out for Saturday’s opening game, but could return at some point.

“We’ll see,” Thibodeau said of Noah. “He’s going to stretch and see what he can do but I don’t want him out there if he’s injured. If he’s feeling good enough any minutes that he could give us would be a huge plus for the team but I don’t want him out there injured.”

If Derrick Rose is out for the playoffs, he would be set to play at the start of the 2013-14 season.

We’ve seen set photos, but Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are getting their first real, polished look at the upcoming Thor: The Dark World thanks to a teaser poster released online Saturday.

Iron Man 3 is just a few weeks away, and the studio is already moving on with promotional duties for the next film in the “Phase Two” canon, Thor: The Dark World.

Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, was last seen in 2012′s The Avengers, leaving Earth for Asgard with his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the powerful Tesseract in tow. We’re just ignoring the fact that the end of the 2011 film Thor made his presence on Earth impossible, because: Shut up, do you hate fun?

Anyway, here’s the official synopsis:

“Set one year after The Avengers,Thor battles to save all the Nine Realms from a mysterious enemy older than the universe itself. However, a primeval race led by Malekith, who is out for revenge, intends to plunge the universe into darkness. Confronted by an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot overcome, Thor must reunite with Jane Foster and set out on a dangerous journey that will force him to make the ultimate sacrifice.”

The film will see the return of most of Thor‘s original cast, including Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba … seriously, everyone. Even Kat Dennings.

Zachary Levi of Chuck  fame will take over the role of Fandral from Josh Dallas, and Christopher Eccleston joins as a new villain: Malekith the Accursed, who thankfully looks much cooler in the film than he does in the comics.

You don’t see any of that in the teaser poster, which just shows Hemsworth’s Thor charging his hammer in the rain, but we won’t have to wait long to see more. The first teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World drops Tuesday, April 23. The film will be released on November 8.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 has been one of the more talked about game titles since it was announced at Nintendo’s press conference on Wednesday.

The game is getting plenty of press both because it is a new game when talking about the 3DS and also because it is an old reliable game that older gamers remember from the SNES playing days.

While there hasn’t been a whole lot of information about the game released yet, there are a couple of videos that have recently been released that show off what the game looks like.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 gameplay videos aren’t your usual gameplay videos. Most games will find a way to release the videos as if you are actually inside the game.

The video we have below is actually a more hands on look at the game because it truly shows what you will see when you have the Nintendo 3DS in your hand along with the game.

This game is essentially the same one that was on the SNES but there are a few tweaks here and there. The most obvious tweak is that Link can actually change the way he moves by becoming a 2D drawing.

By doing this he can get around walls, doors and windows easier. This little tweak, while leaving the rest of the game play quite similar, people can get the best of both worlds.

There are also a few different changes to the map and a couple of new dungeons so that people who end up actually playing both games will notice that there are some real differences.

Media bosses are defending themselves over erroneous, potentially life-ruining reporting during Boston Marathon bombing coverage this week. The biggest culprits are News Corp. boss Rupert Murdoch and CNN’s Jeff Zucker, with both sticking up for themselves over a couple of pretty glaring flaps.

CNN is still trying to find itself since Zucker took the reins, and a part of that process apparently involves painful media mishaps that were once again the subject of scrutiny during the developing Boston Marathon bombing. CNN had reported that an arrest was made in the early days of the story, even though no moves were made on the bombing suspects until late Thursday/early Friday.

“When we made a mistake, we moved quickly to acknowledge it and correct it,” Zucker said in a statement.

“As events unfolded in Boston, and then in Texas, and as they continue to unfold at this very moment in both places, CNN has been there for our audience in every possible way – on television, online and on our mobile platforms,” he said.

Zucker concluded by lauding CNN’s staff for their tireless reporting efforts.

“I wanted to express my deep gratitude and admiration. You have worked tirelessly, around the clock, to share these stories. And our audiences have responded, making it clear that they rely on us in ever increasing ways. In front of the cameras and behind the scenes, you have shown the world what makes us CNN. With my thanks and appreciation.”

But the bigger media mishap in Boston bombing reports belongs to The New York Post, a News Corp. publication owned by Rupert Murdoch. Their story showed a photo of two innocent men, implying that they were the prime suspects in the bombing.

The controversial move was universally condemned, with even The Inquisitr running a damage-control story to exonerate the men pictured.

Murdoch defended the Post on Twitter, shifting blame to the FBI:

Even President Obama criticized erroneous reporting Friday, arguing that it can jeopardize public safety.

After giving sister Kourtney such a hard time for starting a family before tying the knot, Kim Kardashian says she’s a “hypocrite” for following that same pattern with boyfriend Kanye West.

The irony here, of course, is that Kim actually is married … to Kris Humphries.

In a clip for the upcoming ”Ryan Seacrest with the Kardashians: An E! News Presentation” special, Kim admits that she was probably a bit too hasty in judging her sister Kourtney. In fact, Kim has discovered that there are many ways to start a family.

“I’ve said some things that I completely am, like, a hypocrite about now,” Kim admits. “I would say things about Kourtney like, ‘You cannot have a baby without being married!’”

Though Kim has been dealing with a long and highly-publicized divorce battle with Humphries, she’s not adverse to walking down the aisle with 35-year-old Kanye West. But she’s in no rush.

Even though the split with Humphries was only settled this week after a battle that eclipsed the length of their marriage, the divorce isn’t finalized, just approved.

Besides, she says she knows she’ll be with West for the long haul.”[Marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency,” she told Cosmopolitan in April.

Still, “It just feels like this is it for me,” Kim says.

After 4 fishermen went missing off the Texas Gulf coast, the US Coast Guard has expanded a search for their 50-foot vessel.

The 4 fishermen went missing early Friday morning, with a distress signal emanating from their boat at close to 3:30 am. The boat was close to 115 miles southeast of Galveston, close to the state’s border with Louisiana, when it began sinking.

One of the 4 fishermen who went missing was found a few hours later. A search team member came across John Robinson on a life raft at about 8:30 am. But the other four on board the fishing boat remained unaccounted for early on Saturday.

The Coast Guard search crews were using an aircraft and a cutter to search four the fishermen. As the sun rose on Saturday, the crews added two more aircraft.

“We’re going to keep searching until someone tells us to stop,” said Petty Officer Richard Brahm.

He said the Coast Guard uses a variety of information to determine if someone missing is believed to be alive, which would allow search efforts to continue. Once it is believed they are no longer alive the efforts would shift to a rescue mission.

Other lost fishermen have came out of worse situations. In Jamaica, three fishermen were lost for three days on the Caribbean sea before being found.

The Jamaicans were on a small boat that broke a motor, leaving them stuck in the sweltering Caribbean sea. They survived the ordeal by eating some of the raw fish they caught and drank melted ice.

Everton Gregory and John Sobah brought along 14 buckets of ice and 16 gallons of water along with several bags of cereal, bread, and fruit. They planned a short trip to fish for wahoo, tuna, and mahi mahi.

Star Trek: The Video Game‘s story creation has been revealed in a video.

Remember the latest video where William Shatner fought the Gorn (the big lizard)? Yeah, that was a clever throwback to the classic scene from the original Star Trek TV series. It was also a promotion for the newest Star Trek video game due on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC April 23 in the US and April 26 in Europe.

A new video has been released explaining how the story was created for Star Trek: The Video Game, which features Captain Kirk and Spock in a battle to fend off a Gorn invasion. The in-game models are based on the newest Star Trek actors, so William Shatner’s ad for this game is probably the last you’ll see of him.

The video begins with some cutscenes from Star Trek: The Video Game. Captain Kirk gets a Vulcan woman’s attention, Spock throws a Gorn off a pier, and a few scenes with space vessels ensue.

Brian Miller, senior vice president of Paramount Pictures, says:

“We wanted to tell an original story. We wanted to take players on an adventure they hadn’t seen before. One of the most important things we did was bring on a great writer. We brought in Marianne Krawczyk, who wrote the God of War trilogy. This untold story of Kirk and Spock is canon to the new [Star Trek] universe. It takes place after the 2009 film and before Into Darkness. The Enterprise intercepts a distress signal from these Vulcans who are stranded on a space station.”

We see a cutscene of the Vulcan woman Tamara meeting Spock on the space station.

Brian Miller continues, “Tamara’s a really beautiful, smart Vulcan scientist. There’s a great history between Spock and Tamara.”

A cutscene shows Tamara telling someone, “We’ve been searching for a planet to rebuild our race. New Vulcan seemed perfect…”

The world’s oldest spacewalker title was quietly claimed yesterday when 59-year-old Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov stepped out of the International Space Station a bit after 10 AM EDT to upgrade some new experiments on the exterior of the orbiting lab.

NASA had live streaming of the six hour outer-space event, but unfortunately a great many people missed the show because of Friday’s tension-filled manhunt for 19-year-old Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

During the history-making spacewalk, the world’s oldest spacewalker was joined by a second-generation spacewalker, 41-year-old Roman Romanenko, also a Russian. It was his first walk in outer space, but he’s the son of retired cosmonaut Yuri Romanenko, who logged over 10 hours in space during his career.

Their chores included installing devices to study space weather and the effects of microbes on spacecraft. They also replaced a faulty reflector on a navigational device.

Near the end of the six hour effort, Vinogradov accidentally dropped an experiment panel, which moved out of reach so that it couldn’t be retrieved. NASA said it won’t hit the ISS and that they don’t expect any real problems as a result of the minor mishap.

The excursion was the 167th ISS spacewalk. Vinogradov himself has now spent 38 hours, 25 minutes in space.

The Russian crew had already set another record when they traveled to the ISS on a Soyuz craft in late March. After launching in Karakhstan, they used a new shortcut to reach the ISS in only six hours. The trip had previously taken two days.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s Norway reunion was no ordinary affair.

According to reports, it was romance with a capital ‘R.’

The Spring Breakers actress flew into Oslo on Thursday for one reason. To see her ex-boyfriend, who was playing at his third and final Telenor Arena show.

“Selena came to Norway to see Justin,” E! News reports insiders as saying. “She landed when he was onstage. They met up privately later. She was picked up by a car from Justin’s camp. It was a personal visit.”

Gomez, 20, was reportedly waiting backstage for Bieber, 19, when his concert ended.

“They were holding hands, hugging and they kissed on the lips,” a source told People.

“They looked really in love, like no fights ever happened before. It definitely looked like they were back together.”

During their stay in Oslo, Bieber and Gomez and his friends from the tour took over the entire top floor of The Thief, Norway’s only six-star hotel.

Owned by Forbes billionaire investor and developer, Petter Stordalen, one of the big draws of the hotel is the privacy it offers those who stay there.

“We never comment on who stays at our hotel,” Stordalen told E! News, when asked for details. “All I can say is that at The Thief we treat all guests like rock stars and all rock stars like guests.”

Think that was Bond-esque? There’s more.

During Bieber’s visit to Oslo, fans tracked the teen heartthrob down and waited outside the main entrance of The Thief every day. However, Justin was able to avoid the screams — until he got on stage, at least — by using the back exit of the waterfront hotel, where a private boat awaited him.

Bieber rode the boat to and from the Telenor Arena for each of his three shows, in a journey that took 20 to 30 minutes. Consider us impressed.

Over his three night run in Oslo, a total of 66,000 fans watched the “Boyfriend” singer rock the Arena, demonstrating exactly why five Norway schools moved their midterms.

Norway’s Bieber fever is well documented, of course. This time around, the Red Cross were on standby with “comfort patrols” for fans who couldn’t quite cope with the enormity of it all.

As for Selena, after their night at The Thief, she and Bieber traveled together to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he will play the city’s Parken Arena tonight.

The Believe tour will end its European leg on April 28, before heading to Dubai, South Africa and returning to the US on June 22.

Gomez, too, recently announced her “Stars Dance” world tour, which begins in Vancouver on August 14 and wraps November 27 in St. Louis. Her album will be released in the summer.

Both Bieber and Gomez have also been named as presenters at the upcoming Radio Disney Music Awards, to be held on April 27 at L.A.’s Nokia theater.

For now, the couple’s stormy separation appears to be at an end. What happens next, is up to them.

Daft Punk’s new song set a Spotify record on Friday.

The streaming music service said the electronic duo’s latest tune “Get Lucky” had the most streams of any track on currently available to users in the United States and the United Kingdom.

However, Spotify hasn’t released the number of streams as of this writing. In other words, you’ll just have to take their word for it.

The single, which features rapper and producer Pharrell Williams, is the first single off Daft Punk’s upcoming album Random Access Memories. The collection of tunes is the duo’s first effort since scoring director Joseph Kosinski’s underrated sci-fi flick TRON: Legacy.

The electronic group’s last album Human After All was released in 2005.

Daft Punk’s Spotify streaming record essentially takes the crown away from the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis track “Thrift Shop.” In the UK, the title previously belonged to British band Bastille and their song “Pompeii.”

Fans aren’t the only ones who have an appreciation for “Get Lucky.” Williams performed the song no less than three times at the HTC One launch party in New York.

In addition to taking Spotify by storm, Daft Punk’s new tune has also made a considerable dent on iTunes since its release early Friday morning. The track quickly rose to the top of the Top 10 Songs list. In other words, it would appear the duo has a new hit on their hands.

Earlier this week, fans were tricked into checking out a leaked version of the new single. Unfortunately for those who were anxious to check out the duo’s latest offering, the single was nothing more than a looped version of the previously-released teaser.

Random Access Memories will be available for purchase on May 21.
