Tom Brokaw said that Lindsay Lohan has ruined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The news anchor said the actress’ appearance at last year’s event essentially destroyed any dignity the dinner had left. Brokaw went as far as describing the annual gathering as a “joke.”

Tom Brokaw said his problem with the event reached a boiling point when Greta Van Susteren brought Lindsay Lohan to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as her guest. Although several other questionable celebrities have attended the event in the past, the anchor said her appearance was the final straw.

“The breaking point for me was Lindsay Lohan. She became a big star at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Give me a break,” he explained to Politico.

He remarked that he was tired of the “sophomoric humor” and the way people act at the event when they’ve had a little too much to drink.

He added, “Why do we think to have a successful evening, you have to have Donald Trump as your guest of honor, for example, or Lindsay Lohan?”

Tom Brokaw publicly bashed the WHCD shortly after the event in 2012. He said on Meet the Press that the dinner essentially “separates the press from the people that they’re supposed to serve, symbolically.”

The anchor said he doesn’t intend to ever attend the event again.

According to The Huffington Post, this year’s dinner is so big that E! News will be covering it live. Notable celebrities that are expected to show up are Paul Rudd, Kevin Ware, Steven Spielberg, Gerard Butler, Ashley Judd, Claire Danes, Scarlett Johansson, and Jon Bon Jovi.

Ricky Gervais and Justin Timberlake have started a bizarre new internet picture craze after the comedian uploaded an image of himself and the singer laying on the floor pulling strange faces.

Gervais and Timberlake were attending a party at Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People party in New York, when they decided, after consuming a lot of free booze, to fall to the ground and take a picture.

The creator of The Office then tweeted, “@jtimberlake & I, lying on the floor at The Time 100 Most Influential People Gala. I blame the free booze..”

Late night TV show host Jimmy Fallon, who often has Timberlake on his programme as a guest, then decided to join in the fun, with the trio clearly enjoying each other’s company and joking around throughout the night.

A new account, @floorpics, has even been created as people across the world started to recreate the pose themselves.

After noticing that the trend was taking off, Gervais then remarked, “Who’s going to be the first to start @accidentalfloorpics & get pictures of sleeping tramps & people who have fallen over? Haha.”

Gervais then received a hoard of images, even responding to numerous posts. A user messaged the actor,”@callumcarlile1: My nanna fell over, she’s been like this for 2 weeks now,” with his picture showing an old woman on the floor in the pose. Gervais then stated, “Well go through her purse then.”

He even asked people to join in, encouraging, “You too could get an RT. Just get the oldest member of your family to lie on the floor and look unconscious. #oldfloorpics.”

However he did warn, “Please remember you must not force old people to get on the floor. Gently coax them down by placing biscuits on the carpet near a radiator.”

Gervais then spent the next few hours uploading pictures of people on the floor, recreating his image.

RED 2 has just landed a second trailer.

RED was the Bruce Willis vehicle that actually did well against The Expendables, also featuring the actor in a much smaller role. In spite of the overall hype, RED was much better received than the other, because it focused more on the humor than the action. Where The Expendables was an unintentional farce on action films, RED was made by a director who knew where he was going with it.

RED 2 is slated to hit theaters July 19, and stars Bruce Willis (Die Hard), John Malkovich (Con Air), Mary-Louise Parker (Red Dragon), Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones (Ocean’s Twelve), Byung Hun Lee, Brian Cox and Neal McDonough.

Retired CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is approached by Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) in a Costco and asked to help track down a portable nuclear weapon, after which there is an order given to assassinate him.

The second trailer for RED 2 begins with the aforementioned scene. As they drive along in an old car, Boggs fills Moses in on the situation, “96 hours ago, somebody said you and I took part in an operation called ‘Nightshade’.”

Someone explains to Frank Moses and the crew in the midst of scenery involving a military plane, “In the height of the Cold War, a megaton device was smuggled into Moscow piece by piece and then reassembled. The scientist was Edward Bailey.”

We then see Anthony Hopkins in a barred cell window, no doubt meant to elicit memories of his role in The Silence of the Lambs.

The explanation continues, “He’s in an asylum for the criminally insane.”

We see Frank Moses walk into the cell in disguise as a doctor, as Edward Bailey turns, “Frank Moses, my dear fellow! Why are you so old?”

Frank replies, “You’ve been locked up here for 32 years.”

A British man built a home made pipe bomb in his bedroom that accidentally set-off, and subsequently blew off his hand.

Martin Middleton, from Bolton, England, who has been described as being obsessed with bombs, decided to build his own device in the house that he shares with his pregnant fiancee, Kay Emerson. He apparently did so “for fun.”

However, in January this year, it blew up in his face, leaving him with severe burns and destroying several of his fingers.

After calling 999, police then turned up at his home and evacuated his entire street, which consists of 40 houses, and allowed bomb experts to investigate the area.

Middleton was then treated at a nearby hospital, however doctors couldn’t save the fingers which were lost in the explosion.

A witness said, “I saw a man slumped over the fence clutching his arm with his hand virtually hanging off. It looked really bad and he looked very pale.”

Another person who saw the incident, stated, “He is a bit of a rogue but I am really shocked at what happened. His girlfriend is pregnant and I thought he was getting back on the straight and narrow.”

Despite his injuries and obvious embarrassment, Middleton was arrested for his misdemeanour  and was admitted into court last week.

He pleaded guilty to causing an explosion that was likely to endanger life or injure a property under the Explosive Substances Act of 1883. He will be heard in court on June 14.

Middleton’s Facebook reveals his addiction to explosives. He even stated that he wanted to get an explosion tattooed on his arm, adding the caption, “kaboom.” However his mother vetoed the action, and banned him from getting the image.

He wrote next to a sketch,” i want but [it] a bit neater and want some colour in it 2. [but] mum won’t let me have a pipe bomb on my arm.”

Michael Bublé gave a surprise to some morning commuters on the New York City subway.

The 37-year-old crooner showed up with singers from the band Naturally 7 at the Lincoln Center subway stop to give an acappella performance to those waiting for their train. Michael Bublé sang the ballad “Who’s Lovin’ You” from his newest album, To Be Loved.

The acappella performance had many people stopping and taking pictures and videos of Michael Bublé, who was decked out in a black suit and tie.

The Grammy-winning singer said the acappella performance with Naturally 7 was an uplifting experience.

“Singing in the New York subway is something that’s been done for years and years, and I feel like it’s the most authentic, organic way to make music,” he said after the performance.

Bublé has been doing a lot of work to promote the new album, but said the surprise subway performance was the most enjoyable.”This is the thing I’m most excited about,” he said.
Bublé is no stranger to surprise performances. He’s featured in a famous viral clip where a mom near the front row calls out to tell Michael about her 15-year-old son’s singing ability. Thinking he would humor the woman, Bublé invited the boy on stage to sing a duet with him, and was floored by the powerful vocals.The clip comes from Bublé’s ITV1 documentary This is Michael Bublé.

While the crooner has been busy with promoting his new album, his home life has been equally hectic. He and his wife are expecting their first child, and on a visit to the Today show he said he’s hoping for a girl.

“Girls are always daddy’s girls, and boys want nothing to do with you,” Bublé said.

For anyone who’s interested, Michael Bublé posted the acappella performance on his YouTube page on Thursday, and within 24 hours it already garnered more than 330,00 views.

The lunar eclipse on Thursday night was something of a “blink and you’ll miss it” event — but, for the lucky few who saw the show, the so-called Pink Moon apparently made a great impression.

In this mini event, the moon had just about the teeniest, tiniest bit of earth’s inner shadow cast onto its surface that you can imagine and still call it any kind of eclipse. According to Universe Today, less than a measly 1.5 percent of the moon’s disc was thrown into full shadow.

And the event itself lasted a trifling 27 minutes, instead of the several hours that many lunar eclipses may take.

It wasn’t visible at all in the western hemisphere, but there were viewers in parts of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and even western Australia.

I think we’ve all seen lunar eclipses that are various shades of red and orange over the years. Therefore, most of us were intrigued by the nickname “Pink Moon.”

Alas, the name comes not from any possible chance that the moon would turn pink. Instead, it arises from the fact that the partial eclipse came in April, which links it to the spring flower season.

The pictures are starting to be sorted and posted on various sites.

I can highly recommend Space‘s photo album, which includes a fine shot of the partly eclipsed moon seen through flowering trees.

However, the Universe Today photo page is also a stand-out, particularly the shot that catches an airplane flying across the moon during the eclipse.

One tweet from Italy did a marvelous job of summing up the event:

Blue Ivy Carter and her parents Beyonce and Jay-Z recently took a stroll through the streets of Paris, France.

The happy couple were spotted in the city with their 15-month-old daughter in tow earlier this week. After enjoying the sights, all three enjoyed a quick bite to eat at Septime.

“Blue Ivy was laughing and screaming and seemed to be having so much fun. Every so often Jay-Z would kiss the baby and then kiss Beyonce. They looked like a really loving, happy family,” a witness explained to the folks at Us Weekly.

Beyonce is taking her daughter on a glimpse of Europe while she tours with the Mrs. Carter Show. The singer explained to E! Online that she intends to start trying for another child as soon as the tour comes to an end.

For the time being, Beyonce is giving Blue Ivy a chance to see the world from a performer’s perspective.

Another anonymous source reportedly told Us Weekly:

“Bey always planned to bring Blue with her on tour. Now, instead of just going from country to country and working, [Beyonce] is loving getting to see the world through Blue’s eyes, it’s like seeing it all from the first time again. This whole trip has been a big mother and daughter bonding experience for Bey.”

The Mrs. Carter Show kicked off on April 15 in Belgrade, Serbia. The 61-stop tour will take the singer and her daughter all over the world. She will return to the US for the North American leg of her tour beginning June 28.

If you’re at all interested in getting shots of Beyonce while she’s on tour, then they better do it when she’s not on-stage. The singer made the controversial decision to ban all professional photographers from the shows.

A bus crash in Afghanistan killed 45 people on Friday when the vehicle collided with the wreckage of a truck attacked by Taliban insurgents.

The battered oil tanker was left by the insurgents in the middle of a narrow road near the border of Kandahar and Helmand provinces in southern Afghanistan. Police had considered the area too dangerous to enter.

But the bus smashed into the truck just before sunrise on Friday. The oil inside caused the bus to burst into flames, according to Abdul Razaq, the provincial police chief of Kandahar.

Javeed Faisal, the spokesman for the governor of Kandahar province, stated that 45 people were killed in the Afghan bus crash, while 10 were injured. Police, soldiers, and ambulances rushed to the scene, located in a desolate area of the Middle Eastern agency.

Many of the victims of he fiery crash were burned beyond recognition. Razaq added that it will be difficult to establish their identities. Mohammad Habib, one of the collision’s survivors, cried as he searched for his brother, who was also aboard the bus. Habib said:

“I don’t care about my belongings and money that were burned inside the bus, but please help me find my brother, dead or alive. How will I face my mother without him?”

The bus was on its way from the capital of Helmand province. It was scheduled to stop in Kandahar city, then travel north to the Afghan capital of Kabul. The survivors were taken to Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar city, including men, women, and children.

Traffic accidents are fairly common in Afghanistan, which has a mix of people who ignore the rules of the road, as well as a mix of cars, trucks, bikes, pedestrians, and animals. Roads outside Kabul are also often poorly maintained. Those who travel on them can be subject to roadside bombs and even highway robberies.

Employee engagement is on its way back up despite a still-struggling economy, but according to new Gallup research, morale improvement in the workforce is decidedly top-down.

In short, your boss enjoys his job more than you do.

Engagement was up in eight of the nine sectors measured, with “managers, executives and officials” showing the best increases: 10 percentage points between 2009 and 2012. On the other end, manufacturing and sales employees had five and six percent increases, respectively. Other professions reported only slightly greater engagement than in 2009.

Increases across the board are definitely a good, but even Gallup was somewhat puzzled by the dramatic difference between management and workforce.

“It is possible that, amid tough economic times, managers and executives are increasingly motivated to drive a sense of purpose in their organizations,“ they reasoned.

They also suggested that managers may be more optimistic about the recovering economy and enjoy a greater sense of control that those lower on the ladder.

Interestingly, the service industry showed something of a reversal. Years ago, they were the most engaged while now, it is the only sector surveyed where engagement fell.

“During the recession people were happy just to have a job,” remarked Kate Lister, president of Global Workplace Analytics. “Now, those that are most marketable are feeling more confident in their options.”

A National Employment Law Project report last year showed that post-recession job gains were primarily service industry jobs. Lower-wage occupations amounted to 21 percent of recession losses, but 58 percent of recovery growth. Between 2010 and 2012, 1.7 million jobs (43 percent of net employment growth) came in food service, retail and employment services sectors.

Because of this, there’s sort of a fear still lingering in the job market: Lower-level employees are pretty replaceable, and they know it. “There’s a lot of fear remaining,” Lister said.

“It is much easier to be engaged in a job that you expect to hold for the foreseeable future (than) a job that you could lose at any time,” said Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research.

Two N.J. girls could face charges for releasing a “murder list” video online.

The 12-year-old students recently posted a clip that listed all of the people they wanted to kill. One girl filmed the threats while the other named all of the individuals on their list. The New Jersey girls have been suspended from School 27 and the YouTube video was removed on Thursday.

The 20-minute video reportedly include a complete list of classmates and school administrators the girls would like to murder. The pair laugh at various points in the clip.

“Wouldn’t you guys think I’d be the best assassin ever. I have special killing thingies for different people.” one of the N.J. girls says in the “murder list” video. She later explains how she would stab one of her targets to death.

Parents have been understandably outraged by the video. Angelica Marrero explained to CBS Local that her daughter wake up in the middle of the night in terror.

“My daughter, she woke up about four times last night, to lock the doors. She woke up with nightmares,” she explained. “We’re concerned parents here — the child obviously needs help.”

Many parents were upset that school officials didn’t address the situation sooner. During a special meeting at School 27 on Thursday, Mayor Jeffrey Jones said that he didn’t believe that the girls posed a serious threat to students and faculty.

Mayor Jones explained to the concerned parents:

“I’ve not been given any specific details, but all indications are no. It’s serious enough for us to have this investigated, especially because of the current climate we’re in. Let’s hope that it was just frustrations and emotions and they didn’t mean anything, but we can’t sit back and just hope.”

It’s currently believed that the girls could face several charges as a result of the video they uploaded to YouTube. However, police have yet to comment on the situation as of this writing.

Mike Huckabee is blaming Hillary Clinton for the Benghazi coverup.

As previously reported The Inquisitr, the Hillary Clinton Benghazi allegations came earlier this week when the House of Representatives released a 43 page Benghazi report that also accused President Obama of failing to anticipate a terrorist attack could happen on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This came shortly after Benghazi whistleblowers were told to find lawyers to protect themselves against the government.

It was previously uncovered that someone in Hillary Clinton’s State Department gave Charlene Lamb the idea that there was “too much political cost” for keeping the Benghazi security forces at safer levels. Instead, they lowered the number of diplomatic security agents in Benghazi from 34 to just three. The Hillary Clinton Benghazi allegations also says White House and senior State Department officials “altered accurate talking points drafted by the intelligence community in order to protect the State Department.”

Although she accepted fault for the general failure of the State Department, Hillary Clinton previously denied having anything to do with lowering the security of Benghazi. But the Benghazi report cites documents signed by Hillary Clinton that “articulates a plan to scale back security assets for the U.S. Mission in Libya, including the Benghazi Mission.”

Mike Huckabee chimed in on the Benghazi report, blaming Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration:

“Our diplomats died in Libya, but the questions refuse to die…When former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was grilled by Congress about her department’s actions on the night four Americans were killed in Benghazi, she snapped, “What difference does it make?” Well, it might make a big difference, if voters read Congress’ report. It concludes that the Administration had plenty of warnings, but failed to heed them or to give the military authority to respond. They also find Secretary Clinton was responsible for cutting security at the US consulate despite knowing of the threats and the pleas for more security, and that the Administration lied to downplay terrorism, first by blaming a YouTube video, then falsely claiming they were trying to protect an FBI investigation. The White House will dismiss it as a partisan attack, but it’s the result of months of investigations by five House committees. I suspect that anyone who claims to have read it and is still unconcerned about the people in charge of our Middle East security is lying to cover up that they didn’t really read it.”

Iron Man 3 is in theaters on May 3, but some critics got an early peek. See what they had to say.

Iron Man 3 follows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as he battles some inner demons, including alcoholism in a part that Disney cut. Tony is struck down and stranded by the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), who is determined to make sure Iron Man learns his lessons. In the meantime, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) suit up to help him as Rescue and Iron Patriot, respectively.

The film stars Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr., and Ben Kingsley, and is directed by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon). On the most part, the critics found it favorable.

Iron Man 3 dives further into Tony Stark’s psyche, showing us his weaker side after he seemingly loses everything. After the events of The Avengers, Tony is suffering from PTSD (post-traunatic stress disorder) and is having a hard time just dealing with reality. At the same time, a madman called the Mandarin is hijacking US airwaves to dole out threats, and nobody seems to know his identity, location, or reasons, other than to deliver “lessons”.

Tony Stark never seems to get old as he dishes out sardonic quips and one-liners, thanks to his exceptional lingual dexterity. This is the Tony Stark we loved in the first film. The super suit is regularly donned, but on multiple occasions, we aren’t aware of who is really in it, delivering some clever twists. Stark himself is still the genius messing with his suit and trying to make them better and better while Pepper Potts runs the show in the public eye. And yes, they’re a couple, even if they’re having problems.

The Mandarin is a convincingly diabolical terrorist, setting off bombs with no explosives behind them, and making Tony Stark wonder if it’s really Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) who is behind the destruction. He is suspicious of the man after he approaches Pepper Potts with a new technology called Extremis.

Iron Man 3 is the strongest film in the series, and definitely worth seeing.

Rejoice! McDonald’s may serve their breakfast menu all day, every day at some point in the near future.

The fast food industry is changing quickly, and McDonald’s is doing everything it can to stay in the lead. Tons of changes are coming to McD’s in the near future, but 24/7 breakfast might be the most appealing.

In a wide-ranging interview with CNBC, McDonald’s President and CEO Don Thompson talked at-length about new options the fast food chain is considering. When asked if all-day breakfast could happen, Thompson hinted that it wasn’t out of the question.

“Yes, we would consider it,” Thompson said, adding, “We have the focus on our existing menu, but we have looked at breakfast across the day. We have it in some markets around the world.”

He also said that they were looking at “innovative ways” to expand breakfast hours. “I think we’ll be seeing some of those things in the near future,” he teased.

Other new things on the way for McDonald’s include delivery services, which they are testing “in a big way” in densely populated area in the U.S. as well as other countries. According to Thompson, ”delivery is a big, big opportunity, particularly in areas where you don’t have drive-throughs.”

Burger King started offering delivery in Washington D.C. early last year, and has since expanded to Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City and San Francisco.

They’re also thinking of implementing a potential customer ”rewards loyalty program,” with Thompson admitting he “loves the idea,” adding, “we might see something like that in the future.”

McDonald’s is also angling for the “millennials,” or digital age customers who prefer healthier options and more complex flavors. Thompson says that new items like the wraps and smoothies are meant to answer these demands.

“Tastes have been changing and it’s just that we as McDonald’s have continued to evolve,” Thompson said.

Chris Pine has split with his girlfriend Dominique Piek.

The pair made their romance public when they appeared on the red carpet together at the Cannes Film Festival in May of 2012. The two had been dating since 2011.

Although Pine and Piek are no longer a couple, apparently the decision to call it quits was mutual.

“They both needed their space. She has been very busy with her modeling work and traveling. He’s got ‘Star Trek’ and his other projects keeping him busy,” an insider explained to Us Weekly.

The source added, “It’s hard for two people at their age and on their level. They’ll both be just fine, though.”

Although the split has been reported by anonymous individuals and unnamed sources, Chris Pine has not officially announced the split.

Although the folks at E! Online have approached his camp for comment, the actor’s representatives have remained tight-lipped on the subject.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Chris Pine has split with one of his famous girlfriends. The Star Trek Into Darkness star was previously linked to Olivia Munn and Audrina Patridge.

As the source suggested, the actor will probably be just fine. Pine is currently involved in a number of cinematic projects that currently demand his undivided attention.

In addition to the upcoming Star Trek sequel, Chris Pine is taking over the lead role in the Jack Ryan franchise. The next installment of the series, aptly-titled Jack Ryan, is currently in post-production. The film movie, which was directed by Kenneth Branagh, also features Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner.

Pine is also attached to star in director Michael Patrick Jann’s Mantivities. Although very few details are available about the project right now, it’s expected to arrive at some point in 2014.

Kylie Bisutti could be an inspiration to us all, but probably not for the reasons she wants us to believe. The best fib is often a bold one. Like the man said, a lie is halfway around the world before the truth gets its boots on, and boy did the self-promoting failed model pull a fast one on us.

The 23-year-old Bisutti is now promoting her new memoir, I’m No Angel: From Victoria’s Secret Model To Role Model. Hey, all’s fair in love and book promotion, but apparently she went over the top in an interview published in Wednesday’s New York Post.

In that lengthy in-depth piece, she claimed that she gave up a multimillion dollar modeling career to retire to Montana and volunteer for her church and just generally be a disgustingly holy wife to her husband, who may have thought he was marrying a model.   And I’m sure the church would much rather have some housewifey read to kids for free in Sunday school than get a hefty 10 percent tithe of a Victoria’s Secret model’s income.  Yeah, right.

But Bisutti said that VS made her feel like “a piece of meat” and that they kinda, sorta wanted to pimp her out to powerful guys.   Hmm.

But if you read between the lines of the Post interview, it sounds like what she really gave up was a chance to continue modeling for FHM and Maxim. And maybe that’s exaggerated too?

In any case, Victoria’s Secret is not taking the outrageous claims lying down. They fired back with a blunt statement that painted Kylie Bisutti as either a mentally ill fantasist or an outright liar:

“Ms. Bisutti has made numerous fabrications and misstatements of fact regarding her brief association with Victoria’s Secret. In 2009, Ms. Bisutti won an online amateur modeling competition and hasn’t worked for us since that year…She was never a Victoria’s Secret Angel as defined by the terms of our Angel model contract. And contrary to Ms. Bisutti’s claims, she was never offered any subsequent modeling contracts despite her multiple appeals for further work.”

If she was never a Victoria’s Secret Angel, why were we so quick to believe that she was? I can’t speak for anybody else, but I think I was taken in because of the extensive detail that she provided to back up her story — and because those details played to all of the stereotypes we want to believe about models.

Whackadoo diets? Check. She said she got down to a near anorexic weight of 108 pounds on a diet of pineapples, watermelon, and water.

Creepy photographers? Check. Some dude got her to pose in a sheer blouse which she later found on a porn site…although I’m not sure why this good Christian lady was browsing a porn site.

You know, a good confabulation can serve its purpose even if you get caught. Bisutti may have never been a Victoria’s Secret Angel for one minute, and lying isn’t widely considered part of the Christian ideal either, but one thing’s for sure.

The whole brouhaha will sell more of Kylie Bisutti’s books.

Harvey Weinstein took off the gloves and blasted Google for “stealing content” at a Creativity Conference in Washington, The Wrap reported on Friday.

According to the website, Weinstein warned that the failure to compensate performers and content providers for YouTube videos would result in a community of “starving artists.”

“Look at Chicago. If you go to YouTube, you can download nine songs. There are 13 songs in the entire movie, pretty much 70 or 80 minutes of it. Nobody is getting paid for that. Neither Rob Marshall who directed, me, nor the studio. Nothing,” Weinstein said.

(According to The Richest, Weinstein is currently starving to the tune of a $150 million net worth.)

“It’s a very creative business plan: Use somebody else’s content for free. Deliver it. Don’t pay them for anything. And build a $500 billion Silicon Valley company and be very, very rich,” Weinstein said. “And then have these slogans like, ‘We just want to help the world.’”

(Google’s slogan is “do no evil.”)

Weinstein was also angry about the state of new media, adding, “As we see magazines erode, as we see journalism destroyed, as we see newspapers destroyed, we see their houses get bigger, their planes get bigger and bigger and bigger.”

And here, Harvey Weinstein wasn’t talking about just Google: “They are all like this. They are all not paying for content … They are all stealing it under the guise of, ‘We are all hippies,’ but hippies don’t have $22 billion valuations.”

Weinstein’s comments forged a different path than HBO programming president Michael Lombardo, who earlier this month told Entertainment Weekly that Game of Thrones, the most illegally downloaded program of 2012, did not experience a negative impact in DVD sales as a result of tormenting.

Lombardo even told EW it was “a compliment of sorts.”

No one asked Weinstein about the common practice of “Hollywood accounting” that essentially turns films as profitable as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix into $167 million losers. The Potter film earned $938 million in revenue on a budget of $150 million, yet Warner Brothers tried to project it at a loss.

Essentially under “Hollywood accounting,” cast, crew, marketing, and anyone else associated with the production outside of the studio itself is screwed out of money even when a film rakes in record profits, no doubt resulting in more than a few “starving artists.” Studios usually set up a corporation for each film and then slap the company with a hefty fee (to be paid to the studio), resulting in a loss.

In other words, they’re paying themselves and then saying they lost money to avoid paying back-end royalties.

Meanwhile, a recent study found that piracy can actually help independent films gain exposure.

Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep are currently in talks to star in the big-screen adaptation of Into the Woods.

The folks at Disney are apparently very interested in bringing Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway show to theaters at some point down the road. If executives have it their way, then Depp and Streep will star in the proposed motion picture.

Into the Woods director Rob Marshall worked with Johnny Depp on the fourth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Variety describes the story as follows:

“[The] musical revolved around a childless baker and his wife who attempt to lift a family curse by journeying into the woods to confront the witch that put the spell on them. Along the way, they encounter Rapunzel, Cinderella, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’s’ Jack Little Red Riding Hood and other classic fairy tale characters.”

Johnny Depp is in talks to star as the baker in the big-screen version of Into the Woods. It’s currently believed that Meryl Streep will play the witch in the flick.

This isn’t Depp’s first musical adaptation. The acclaimed actor previously worked on the big-screen adaptation of Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Barber Street with Tim Burton.

The charismatic actor is also slated to star in award-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut Transcendence. Depp will portray a scientist who is pursued by terrorists after his brain is uploaded into a computer system. Emily Blunt, Rebecca Hall, and Rooney Mara are all being considered for the role of the hero’s wife.

Since Depp apparently likes to stay very busy, he is also attached to star in the Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass. The movie is rumored to begin production at some point over the summer.

Jennifer Aniston is engaged to Justin Theroux, but there won’t be  prenup to protect all that money she made from Friends and all those movies.

Justin has worked most of his life as an actor, but he hasn’t done anything to bring him anything near the financial rewards that Jennifer earns from being on one of the most successful sitcoms in the history of TV. It was Justin’s idea to sign a prenup to protect Jennifer’s fortune. Jennifer declined the offer.

According to OK! magazine, “She told several friends: ‘I’m choosing love, not money and people are just going to have to deal with it.’’

In 2007, Forbes ranked Jennifer Aniston in the number 10 spot on its list of the 20 richest women in entertainment. Her net worth was listed by the magazine at $110 million. Since then, Aniston has earned several huge pay checks from movies and launched a perfume called “Jennifer Aniston.”

In contrast, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Justin Theroux’s net worth is estimated to be about $10.5 million.

Theroux told Entertainment Weekly in 2004 that he turned down a screen test for the Friends pilot, ”Who wouldn’t want to be a bazillionaire, but I don’t really regret it.”

He prefers writing over acting. He co-wrote the screenplays for Rock of Ages, Iron Man 2, and Tropic Thunder.

Jennifer Aniston says it’s just a rumor that she and Justin hooked up during the filming of Wanderlust in Georgia. She met him while he was writing Tropic Thunder, but the couple didn’t start dating until 2011.

Jennifer and Justin were expected to get married this month, but answering questions at the premiere of her movie, Call Me Crazy, Jen told reporters that too much planning might make her crazy, “[It's] something that will probably come together at the last minute.”
