Hulk Hogan has won a major battle in the war over his sex tape. A judge has ordered Gawker  to remove their heavily-edited minute-long clip of the half-hour tape, as well as the (brilliant) article framing it, and hundreds of reader comments. Gawker’s response to the legal order? F— you.

Let’s rewind. Last year, Hulk filed a $100 million federal lawsuit against Gawker after they uploaded a short clip of the sex tape he made with Heather Clem, the then-wife of Hulk’s friend Bubba the Love Sponge (yes, real guy). Accompanying the tape was a 1,400-word epic analysis of the tape by former editor A.J. Daulerio.

Hulk cited invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress, but failed to win the case.

So what does he do? He re-files in the state of Florida, where Judge Pamela Campbell of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County saw fit to grant him a temporary restraining order, which forces Gawker‘s editors to pull the video, article, et al from the site.

But Gawker has no intention of going quietly. John Cook, editor of Gawker, wrote his own epic analysis of the Hulk Hogan sex tape case this afternoon. Though we can hardly do it justice by paring it down into quotes and the like here (it’s best if you just go read it for yourself), the gist of it is “No, f— you very much.”

Though in the end Gawker complied by removing the tape from the post (pending their appeal), they absolutely refuse to bring down Daulerio’s post.

Cook writes that the “order compelling us to remove the entirety of Daulerio’s post—his words, his speech—is grossly unconstitutional.”

They also liberally included outside links to other pages where you can watch the Hulk Hogan sex tape.

Danica Patrick’s divorce has been finalized.

According to RGJ, Patrick and her now ex-husband Paul Hospenthal officially finalized their divorce on April 17. Court documents filed in Maricopa County, Arizona, said that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

Patrick announced that she was getting a divorce from her husband back in November.

The NASCAR star wrote on Facebook:

“I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”

Fox Sports reports that Patrick and Hospenthal have no children together. According to Fox News the two entered into a pre-nuptial agreement before they wed back in 2005.

Patrick’s divorce was finalized this month but the NASCAR star hasn’t wasted anytime to find a new love interest. She recently started dating fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Danica recently became the first woman to earn the pole position at the Daytona 500. She ended up taking 8th at the race, the best finish for a woman in history, and is currently 25th in the Sprint Cup standings.

Anyone looking to watch the 2013 NFL Draft live online better be up for some surprises.

This year’s draft has a greater degree of uncertainty than in past seasons, thanks mostly to a weaker-than-usual crop of quarterbacks. With no top signal callers to pencil in at the top of the draft, NFL experts are in some disagreement over who will be selected No. 1 by the Kansas City Chiefs.

There isn’t much debate over the draft’s top player themselves  — which include offensive tackles Eric Fisher of Central Michigan and Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M and defensive tackles Sheldon Richardson of Missouri and Star Lotulelei of Utah. But there’s no consensus of which player rises to the top.

Luckily, any NFL fans can have a chance to watch the draft live online. and see for themselves who gets picked No. 1 (and who Jets fans get to boo).

Jurassic Park 4 and Godzilla are just two of the upcoming movies that are rumored to shoot in Hawaii at some point in the near future.

The next installment of the popular dinosaur-oriented franchise is expected to film on Kauai. However, specific dates have not been released as of this writing. If all goes according to Universal Pictures’ master plan, the movie will be in the can and ready to roll by next summer.

Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow will helm the project from a script by writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Details about the movie, including the cast and the story, have yet to be revealed. News that the film is slated to shoot in Hawaii suggests the project is moving forward.

Director Gareth Edwards’ highly-anticipated Godzilla reboot will shoot in the region later this year. Pacific Business News explains that the production is expected to spend a month filming on Oahu and before moving to Kauai. The cast and crew will spend a month there as well.

Jurassic Park 4 and Godzilla aren’t the only films that intend to set up shop in the state in the coming months. Director Cameron Crowe will reportedly shoot his upcoming romantic comedy Deep Tiki in the region. The movie stars Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams.

Rounding out this list of projects set to film in Hawaii is the next installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Since the movie isn’t expected to arrive in theaters until 2015, it’s unknown when production will begin.

Despite these reports, officials from the Hawaii Film Office have yet to confirm anything about the projects. However, one individual did explain that the state is a highly “sought-after” place for movies to shoot.

Jurassic Park 4 is slated to arrive in theaters on June 13, 2014. Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla will be released on May 16, 2014.

Electronic Arts is facing even more layoffs.

Two major co-publishers are being shut down, resulting in massive layoffs for Electronics Arts. This just hasn’t been their year, and many gamers are likely finding smug satisfaction in it. After releasing SimCity 5 and a patch that only made it worse, gamers everywhere expressed outrage, even getting banned from the game just for complaining about it. Then Electronic Arts, after learning they were voted the worst company of the year, reportedly responded with utter sarcasm.

We’re thinking the reason Electronic Arts was voted so strongly that way is that instead of apologizing, they banned complainers, censored their own customer support number on their forums, and issued a snarky retort about how much worse other companies are. It’s called karma.

One such co-publisher was EA Partners, whose games included Rock Band, Portal 2, and Crysis. Rock Band was perhaps the most ambitious of the group, taking the home-based music performance genre to a new level with singing and drums, and the inclusion of some of the biggest bands of our time. Portal 2 was the sequel to a game that blew our minds with a whole new element of gameplay, where your weapon actually created doorways that bent physics in creative ways. Crysis was a sneak-or-shoot first-person romp through a futuristic war setting.

Also facing the layoff trend at Electronic Arts is PopCap Vancouver and Quickline Games, adding to a long trend of layoffs in the gaming industry.

“In recent weeks, EA has aligned all elements of its organizational structure behind priorities in new technologies and mobile.  This has led to some difficult decisions to reduce the workforce in some locations.  We are extremely grateful for the contributions made by each of our employees – those that are leaving EA will be missed by their colleagues and friends. These are hard but essential changes as we focus on delivering great games and showing players around the world why to spend their time with us.”

This is the work of graphic artist Drew Sheppard, otherwise known as Lone Star Ball community member DShep. Drew posted his Yu Darvish GIF in the comments section of Lone Star Ball‘s Thursday links post.

This glorious GIF shows Darvish pitching five perfect-as-can-be balls to Albert Pujols.

Darvish’s backstop barely has to move to receive any of these, while Darvish’s own stance and positioning is almost inch-perfect every time.

Impressive stuff right there. It’s hardly surprising Pujols misses all five.

Darvish has been in mean form recently. Wednesday night saw the 26-year-old strike out 11 Angels as Texas dismantled the Los Angeles Angels over the course of six shutout innings. It was the pitcher’s 11th double-digit strikeout performance in 34 major league starts.

Against the Angels, Darvish (4-1) allowed three hits over six scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to an impressive 1.65 after Texas had established an 11-0 lead.

An elderly woman swallowed a $5000 diamond this weekend at a charity event in Tampa, Florida.

According to Wgal, a local jeweler donated a $5000 diamond to the Tampa Women’s Club for a charity event. The diamond was placed into a champagne glass and the glasses were handed out to the 400 women who were present.

The organizers waited to hear someone scream with joy as they discovered the diamond in the glass but no one said anything as they drank their champagne.

Andrew Meyer, a partner at Continental Wholesale Diamond, told ABC Action News: “We were going table to table. There were 400 flutes so were going quickly table to table and in the end there was no diamond.”

Well, there was a diamond. But a woman ended up swallowing it while she sipped her champagne.

As luck would have it, Marian had a colonoscopy scheduled for that week. When she entered the doctors office she said that they might find something strange in her rectum. And, as it turns out, they did.

Doctors removed the diamond but just to make sure that it was real, and not some other diamond that she had swallowed, Mariam went to the jewelers to have it verified.

Joy Pierson, one of Continental Wholesale Diamond’s partners, said: “She came with it in a bio-hazard bag and it wasn’t even cleaned.”

Joe and Tina Simpson are officially divorced.

After filing papers last September, the Simpsons had their divorce finalized by a Texas judge on April 22. The court papers said the marriage had “become insupportable because of the discord or conflict of personalities between [Tina] and [Joe]” which prevented “any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”

As part of the divorce settlement, Tina Simpson agreed to a 50 percent split of the couple’s fortune and assets, which includes the multimillion fashion line she manages for daughter Jessica.

When the couple’s split was announced last fall, a representative for the family said, “It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false.”

The rep was addressing rumors that Joe Simpson was having an affair with a 20-year-old male. An unnamed source told the National Enquirer that Simpson gathered his family and told them he tried to make his marriage work, but he could no longer deny that he had feelings for men. A male escort had also claimed that Simpson paid him $600 for sex.

The former Baptist pastor promptly denied the accusations, calling them “ridiculous.” The young man with whom Simpson was allegedly having affair, a model named Bryce Chandler Hill, also denied the rumors, writing on Twitter, “Yes, I’ve read the story …  it’s simply NOT TRUE.”

While Joe and Tina Simpson are finally split up, their family is about to get a little bit bigger. Jessica Simpson is currently pregnant with her second child, a son, with fiancé Eric Johnson. She is already mom to daughter Maxwell, who will be a year old on May 1. And that’s not all. The two are also grandparents to daughter Ashlee’s son, 4-year-old Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

A HIV vaccine study has failed, causing the US government to halt the study. The vaccine was not able to prevent HIV infection from spreading in some of the study’s volunteers.

The trials were kicked off in 2009 and had about 2,500 people enrolled in 19 cities. The “HVTN 505 clinical trial” consisted of male participants who have sex with men, as well as transgender people who have sex with men.

Half of the participants received an experimental vaccine developed by the National Institutes of Health, while the others received placebo shots.

The HIV vaccine trial had a safety review on April 22, which found that more volunteers who received the vaccine became infected with HIV than with the placebo. The safety review also found that the vaccine was not able to reduce the amount of HIV virus in the blood of people who had already been diagnosed with the disease. They were tracked for 20 weeks of follow-up.

They saw 41 cases of HIV in the volunteers who received the failed HIV vaccine, while 30 people who received the dummy injections tested positive for HIV. Despite the difference, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases — a branch of the NIH — noted that the increase in HIV infections in vaccine-takers versus the placebo group was not statistically significant.

The NIH released a statement on Thursday, saying that the HIV vaccine study failed. While they will not give more vaccines, they will continue to study the health of the volunteers. The agency added:

“NAID remains committed to the pursuit of a highly effective, preventive HIV vaccine as part of a multifaceted HIV prevention research program.”

Multiple attempts at creating an AIDS and/or HIV vaccine have been made over the years. So far, all attempts have failed. Despite the lack of complete success, researchers try to continue the fight for a cure and/or prevention method for the potentially deadly disease.

Iron Man director Jon Favreau opened up at the Iron Man 3 premiere last night on how he struggled to get the film of the ground.

Iron Man was a breakthrough in film. It was one of the first times a superhero movie was done right in the eyes of the most skeptical fans, mostly due to the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and it was a perfect fit. Tony Stark is a character whose alcoholism and carefree attitude makes him difficult to work with, and the actor playing the role has a very similar past.  And it seems Jon Favreau had trouble getting Robert Downey Jr..

Even more surprising was the inclusion of the Black Sabbath song “Iron Man” in the film, making it more iconic than ever.

The video starts with Scott Mantz saying, “…all started five years ago with you…”

Jon Favreau replies, “Is that it? Five years? It seems so much longer, doesn’t it?”

Scott Mantz, ever smiling, adds, “No, it really doesn’t.”

Jon Favreau continues, “I was pulling up here on Hollywood Boulevard … wax museum has a big screen up there, and I saw what looked like it was Robert [Downey Jr.]. It was [Robert], a photograph of his wax sculpture in the Iron Man pose from the first film and I’m like, ‘How much has changed since we first did the first film?’ And now it’s part of the world culture.”

Scott Mantz says, “Three Iron Man films and an Avengers film.”

Jon Favreau responds, “Yeah. And Avengers 2, yeah, with him in it.”

Scott Mantz asks, “Your movie really kicked off phase one of this Marvel universe?”

Jon Favreau answers, “Yeah, you know at the time, you know, nobody expected anything from it, It was a negative pickup, done with independent financing. It was just a few of us trying to put something together with an interesting group of actors, an interesting story, and now it’s this huge Disney franchise that’s now seen all around the world.”

Duck Dynasty delivered American Idol some more bad news a little more than a month after eclipsing the reality competition in social media hits.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Robertson family has beaten out the singing competition in head-to-head ratings.

EW further noted that the competition wasn’t even close with the duck-men racking up 9.6 million viewers and a 4.3 adults 18 to 49 share against American Idol‘s comparatively puny 3.3. Duck Dynasty also beat out a one-time ratings champ in Survivor, which captured just a 2.9.

(Looks like members of the Robertson clan have an even stronger case in holding out for more money.)

American Idol has been on the decline for quite some time. There have been occasional bright spots for the show in the wake of Simon Cowell’s absence, but nothing to recapture its former glory. With the viewer base fragmented due to series like X Factor and The Voice, Idol has found it hard to keep up with the changing tides.

Meanwhile, cable channels like A&E (the home of Duck Dynasty), AMC, HBO, and Showtime have made life more difficult with top-tier dramas like Bates Motel, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Dexter.

Furthermore, cable cord cutting is an increasingly popular practice with an estimated 4.7 million additional American households planning to snip-snip by the end of 2013, The New York Times reported earlier this month.

With more homes moving to set-top boxes and away from “free television,” which usually consists of ABC, NBC, CBS, and Idol‘s FOX home, the playing field is considerably more even now than it was as recently as a year ago.

Then again, the phrase “cord swapping” may more accurately depict what’s going on. Find more on that here:

Regardless of what you call it, A&E beating up on what was once network TV’s most successful program is a sign that the dynamic is changing.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Tops ‘American Idol’ With Season Finale is a post from: The Inquisitr

One of Adolf Hitler’s food testers revealed the truth of her wartime role after more than half a century of secrets. Margo Woelk, then in her mid-twenties, spent two and a half years as one of 15 women who sampled the Nazi leader’s food to make sure it wasn’t poisoned.

Woelk finally revealed the secret a few months after her 95th birthday. Despite the fear she felt whenever she ate, sampling Hitler’s food did have its advantages. The former food taster recalled:

“The food was delicious, only the best vegetables, asparagus, bell peppers, everything you can imagine. And always with a side of rice or pasta.”

But the fear she lived with never allowed her to enjoy her role of sampling the feared leader’s food before it was served to him in his “Wolf’s Lair.” The building was the heavily guarded command center where he spent much of his time in the last years of World War II. Woelk explained:

“Hitler was so paranoid that the British would poison him — that’s why he had 15 girls taste the food before he ate it himself … But this constant fear — we knew all of those poisoning rumors and could never enjoy the food. Every day we feared it was going to be our last meal.”

Margo Woelk kept her secret hidden from the world, including her husband. Along with her fear and shame of working for the Nazis during World War II, Woelke also kept her secret as Hitler’s food taster hidden out of fear that she would be prosecuted for having worked  with them.

She insisted, however, that she was never a party member. So, how did Woelk become one of the Nazi leader’s food testers? She explained the association began when she fled Berlin to escape Allied air raids. Her husband was serving in the German army, so she moved in with relatives in what later became Poland.

She was drafted into civilian service and was assigned as a good taster and kitchen bookkeeper at the Wolf’s Lair complex, located a few miles outside the town she lived in. After two and a half years, a SS friend advised her to leave, because the war was going badly.

Woelk took her friend’s advice and went into hiding in Berlin. She later learned that the remaining 14 women were killed by the Russians, who overran the Nazi headquarters in January 1945.

Hitler’s Food Taster Talks Poisoning Fears, Nazi Leader’s Vegetarian Diet is a post from: The Inquisitr

Bill O’Reilly, the host of the high-rated The O’Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel, is going on a rhetorical “jihad” against those media pundits who in his opinion say “incredibly dumb stuff” about terrorism.

He’s particularly ticked at MSNBC host Alex Wagner, who claimed O’Reilly’s criticism of President Obama’s response to the Boston Marathon bombings contained a subtext suggesting the president is a “secret Muslim.”

In his “Talking Points” memo, Bill O’Reilly reacted to Wagner’s contention as follows:

“Hard to believe that person is given a national platform by NBC News — almost impossible to believe. I mean, what is Comcast thinking? The Factor’s second rerun 4:00 in the morning now beats MSNBC’s 8 p.m. primetime broadcast — at least it did yesterday. For the record, Charles Krauthammer and I did not say that President Obama is not, quote, ‘tough enough on Muslims.’ We specifically analyze why the president will not use the words ‘Muslim jihad’ in describing the motive of the terror attack.”

Although he makes his living in the marketplace of ideas, O’Reilly tends to bristle when he is assailed by ideological opponents or even those generally on his side of the fence like Laura Ingraham. Since O’Reilly in particular (and Fox News generally) crushes the cable news competition in the ratings, the question arises as to why he would even care what is spouted on another network, however.

O’Reilly further announced that he is going to call out those who “deny reality” about acts of terror: “So ‘Talking Points’ is going on a jihad of another stripe. Every time — every time — a high profile person starts to spout gibberish about deadly terrorism I will embarrass that person on this broadcast. Public opinion is the only way to stop this madness.”

The FNC host does have a point about some of the ideologically driven media coverage, the same kind of thing that Bill Maher classified as “liberal bullsh*t.” For example, in the early hours of the Boston Marathon bombings, there were any number of pundits on MSNBC and CNN breathlessly suggesting that the perpetrators were “right wing extremists” who were protesting Tax Day, April 15. Separately, you might recall that Brian Ross of ABC News falsely claimed that Aurora shooter James Holmes was a Tea Party member.

In the time period from April 15 to April 21, during its wall-to-wall coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and the subsequent police manhunt, Fox News was the highest rated cable channel in America for the first time in about 10 years.

RiRi doesn’t sing on The Wanted’s new single but she was definitely the inspiration. The British rock group released a 30-second teaser for their new song “She Walks Like Rihanna” today on YouTube.

The Wanted member Tom Parker said:

“We are really excited about this single … We feel it’s a little different from the usual Wanted sound, we’ve stripped it back to pure pop, it’s just a feel-good, fun track. Fun is a good word to describe the video too. Let’s just say it’s got a lot of character.”

Rihanna hasn’t commented on the song yet but there’s a good chance she’ll find it insulting since the chorus of the song talks about someone who can’t dance or sing. But then again, Rihanna might be flattered because it doesn’t matter if you can sing or dance as long as you can walk like Rihana.

The Wanted sing: “She can’t sing, She can’t dance, but who cares? She walks like Rihanna.”

She Walks Like Rihanna: The Wanted Release Teaser For New Single [Audio] is a post from: The Inquisitr

A Brazilian midfielder was kidnapped and tortured by drug traffickers after allegedly running with the girlfriend of one of the crime bosses.

Vasco de Gama midfielder Bernardo was reportedly spotted by members of a drug gang in Rio De Janeiro and kidnapped. He and Daiane Rodrigues, girlfriend of crime boss Marcelo Santos, were caught together and taken to Timbau Hill, where they were bound and tortured.

Witnesses say Rodrigues was shot several times in the leg, but survived the injuries and was released from a hospital on Thursday. Bernardo was taken to Souza Aguiar Hospital with unspecified injuries and also was discharged on Thursday.

Vasco’s sporting director Rene Simoes said the team is doing whatever it can to help the kidnapped midfielder recover.

“I spoke to Bernardo recently and our priority is to give full support to the player,” he said. “Of course Vasco do not want his name involved in anything other than what he achieves on the sports field. Bernardo will receive support from the club while legal proceedings are being undertaken.”The kidnapped midfielder was able to escape in part with help from two teammates, who were with Bernardo and pleaded for his release.

As Rio prepares to host football’s World Cup next year and the Summer Olympics in 2016,the city has struggled with high-profile acts of violence. Earlier in April, an American tourist was kidnapped on a public transportation van and raped, while her boyfriend was beaten and forced to watch.

Police said the attack took place over six hours, and they later apprehended three men between the ages of 20 and 22 in connection to the kidnapping.

Police said they are investigating how the midfielder was kidnapped.

Rescuers tunneling into the remains of a Bangladesh building that collapsed on Wednesday found 50 people trapped on what used to be the third floor. The news came after two women who gave birth under the debris were rescued — along with their infants, according to a fire service official.

The news of survival came as the 72-hour deadline approached to change the rescue operation into one of recovery, even though hundreds more people are believed to be trapped amid the rubble.

Once the deadline hits on Saturday morning, officials coordinating the operation will use heavy equipment to retrieve the remaining bodies and remove the rubble of the collapsed building.

The planned use of heavy equipment has ignited protests from people crowded near the rescue site. Many of them are still searching for relatives who were inside the eight-story building when it gave way on Wednesday. They do not believe that 72 hours is enough time to wait before razing the building’s remains.

But police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, signalling their plan to move ahead with the recovery operation. The military spokesman also stated on Friday:

“You can see heavy cranes and bulldozers here to quickly remove the concrete debris, but we can’t use them at the moment as our prime objective is to retrieve the people alive first.”

The death toll from the Bangladesh building collapse reached 304 on Friday as thousands of residents flooded the streets of Dhaka in anger over the deaths. The building, which housed four garment factories, employed 3,122 workers. However, it was not clear how many people were working when the collapse happened.

Brigadier General Mohammed Siddiqul Alam Shikder, who is overseeing the rescue operations, stated that 2,200 people have been rescued so far, while 304 bodies have been recovered. Rescue workers are using their hands, hammers, and shovels to move debris and rescue as many as possible.

But many of the trapped workers are badly hurt and weakened. Facing high temperatures with humidity, many of the survivors are also dehydrated. Maj. Gen. Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy told reporters on Friday that rescue operations would continue nonstop until at least Saturday.

The Bangladesh building collapse served to highlight again the poor working conditions of the nation’s factory workers, as well as the buildings’ poor safety standards. A fire in the same region in December killed more than 110 garment factory workers.

A South Carolina mother has been charged in a fire that killed her four children. Hope Hawkins, age 21, was arrested on four charges of child neglect and three charges of homicide by neglect. Hawkins’ four children were killed in a mobile home fire last week.

Although the exact cause of the fire is unknown, the mother is being held criminally responsible for the deaths.

As reported by the Huffington Post, all four children were inside the home when firefighters arrived. Hawkins was initially absent from the scene, arriving after the first responders.

The fire spread quickly throughout the home, making it impossible to rescue the children inside. Hawkins’ children, ten-month-old twins Myasia and Kynasia Hawkins, 2-year-old Cameron Mason, and 4-year-old Delonta Dixon, all died of smoke inhalation.

As reported by SCNow.com, neighbors describe the family as friendly. Chris Dixon frequently spoke with the mother, and her children, as she walked her dog around the neighborhood. She states that the Hawkins’ were “good people. They were just lovable people.”

Timothy Century shared the home with Hawkins and her children, but was not in the home when the fire started. He states that he had walked down the street to check the mailbox, returning to find the home consumed in flames. He pointed out that the fire destroyed all of his belongings.

One of the neighbors mentioned hearing a “loud boom” just before there were visible flames. Although the cause of the fire is unknown, the mother was charged in the fire that took the lives of her four children. Officers have stated that she changed her story several times.

During a press conference, officials pointed out that the situation is still under investigation, but they have noted several inconsistencies in Hawkins’ story.

Officials have not verified Hawkins’ exact location at the time the fire began, or what she was doing.

Coroner J Todd Hardee did not find any evidence that the children had been physically abused. He concluded that all four children suffered severe burns. Smoke inhalation was listed as the cause of death.

Hawkins is currently incarcerated in the Darlington County Jail for the fire that killed her four children. A bond hearing is set to take place on April 4.

Eva Longoria’s “I was not eating” confession on Friday’s The Dr. Oz Show is guaranteed to send something of a mixed message to the eating disordered viewers out there.

In her frank conversation with Dr. Oz, the 38-year-old Desperate Housewives star acknowledged that she lost a significant amount of weight after her divorce in 2011 from Tony Parker. She had filed for divorce after only three years of marriage, reportedly after discovering hundreds of text messages to her husband from another woman. Oops.

She also stopped eating because she was so depressed that she’d lost all appetite.

“The time I got the most compliments [was] because I was so skinny,” said Longoria. “I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee.”

Well, nobody’s going to call that a healthy way to lose weight. And I’m sure that Longoria meant the story as a warning.

Tired all the time and lacking real energy, Longoria  eventually had to undergo a series of health tests.

Because of the near-starvation diet, “I was just depleted of every vitamin. He [her doctor] said it’s as if somebody took a straw and sucked everything out of your body. You don’t have any iron, your liver’s overacting.”

The problem is, the eating disordered fan doesn’t hear that stuff. She figures she’ll take care of the lack of energy by sheer willpower. And she doesn’t give a flying you-know-what if her whiny liver is crying out for vitamins.

All she cares about is that Longoria got the most compliments and was “so skinny” because of the coffee diet.

In my humble opinion, I think this is one episode with a heck of a potential for backfire.

Most people aren’t going to try to live on coffee. They already know that it isn’t a good idea.

But the women who will try won’t be discouraged by Longoria’s “I was not eating” story. They’ll actually find it thinspirational.

Northville, MI – Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl is required reading in many schools, and one mother has filed a formal complaint over it.

Gail Horalek has filed a formal complaint against her daughter’s school district over the Anne Frank book, over passages that she believes are too graphic for seventh graders.

The unedited version of the diary, which was published in 1996, describes Frank’s discovery of her own genitalia in some detail, which Horalek considers “pornographic.”

She believes that the Meads Mill Middle School where her daughter attends should have asked parents for permission before assigning the book.

“The problem is the school is giving the seventh graders inappropriate material and not explaining it to the parents,” she told the Northville Patch.

She said that the school usually sends a permission slip home for books and films that contain inappropriate material.

“If they watch any kind of movie with a swear word in it, I have to sign a permission slip,” Horalek said.

Horalek also said that the other parents were unaware of the passages. She only discovered them when her daughter confessed that the book had made her uncomfortable.

She now wants the book removed from the curriculum. “It doesn’t mean my child is sheltered, it doesn’t mean I live in a bubble and it doesn’t mean I’m trying to ban books,” she said. She just thinks that such graphic details “aren’t necessary to grasp the devastation of the holocaust.”

This isn’t the first time Anne Frank’s diary has raised controversy. In 2010, Culpeper County public school in Virginia stopped assigning the uncensored version of the tome due to extra passages that detail Frank’s own emerging sexual desires and “unflattering descriptions of her mother and other people living together.”
