Gears of War movie rights have gone to Scott Stuber, the brains behind Battleship (movie, not board game).

The news comes by way of The Wrap following what the website described as a “hard-fought battle” over the film version of the popular video game series.

Universal will get a first look at the project, which is being produced in conjunction with video game publisher Epic. Stuber reportedly beat out Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) and Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious) for the win.

It’s still very early in the development stages with Stuber and his Bluegrass Films banner on the hunt for a writer to adapt the popular seven-year-old video game franchise to the big screen.

Given Epic’s history of fiercely protecting its creative properties — they put the kibosh to a New Line Cinema version in 2007 over creative differences — we’re sure a Gears of War movie will end up close to the video game in plotting, so for now, we’ll use that.

Taking place on the planet Sera, the story follows a former prisoner of war, who leads the human charge against the subterranean Locust Horde, who emerge from the earth to wipe out mankind.

Epic’s choice of Stuber to produce is an interesting one given the fact he’s the responsible party for Battleship. According to Box Office Mojo, the previous film grossed just $65 million domestically on a $209 million production budget. It was saved by a $237 million international take because, apparently, folks outside the US will go see anything.

Kidding. We in the US are the country that conceived this Worst Picture of the Year nominee, so there’s little room to point an accusing finger. Here’s the trailer:

Ultimately, Battleship turned a profit, but at $303 million worldwide, it was a close call. Compare that to Transformers ($2.7 billion worldwide) and The Fast and the Furious (close to $1.6 billion), and it’s a curious decision indeed.

Perhaps Epic foresees less of a fight out of Stuber, and the thinking is they’ll get to make the movie they want instead of one that is Hollywood-ized.

The only question: whose vision will translate better to theaters?

To ensure the film’s success, Stuber will ultimately have to take a page from the Splinter Cell movie’s book and land a big star. But who?

The developers behind Call of Duty are debuting with an Xbox exclusive title.

Two developers who worked on Call of Duty, Jason West and Vince Zampella, after having been fired by Activision for insubordination, created their own studio by the name of Respawn Entertainment. A fitting name for the way the studio got its start, Respawn Entertainment has announced an always online shooter which will be an Xbox exclusive made for the Xbox 720, yet planned to be ported to the Xbox 360 by a separate developer. The debut title is expected to be published by Electronic Arts.

We can probably expect terrible customer service in that case, but back to the point.

Respawn Entertainment’s debut game will be a futuristic first-person mutliplayer shooter said to be a battle between Davids and Goliaths. It’s unknown whether those are the actual names of the teams, but it certainly brings to mind a battle of well-armed humans and towering mechs, and according to Kotaku, that’s right on the money.

The developers have told Kotaku, “The Davids are heavily armed foot soldiers. The Goliaths are giant exoskeletons — Titans — that these soldiers can pilot. These Titans are big, mech-style walkers that move with an agility not seen in games like Mechwarrior or Steel Battalion.”

In this case we’re guessing it will be about the same as the end battle from Metal Gear Solid, but on a larger scale.

It was discovered that Respawn Entertainment has applied for a Trademark to the name Titan, which may be the title of the game. Neither Electronic Arts or Respawn Entertainment could be reached for comment. Vince Zampella, however, has said that they do not intend to sit out the Electronic Entertainment Expo like 2K Games will, and has every intention of having something to show.

Jason West has been said to have left the company for “family issues,” leaving the issue open to even further speculation.

Willie Nelson would make a good Gandalf understudy, should anything every happen to Sir Ian McKellen.

In a Team Coco Interweb Exclusive, Nelson is decked out in Middle Earth attire and angling for a spot in the next Hobbit film, due out next year. What part would he like to play? That of Gandalf the Grey, of course. Well, “Gondolf.”

“Hey, Peter Jackson. My name’s Willie Nelson, and I want to audition for the role of Gondolf [and?] the wizard in that upcoming movie you got going called The Hobbit,” Nelson nonchalantly says.

The clip then cuts to Nelson’s audition reel, in which he wears a t-shirt under a felt cape and a wide-brimmed wizard’s hat. He’s also brandishing something resembling a wizard’s staff.

In costume, beset against the American flag itself, Nelson recites typical “Gondolf” lines like “Hey look at that dragon!” and “You shall not pass … an un-lit joint, man. That’s just not cool.”

He wraps up with probably the best argument as to why anyone should cast Willie Nelson in a film, ever.

“So that’s it, Peter. You can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy. He’s a good actor, but, hell, I’m Willie Nelson.”

The bad news? The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first in a new trilogy of Tolkien films, came out last year. In it, the role of Gandalf is already filled once again by Sir Ian McKellen. The good news? The clip is hilarious either way.

By the way, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes out on December 13 of this year while The Hobbit: There and Back Again comes out on December 17, 2013.

Rihanna is back on her illness interrupted “Diamonds” tour, and who better for the still allegedly recuperating star to party with than Lil’ Kim, right?

The “All About the Benjamins” rapper visited the Bajan singer backstage at her Atlantic City, New Jersey concert on Saturday.

From a look at the Instagrams both artists tweeted after their meet, it’s clear they both had a ball.

Despite pregnancy rumors, a very slender Rihanna greeted Lil’ Kim wearing a white laser cut Love Leather vest paired with grey sweats and black heels. 

In comparison her guest, who was known for her almost pornographic dress-style in her rap videos back in her prime, cut an almost conservative figure in white leggings and a light blue plume jacket.

Making faces for the camera, the pair posed backstage for a series of ‘fun’ shots in Rihanna’s dressing room. Tweeting her verdict on the New Jersey show, the Unapologetic singer later wrote:

#NEWJERSEY that’s what the phuck iz up!!!! #DiamondsWorldTour.”

So far on the “Diamonds” tour, Rihanna has canceled shows in Dallas, Houston, Boston and Baltimore and appears to be making up for lost time. The 25-year-old posted two Instagrams of herself on Saturday with her lips locked around a wine bottle.

In other Rihanna-related news, recent reports say the singer has big plans for boyfriend Chris Brown’s May 5 birthday when he turns 24. One report claimed she has spent over $1 million on a custom made Mercedes Benz, one of only 75 limited editions produced by the luxury brand.

A source told the UK’s The Sun newspaper: “She’s had it personalized with his initials on the red leather seats.”

If true, Brown will no doubt be delighted. Which is more than can be said for his  father. Speaking exclusively to the New York Daily News, Clinton Brown was quite the doomsayer.

In the interview, Clinton Brown said he wished his son hadn’t got back with his former girlfriend.

“I personally really didn’t want him and Rihanna back together,” the 48-year-old admitted. “You have to have a balance in a relationship.”

“You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical.”

Referring loosely to the 2009 incident in which his son battered Rihanna just days before the Grammys, it seems Brown senior thinks the songstress could be too much to handle.

“[Rihanna] would make a good mom,” the Virginia native said, but added. “I think she would probably have to change some of her antics, the party attitude would probably have to change.”

Although Clinton said he thought his son was probably attracted to the “exotic” and “successful” singer because she understands the pressures of the business, he is pessimistic about the couple’s future together.

“I don’t think they would just whimsically and spontaneously have a child with them being in this mode. That’s why I don’t see it happening — but anything’s possible, man.”

Bringing an even more sobering tone to the interview, Clinton reeled off a list of  artists who had met tragic and untimely ends.

“I hate to use examples,” he said. “But Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse — I mean I could go on and on! Is that a given — that you can’t have fortune and fame without [death] being the end result?”

Rihanna Gets Her Party On With Lil’ Kim, While Chris Brown’s Dad Talks Tragedy is a post from: The Inquisitr

Albequerque, NM —  A man was charged on Monday in the stabbings of four people at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. The stabbings happened on Sunday as the choir began its final hymn.

A man vaulted over several pews and lashed out at the singers with a knife, injuring four. Worshippers screamed as the chaotic scene unfolded. The attacker continued his assault until he was tackled and held down by church members for officers.

Police raced to the scene to arrest the suspect, 24-year-old Lawrence Capener. Included in the injured was church choir director Adam Alvarez and flutist Gerald Madrid, according to police spokesman Robert Gibbs. All four were listed in stable condition.

Capener was charged late Sunday on three counts of aggravated battery. He was held on $75,000 bail. It was not immediately clear what prompted the stabbings at the 11 am Mass on the city’s west side.

Reverend John Daniel, pastor of St. Jude Thaddeus, stated that Capener’s mother was “very active” in the parish. She serves there as a Eucharistic minister. Daniel added that Lawrence “was here occasionally but not very often.” Madrid spoke of how he tried to stop Capener during the stabbing, but was stabbed in the neck and back for his efforts. Madrid recalled:

“I bear-hugged him. We were chest to chest. I was wrapping about to take him down to ground, but I didn’t have his arms. I just had my arms around his chest, so his arms were free. So that’s when he started stabbing me.”

Madrid initially thought the suspect was punching hum, until other parishioners rushed to help him. It was then he realized he was stabbed five times. According to the criminal complaint against Lawrence Capener, the 24-year-old went after the choir leader because he thought the man was a Mason.

The suspect added that he stabbed the others who tried to stop him because he thought they were also Masons. In the affidavit, Capener apologized for stabbing the others after he was read his rights and agreed to speak with police. He added to investigators that Masons are a group involved “in a conspiracy that is far more reaching than I could or would believe.”

It is not clear when the suspect in the New Mexico church stabbings will make his next appearance in court.

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s handwritten records of his career and life, have been made available online  to his vast array of fans.

The author of The Great Gatsby kept records of his books, income, and various events that occurred through his life were kept in a book that were scribed by the author. You can now view this courtesy of the University of South Carolina.

One of the details from the book is that Fitzgerald made $2,000 from The Great Gatsby when it was published back in 1925.

This then increased after the film rights were sold for the novel just a year later, and he was awarded a further $16,666 for his effort.

These details have been made available just as a Hollywood adaptation of his seminal novel is set to hit the screens. The Great Gatsby is due out in the next few weeks, and is directed by Baz Luhrmann, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.

An English professor at the University of South Carolina, Park Bucker, remarked, “This is going to be an amazing thing for students to pore over and dip into. He created his own database. We do it on computers now, but he did it for himself.”

Elizabeth Sudduth, who is the director of the university’s library, stated, “This is a record of everything Fitzgerald wrote, and what he did with it, in his own hand. We know he didn’t spell very well. And his arithmetic wasn’t much better.”

The ledger documents his life between 1919 and 1938, is divided into five sections, and gives a year-by-year account of his life.

Fitzgerald also looks back on his birth with an autobiographical section. Scribing about February 1900, he wrote, “He celebrated the new century by swallowing a penny and catching the measles. He got rid of both of them.”

A bride’s kiss saved a guest at her wedding, in a situation that most wedding planning couples don’t consider when putting together their big day.

Of course, the bride’s kiss that saved a guest wasn’t a peck on the cheek — 24-year-old Kylie Cox of Cornwall in the UK was dancing with a male friend when something frightening happened, requiring the newlywed to think on her feet.

When Cox’s 28-year-old friend “keeled over” as they danced, the bride had to administer potentially life-saving CPR to stabilize him after the collapse.

Cox, a nurse, explains that her work training kicked in and helped her save the young man’s life:

“Our friend asked me for a dance, but while we were on the dance floor, he complained of feeling faint … I turned round to get him a chair and he collapsed. I rushed over and gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation … A bridesmaid, who is also a nurse, did the same and my uncle and another guest joined in to give him chest compression until the ambulance arrived.”

Cox and new husband Russell, also 24, had an intense wedding night after the bride kissed a guest — though not in the way most expect to:

“ … me and Russell spent the first night of our marriage at the hospital, because we didn’t know whether our friend was going to live or die … The doctors told us it was a miracle he survived … He only had one drink all day as he was driving. He’s still in hospital, but he’s going to make a full recovery.”

While guests stayed on after the bride’s kiss saved the guest, the kindly newlyweds left their own party at 8:30 PM to stick it out with their lucky buddy at the hospital — and now the pair hope to re-do their reception, this time with no near fatalities.

Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham had pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI.

The reality TV star’s quest to find a distributor for her sex tape has overshadowed the fact that she was pulled over for suspicion of driving under the influence last month. Although she blew a .147 at the time of her arrest in Nebraska, Abraham swears she isn’t guilty.

In addition to the DUI charge, the Teen Mom alum stands accused of disorderly conduct and refusing to take a field sobriety test. She pleaded not guilty to the other charges as well. She’s due back in court to deal with the situation on May 31.

The Omaha Police Department said that Farrah Abraham was arrested last month. After she was placed in the back of the police car, the reality star’s behavior soon became very peculiar. She reportedly started screaming and beating her head against the window.

Abraham believes that officers had no reason to approach her on the evening in question. Although she admitted to authorities that she was drunk, she claimed she wasn’t driving her car. Farrah insists she was only parking her vehicle at the time of her arrest.

She later told TMZ that her sister had put her in a “bad situation.” She also stated her cold and cough resulted in blowing a .147, which is twice the legal limit in the state of Nebraska.

Things aren’t completely terrible in Farrah’s world at the moment. It was announced today (April 29) that she managed to find a buyer for her staged sex tape. The folks at Vivid Entertainment ended up paying six figures for the video.

“We went after this movie as vigorously as any sex tape we’ve ever pursued. We felt it was definitely worth it, not only because of Farrah’s popularity, but because the footage itself is amazing,” Steve Hirsch explained on the company’s website.

Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man Of Steel, is now only a few weeks away, and in preparation for its release the director has been discussing the project.

With Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 looking set to eclipse the record toll grossed by The Avengers last year, Man Of Steel certainly faces a tough task in its attempts to beat the sum of money Robert Downey Jr’s effort has made.

Snyder, talking to SFX magazine, stated, “It’s a more violent experience. It’s raw. It takes effort to do it, and that’s what we were really going for. It’s almost like there’s this kind of Right Stuff quality to it.”

He then added, “He’s constantly booming around, accelerating. You think he’s going as fast as he can and then it’s like ‘Yeeaahhh!’ He’s always got an extra gear he can use.”

Snyder also revealed what Krypton looked like in his incarnation, remarking that he wanted it to “be this kind of special place that’s immersive and totally different from Earth, but not unbelievable.”

He added, “And ancient. I really wanted to give this ancient feeling to Krypton. I love technology that’s rusty because it’s so old. It’s so advanced, but it’s so old. That was the kind of world that I tried to create. A dying world that’s ancient and torn apart.”

Snyder also revealed his joy at Henry Cavill’s performance as Superman and Clark Kent, stating about his leading man, “God, he’s so Supermanish it’s crazy! There was a telling moment – we put him in the Christopher Reeve costume, because we didn’t have a suit yet, we just had the old spandex suit.”

He then added, “He stepped out of the trailer and no one laughed. It’s the difference between being Superman and dressing up like Superman. If I’m dressed up like Superman it’s like a Halloween costume. If you’re Henry it’s your clothes. It’s awesome. Watch the movie and you’re like ‘Holy s***, that’s Superman.” And it’s not weird or crazy, it’s just cool.”

Zack Snyder Discusses ‘Man Of Steel,’ Says It’s More ‘Violent’ is a post from: The Inquisitr

Force-feedings of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay prison camp are being questioned by the American Medical Association (AMA). The questions were raised as the Navy sent additional medical personnel to the detention camp in light of a growing hunger strike.

The hunger strike has expanded to include at least 100 of the 166 prisoners currently at Guantanamo. At least 21 of the hunger strikers are being force-fed nutrients.

The AMA questioned on Monday whether doctors were being asked to violate their code of ethics by forcing the prisoners to eat. Twenty-one of the hunger strikers have lost so much weight that they were being tied to chairs and fed liquid supplements through tubes inserted in their noses, going down into their stomachs.

Army Lieutenant Colonel Samuel House, a spokesman for the Guantanamo detention camp, added that five of the men were in the hospital for observation, though they do not have life-threatening conditions. The news comes as the reinforcements arrived, including about 40 nurses, specialists, and hospital corpsmen trained in basic medical care.

The president of the American Medical Association sent a letter to US Defense Secretary on Thursday, explaining again that it believes it is a violation of medical ethics to force-feed mentally competent adults who refuse food and life-saving treatment. The letter from Dr. Jeremy Lazarus stopped just short of asking Hagel to stop the Guantanamo force-feedings.

Instead, the letter from the AMA president urged the defense secretary “to address any situation in which a physician may be asked to violate the ethical standards of his or her profession.” Hagel recently returned from a trip to the Middle East, so it is not yet clear if he received the letter from Lazarus.

When asked if military doctors had raised any ethical concerns over the Guantanamo force-feedings, Pentagon spokesman Army Lieutenant Colonel Todd Breasseale stated. “I can tell you that we will not allow detainees to harm themselves, and this includes attempts at suicide — including self-induced and peer-pressured starvation to death.”

Military officials added that the Guantanamo force-feedings are being done gently, using soft, flexible, lubricated tubes.

Seeing a calorie count next to a bacon cheeseburger doesn’t exactly convince you not to eat, it does it? No, it doesn’t. That’s why there’s a push to put an “exercise cost” next to unhealthy food items to get you, the diner, to make a better choice.

An “exercise cost” is exactly what it sounds like. Let’s say you’re eyeballing a tasty dessert after dinner. The calorie count says, let’s say, 575 calories. That might not be enough to stop you from ordering, but imagine that next to the calories, there is another number: Two hours.

That’s the amount of “intensive walking” you would need to do in order to burn that dessert off. Now maybe you’re second guessing.

The reason is that the “exercise cost” puts calories in context, and that’s exactly what researchers at Texas Christian University thought when they performed a study on “exercise cost.”

The study followed 300 men and women under the age of 30, separated into three groups. Each group got menus with the same food choices. One group had just the food listed. The other had the food and calories. The third group had the food, the calories, and how many minutes of “brisk walking” it would take to burn off each selection.

They found that when confronted with the “exercise cost,” diners ordered less and ate less than those who just received food menus.

Maintaining proper nutrition requires fitness and wise food choices, but calorie intake can be deceptive, since it can be different for everyone. Besides, if all of your daily calories are carbs, you’re missing other vital food groups. So what good is the “exercise cost,” except to unfairly scare restaurant diners?

Well, it will probably help you avoid making nutritional choices that you believe to be harmless.

“If you were to go to a coffee shop and you saw that that muffin that you were going to have with your coffee would take two hours on a treadmill to burn off, you would probably think that’s hardly worth it for a muffin,” registered dietician Leslie Beck offered as an example.

The Pacific Rim trailer that was designed as WonderCon and CinemaCon exclusives have been released by the folks at Warner Bros.

As the release date for Guillermo del Toro’s sci-fi action flick draws near, fans having been clamoring for even more footage. Since Warner Bros. wants to get as many people in theaters this summer as possible, the studio has decided to release the official WonderCon trailer online.

Del Toro previously stated that the clip you see embedded below would only screen at WonderCon and CinemaCon. However, it would appear that both the director and the studio aren’t above giving in to the demands of their potential fans.

In addition to giving folks a closer look at cast members Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, and Ron Perlman, the latest Pacific Rim clip also showcases some particularly incredible footage featuring robots and monsters beating the stuffing out of one another.

One moment in particular finds one of the giant robots wielding what appears to be a battleship as it squares off against one of the monsters. The boat is dragged through the streets before being used as a club.

Once again, here’s the film’s official synopsis:

“When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. Warner Bros. and Guillermo del Toro are hoping that tons of people show up to see Pacific Rim when it hits theaters on July 12. Are you planning to catch the movie in theaters?

Despite numerous rallies by fans in Seattle, Washington, the Sacramento Kings will likely stay in California. The news came as a disappointment to many in the Northwest, who were stripped of their NBA team when the Seattle Supersonics were moved to Oklahoma City.

The new information came when an NBA ownership committee studying the situation voted unanimously that the Kings should remain where they are at.

A formal vote of all 30 owners is expected to take place on May 13. However, the full body is expected to ratify the recommendation made by the 12 owners of the relocation and finance committees.

The move is a victory for Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, who had no competing ownership bid, no plan for a new arena, and no working relationship with the team’s owners in January. But Johnson previously staved off a bid to move the Sacramento Kings to Anaheim in 2011.

Hedge fund manager Chris Hansen and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer agreed to purchase the Sacramento Kings from the Maloof family for a valuation of $525 million. They later upped the purchase price for 65 percent of the team to $550 million. But Johnson has organized a group of investors led by software company tycoon Vivek Ranadive.

Both Seattle and Sacramento have viable arena plans. However, the NBA ownership committee apparently decided Sacramento had the better option. Shortly after the vote, Sacramento mayor Johnson tweeted:

“That’s what I’m talking about SACRAMENTO!!!!! WE DID IT!!!!! I’ve never been prouder of this city. I thank the ownership group, city leaders, but most of all the BEST FANS IN THE NBA!!! I want to take my hat off to Seattle.you’re a great city,had a great proposal, unbelievable fans & no doubt deserve a team in the future.”

Along with declaring victory, the mayor commended Seattle for its effort to steal the Kings away, saying that the Pacific Northwest city “no doubt deserves a team in the future.”

Martha Stewart has decided to create an internet dating profile in order to find love.

The 71-year-old entrepreneur recently admitted that she was very close to joining the online dating website, but failed to do because she couldn’t take the questions she needed to complete in order to finish her profile seriously.

However, after appearing on the Today Show, she has now decided to join the website again, promising to complete her profile this time.

During the interview, Stewart revealed that she is currently looking for her “next Mr Right,” and she asked Match.com’s chief executive, Sam Yagan, “Do you think I could possibly, maybe, find a match, like many of my employees?”

Yagan then responded, “I think finding a soulmate for you might be a little bit difficult, but I think first dates are easily doable.”

Stewart, who has two grandchildren, was asked by Matt Lauer if  she would consider getting married again. She then stated, “It depends, I’d like to have breakfast with somebody. I’d like to go to bed with somebody. Sleep with somebody.”

Stewart even described the kind of man she is after, remarking, “I put out youngish … meaning active, energetic, outdoors-ish, really smart … successful is important – for him – tall-ish …”

Going into more detail about her profile, Stewart decided to use an alias, before Mr Yagan advised her to use a pseudonym instead, and that she shouldn’t put up photos, as “it would be distracting to those initial conversations you have.”

Stewart then added, “And I might get some crazies.” Talking about her love-life, Stewart stated that she is on the look out for her next lover, saying, “I’m always looking, are you kidding, all women are always looking. I had a longtime boyfriend. That ended a couple of years ago. And I haven’t found the next Mr. Right.”

2013 is shaping up to be the year of flat web design and if today’s rumor is correct Apple will follow suit with the release of iOS 7.

A new rumor from a source at 9to5Mac suggests that Apple’s next iOS version will be “very, very flat” in design.

The report suggests that Apple is looking for something along the lines of the Metro interface found on Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices.

While Apple has had success in creating intuitive interfaces many critics have often complained that the company’s attempts to make icons look exactly like their functions has been distracting. Case in point, the Calendar app with its leather daybook design.

Last year iOS head Scott Forstall was shown the door and iOS 7 will usher in the first Apple software platform to be controlled by his replacement Jonathan Ive. As you may be aware Ive is the mastermind behind Apple’s mobile hardware designs. According to sources  close to the project Ive is majorly opposed to skeuomorphism and has worked endlessly to end the practice with the Apple iOS 7 platform.

According to the report Apple is working to create “glance-able” information that works like the Notification Center. The goal appears to be along the lines of creating a system that can be viewed quickly while providing wanted and needed information.

There’s a good chance Apple is going for a “glance-able” design in response to the Google Now feature on Android phones which allows users to glance at their devices so they can quickly grab localized and relevant data.

Apple could show off iOS 7 at the WWDC in June and if it does some rumors today claims that the device would be unveiled in June and start shipping shortly afterwords.

Developers have not yet gotten their hands on iOS 7 and until they do any news of a potential release date will just have to wait.

The folks behind the proposed reboot of The Crow can’t seem to make up their minds who they want to tackle the iconic character.

It seems like only yesterday that Relativity Media was courting Thor star Tom Hiddleston for the lead role in the new movie. The actor even put together a reel of himself in full Crow make-up, a stunt which helped him land a dinner date with producers.

However, Deadline is currently reporting that Hiddleston is no longer being considered for the role of Eric Draven. Instead, True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard is now the prime candidate.

The website claims that what was a simple conversation was blown way out of proportion. Instead, it’s believed that producers are currently eyeing Skarsgard for the role. Since nobody seems to know what’s going on, it might not be wise to put your faith in this report either.

News of Hiddleston’s involvement seemed to originate from The Wrap. The site stated that Relativity was extremely interested in getting Loki to sign on for the project. All that reportedly stood in the actor’s way was a professional makeup test. Apparently this is no longer the case.

If you’ve been following this project for any length of time, then you know that directors and actors have been coming and going since its inception. When director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was attached to direct, it was being reported that Bradley Cooper would play Draven. That has since fallen through.

Since Relativity Media, Pressman Film, and Misher Films are having issues finding someone to star in the Crow reboot, it could be a while before it ever finds its way to the big screen. By that time, who knows if F. Javier Gutierrez will be behind the camera.

Joseph Gordon Levitt and Kristen Johnston, two stars of the hit 1990′s comedy, 3rd Rock from the Sun, reunited on Sunday in Los Angeles.

But fans of the extraterrestrial comedy who are dreaming of a reunion show will be disappointed, as they only got together to walk her dog in the beautiful weather.

The pair last appeared together on screen over a decade ago, where they starred in the NBC sitcom about aliens who came to earth, inhabited human bodies, and tried to learn more details about our lives.

It ran for 139 episodes, and also starred John Lithgow and French Stewart as Dick and Harry Solomon respectively. Johnston portrayed Sally Solomon whilst Gordon-Levitt played Tommy Solomon, which also featured Jane Curtin and Wayne Knight in recurring roles.

Since the show’s demise Gordon-Levitt has turned into one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors, starring in the likes of Premium Rush, Looper and The Dark Knight Rises.

Last year he made his directorial debut with Don Jon, which revolves around the titular character, played by Levitt, who is addicted to porn and is looking for a more gratifying sex life. He then falls in love with Scarlett Johansson’s Barbara and Julianne Moore’s Esther, and struggles to choose one over the other.

Meanwhile, Johnston has appeared in minor roles in the likes of Austin Powers and The Flinstones, but currently has a recurring role in The Exes, which has just had its third season ordered.

Meanwhile, last week it was reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt might be starring alongside Channing Tatum, who makes a cameo appearance in Don Jon, in a remake of the much loved musical, Guys and Dolls.

If they were to both sign on for the film they would be taking the places of Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando, who appeared in the 1955 classic.

Is Amber Heard dating Johnny Depp? That was the newest celebrity relationship rumor to start circulating on Monday afternoon after a photo of the rumored couple holding hands began surface around the interwebs.

The photo was taken during the Rolling Stones concert at Echoplex in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 27. In the photo the 49-year-old actor and his 27-year-old Rum Diary co-star are spotted casually holding hands.

The Stones concert was a star filled show with the likes of Gwen Stafani, Owen Wilson and Maria Shriver showing up to support the band and their 50-years of rock music performing.

Depp and Amber Heard met while filming Rum Diary back in 2011 and soon afterwards Johnny Depp and wife of 14-years Vanessa Paradis ended their relationship.

Shortly after Depp and Paradis went their own ways rumors of Depp’s romance with Amber Heard began to surface.

According to a source at Us Weekly Johnny Depp is so smitten with Amber that he recently had a bar built for her on his Bahamas property that exactly replicates the one in The Rum Diary. 

Depp and Heard took a private vacation to his Bahama’s home in April.

So are Johnny Depp and Amber Heard actually dating? All signs point to yes.

In the meantime Depp recently finished film on the Lone Ranger movie and he current has two movies in pre-production. Pirates of the Caribbean 5 was also recently announced for a 2015 release date.
