Actor John Travolta became the latest celebrity wedding crasher over the weekend when he showed up at a couple’s wedding after meeting them at a bar the night before.

The couple, who live in Georgia, met Travolta the night before the wedding, according to a friend of the groom’s who shared the photos on Reddit.

The couple apparently told Travolta they were getting married the next day. The friend explained, “My friend ran into John Travolta the night before his wedding, and he shows up the next day.”

The actor certainly stuck out at the wedding, opting for jeans, a black t-shirt, and a baseball cap, but it was apparent that the bride and groom didn’t care. They took several photos with John Travolta, apparently not bothered by the fact that the actor crashed their wedding.

This wasn’t the first wedding crashing event John Travolta has taken part in over the years. He, along with fellow actor Robin Williams, admitted in 2009 that they crashed a wedding back before they were famous. The event took place in 1977 in Santa Barbara.

Travolta recalled, “We were having fun, starting to relax, when we saw there was a wedding next door. We figured we’d crash it.”

And the guests apparently discovered who the crashers were, as Williams recalled, “Some guy yelled out, ‘Hey, they really are Mork and Vinnie Barbarino!’ ”

John Travolta joins a long line of celebrity wedding crashers, including Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson, who unexpectedly showed up at a wedding rehearsal for total strangers last week. The pair apparently sat down in the main courtyard of the San Ysidro Ranch hotel in Montecito, California to see the rehearsal.

There has been no comment from Travolta’s rep on what prompted him to crash the party.

A 99-cent diet picked up after an L.A.-based musician caught a glimpse of how large he’d gotten has helped the man lose 250 pounds since then.

Papa Joe Aviance, a musician and clothing designer, said it was a shock seeing himself in the music video for his first house music release, “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life.”

“I was 450 pounds — I was two cheeseburgers away from diabetes or high cholesterol,” said Aviance. “I had been big for pretty much all of my life, and I was sick of hating myself. It was now or never.”

The revelation inspired Aviance to purge himself of all the bad foods he’d been keeping in his home.“I cleared everything out of my fridge that was going to get in the way of me losing weight—cookies, candy, sodas,” he says. “I was only going to drink water or unsweetened iced tea, and no more fast food. At that point, I’d  been drinking a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew every day, and if I went through any local drive-thru, they knew my name — that’s how often I used to eat that stuff.”

But even though he’d just scored a big music hit. Aviance was very tight with money at the time. He had just lost a job, and couldn’t afford a gym membership or specialized diet programs. So he started walking for exercise and limited his food budget to $50 per week.

The 99 Cents Only became his new best friend, and from there Aviance came up with his own 99-cent diet. “Oatmeal, raisins, nuts, bananas, apples, oranges, bell peppers, spinach, salad dressing, tuna fish, eggs… I was shocked. I was blown away,” said Aviance of his first experience at the store. “It was a huge savings. I literally spent no more than $50 a week on food.”

The changes game within a few weeks — his walks grew longer, the 99-cent diet started clicking, and the weight came off.

A whole following has cropped up around the Southern California-based 99 Cents Only stores. People share meal ideas online and others have written cookbooks focusing on the low-price offerings there.

A-Rod could be facing a 100-game ban suspension after an ongoing investigation by Major League Baseball into a Miami-area clinic that treated several high-profile athletes.

Investigators have been looking into the now-closed Biogenesis of America, and the clinic’s founder Tony Bosch has reportedly been working with MLB investigators. With the information found in the investigation, MLB will seek to suspend close to 20 players, ESPN reported.

A source close to the investigation said MLB will seek a 100-game ban for A-Rod, Ryan Braun, and other players. League officials are reportedly planning on counting the actual doping as one offense and previous statements to MLB officials denying use of PEDs as a second offense, allowing the league to suspend them 100 games.

Investigators for the league have reportedly had a list of names of Biogenesis clients for months, but needed Bosch to confirm the materials with receipts and phone records. With information from the clinic’s founder the list of players could grow larger still, reports say.

Baseball officials have agreed to drop a lawsuit against Bosch in exchange for his cooperation.

Steven Seagal could be the new face of Russia’s weapons industry, should the actor accept the offer. The Seagal apparently has huge fans in the form of Russian officials.

The actor has reportedly been in talks with the Russian government to be the face for its arms campaign in an effort to compete with the United States and other major weapons producers.

The information was released by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who stated that Steven Seagal could soon head up an international marketing campaign to promote the country’s Degtarev arms plan. Rogozin accompanied Seagal on a visit on Tuesday. He told plant workers:

“You’re ready to fight American [manufacturers] with your teeth and your intellect, and if Americans are prepared to promote and support you, that says we’re learning new ways to work on corporate warfare markets.”

Steven Seagal is no stranger to Russia, having made several trips to the country in the past, most recently in March when he met with President Vladimir Putin. The 80′s action movie actor also made an appearance at a martial arts center during his visit to promote the resurrection of the country’s Soviet-era fitness program, called GTO.

The program was intended to teach children to “stand up for themselves, their family and, in the final run, the Fatherland.” At the time of the visit, spokesman for Putin Dmitry Peskov stated, “Putin and Seagal have long been friends, and they regularly meet each other.”

But while Seagal’s March visit was meant to promote fitness in a country where the actor’s movies are extremely popular, the visit also likely included the start of talks for Steven to become the country’s face for its arms campaign.

Most recently, the actor reportedly put together an American delegation to Russia’ Chechen region as part of an investigation into the Boston Marathon bombings. However, the trip, code named CODEL, was canceled.

With crowdsourcing becoming evermore popular, it may not comes as a surprise to learn that Turkish protesters have been using Google Maps to track police movements during the recent protests.

The map centers on Taksim square, the hotbed of protester activity against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government. It was created last on the 1st June following plans by Edogan’s government to renovate an Ottoman barracks. A project which required the razing of trees from nearby Gezi Park. Turkish protesters managed to prevent this using Google Maps by demonstrating in defence of the green space for over a week.

Mapping protests and police movements – while still relatively new – has happened before. Student protests that occurred in London during 2010 also made use of a Google Map to keep track of riot vans and helicopters moving against the protesters.

Some of the tactics employed by Turkish protesters have been likened to medieval tactics, most notably barricades, which are effective at keeping vehicles, police, and even horses away from the protesters. They also take time to tear down, and in the event of police deciding to use violence, can provide excellent cover from gunfire and thrown objects such as tear gas grenades.

These kinds of tactics proved so successful in times-gone-by that some cities such as Paris – known for it’s regular protests – even redesigned their streets to make them less convenient for the construction of barricades.

Apart from Turkish protesters using Google Maps to mark barricades, here are some of the other markers:

• A green tent to mark the heart of Taksim Square
• Road warnings in green, letting people know which one are open and which are blocked
• Pink tags for groups announcing who they are and where they are protesting
• Light blue flags for police locations and reported movements
• Warnings of police tracking servers online, confusingly under light blue as well.

The first recorded Czech quintuplets were born this week, according to hospital officials. The woman who gave birth to the babies, Alexandra Kinova, 23,had a Cesarean section earlier this week.

Officials at Prague’s Institute for the Care of Mother and Child announced the births, adding that the mother and her five babies are in intensive care, though they are in stable condition.

Kinova, who already has a son with her partner, Antonin Kroscen, 26. The couple didn’t know until last month that they were having quintuplets. The babies were conceived naturally, which makes their existence incredible in itself.

Experts say the odds of conceiving quintuplets naturally is one in several million, though the odds were helped by the fact that twins are on both sides of the family.

Kinova was first told by doctors that she would be having twins. However, doctors revised the number of babies in March when they discovered two more. It wasn’t until May when they discovered a fifth fetus inside her. The mother of quintuplets recalled, “When we finally found a fifth head, I started to cry.”

Aside from a few months of morning sickness, the Czech woman has had no complications from her quintuplet pregnancy. That streak of health carried on this week, as doctors reported no complications with the birth of her children. Doctors also could not tell the sexes of all five babies until they were born, because two were hiding in the ultrasounds.

Alexandra gave birth to four boys and a girl, named Michael, Daniel, Alex, Martin, and Tereza. Obstetrician Alena Mechurova stated of the Czech quintuplet birth, “In our country [birth] statistics have been recorded since 1949 and there’s no mention of quintuplets. In the Czech Republic quintuplets are born on average once every 480 years.”

And Alexandra Kinova will certainly be busy, as she plans on breastfeeding all five babies. She explained, “The first child I nursed for almost a year and a half and I want to breastfeed now. While I know that some will be on artificial nutrition.”

The hospital doubled the number of doctors and midwives on hand for the birth of the Czech quintuplets.

Every summer, billions of cicadas emerge from their hiding places, shed their cocoons and take to their positions in the trees – only to commence making a lot of noise. The reason for making so much noise is to attract the attention of a mate, but this year they may also have attracted the attention of the US Navy who want to study them in order to create a “Cicada Sonar.”

Researchers at the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center are studying the insects to try and create a more effective sonor device. The findings of their recent research were even presented at the International Congress on Acoustics.

The reason the US Navy were first attracted to the idea of a cicada sonar was because of the amount of noise the tiny insects are capable of producing when compared with their body size. Unravelling this secret could mean developing more effective compact sonar devices. Some of these devices do already exist but they use passive sonar, meaning the sonar listens for other underwater objects, provided they are making more noise than the vessel doing the listening.

Active sonar on the other hand, transmits sound waves into the water and detect objects based on the waves that are bounced back. While more effective, this type of sonar is normally larger and more complicated to install, limiting the types of vessels that can carry it. By better understanding cicadas, it could allow a much smaller device, capable of being fitted to small unmanned vessels.

The US Navy’s cicada sonar would aim to mimic a cicada’s noise production technique – which uses a pair of plates on their thorax, each of which are attached to ribs that bulge outward. Contracting these plates makes the ribs click and a large air sac behind the ribs amplifies this sound. They do this 300 to 400 times a second, and the out-of-sync sounds somehow combine to create a much louder noise.

Ohio State president Gordon Gee has decided to retire after his second stint with the university, school representative Gayle Saunders announced on Tuesday afternoon. His decision to leave the school comes amid his recent comments during the school’s Athletic Council meeting in which he made disparaging remarks about other universities, including Notre Dame.

Gee referred to Notre Dame as “those damn Catholics” during the meeting, and he also threw the University of Louisville under the bus for their academic status. When speaking about the Big Ten Conference, Gee said the main goal is to “make certain that we have institutions of like-minded academic integrity. So you won’t see us adding Louisville.”

Once news broke of the controversial comments, Gee issued an apology last week after being warned by the school’s Board of Trustees in March. Now, the 69-year-old will step down from his role as president of the university after some “self-reflection” during a family vacation.

“I recently returned from a vacation with my family, during which time I had a chance to consider the university’s phenomenal achievements and the road that lies ahead for it,” Gee said in the official release about his retirement plans. “Ohio State now has a richness of new opportunities that would be the envy of most universities. During my days away, I also spent some time in self-reflection. And after much deliberation, I have decided it is now time for me to turn over the reins of leadership to allow the seeds that we have planted to grow. It is also time for me to reenergize and refocus myself.”

This was Gordon Gee’s second stint with the school, as he served as president from 1990-to-1997 and again starting in 2007. Joseph A. Alutto, the university’s former provost, will serve as interim president until the Board of Trustees name a replacement.

A Minnesota cheerleader allegedly prostituted a 16-year-old girl, who happened to be her teammate, by using an online ad. The 18-year-old is now facing charges of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution.

Montia Marie Parker, a senior at Hopkins High School, allegedly set up an ad through Backpage.com for her teammate, and eventually drove her to an apartment to have oral sex with a man for $60, according to FoxNews.com.

The charges allege that Parker was looking for a way to make money, and she approached the 16-year-old through Facebook telling her that she could make money through sex. Parker allegedly went on to ask for photos of her teammate before setting up the online ad.

According to the charges, the two went to a home on March 5th and Parker waited in the car. Her teammate returned to the car and gave her $60 which she deposited into her bank account. Another incident occurred the next day, but the 16-year-old refused to have sex with another man. The Minnesota cheerleader pretended to be the girl’s mother while calling the school to get her early release, according to the complaints.

“You’ll be fine — I didn’t drive up here for nothing, and eventually you will need to have sex,” Parker told the young girl, according to the complaint.

Hopkins High School’s last day of classes is Thursday, but the local district made sure to address the situation once learning of the charges.

“In responding to this incident, we followed our discipline and safety policy, which includes permanently removing a student from campus,” the district said in a statement about the prostituting scandal.

Montia Marie Parker admitted to police the she created the ad, and she also informed authorities that it received “a lot of calls.” She is now free on $50,000 bond, though it seems she’s been removed from Hopkins High.

The central Europe flooding death toll has continued to rise, with at least 12 people now reported dead in the widespread flood that has claimed victims in at least three countries.

The European Union Emergency Centre has published a map updating what they know about the ongoing emergency, although details are likely to change as the extent of the damage becomes known.

In the hard-hit Czech Republic, there are seven people confirmed dead as of Monday. More than 7,000 people have been evacuated.

Multiple rivers are at 3rd level flood stage, including Prague’s Vltava. You can see video of the flooding and evacuation of the Prague Zoo, which is located along the Vltava, by visiting my report published yesterday.

In Germany, three people are confirmed dead and over 7,000 are evacuated to escape the flooding waters.

Two people are known dead and two more are missing in Austria.

As bad as the central Europe flooding is, the Czech Republic is now reporting that the waters have stopped rising in Prague. The disaster there is unlikely to be as serious as the 2002 flood.

However, the water is still rising in some parts of Germany, and some places haven’t seen floods this severe in century. Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel toured the region with a pledge of at least €100 million federal help for flooding victims.

Passau, a German town near Austria at the intersection of three rivers, saw its highest level of flooding in 500 years on Austria. Merkel said that the disaster there was much worse than the 2002 Central Europe flood.

As the water moves downstream over the course of the next few days, emergency workers across Europe are getting prepared with measures like planned evacuations and shoring up levees with sandbags.

A Lady Gaga fingernail has sold for $12K at an online auction, making for one of the oddest celebrity items a collector has ever purchased. The black-and-gold acrylic fingernail flew off the superstar’s hand during a performance in Dublin, Ireland last year and it was picked up by an event crew member who decided to put it up for auction at ArtFact.com.

MTV reported on Monday that the interesting fake fingernail sold for for $12K on the website, and that it also comes with a photo of Lady Gaga missing the nail during the performance.

The odd collecter, whoever it may be, will also receive a letter from the crew member explaining how he snagged the fingernail during the show. The letter reads, “I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail.”

Rob Weisberg, CEO of ArtFact, believes Gaga’s fingernail, $12K acrylic nail at that, suits those who share a passion for pop and the ever so popular 27-year-old star.

“This piece of Lady Gaga’s personal style could appeal to both passionate collectors of pop culture relics or one of Gaga’s Monsters,” Weisberg said in a statement about the odd auction.

This isn’t a collection of nails, just one over-the-top piece, which has proven it’s worth at the online auction. It’s unknown how many bids were placed during the auction, but it’s obvious the nail created quite the stir before being sold for the same prices as a work of art or expensive jewelry.

No wonder people go crazy over anything a performer throws off a stage, and when it’s Lady Gaga there’s surely going to be some style involved. An acrylic black-and-gold fingernail has Gaga written all over it, but now it belongs to a collector who coughed up a hefty chunk of cash to win the auction.

A Saudi prince recently spent millions on a Disneyland party in Paris, France.

Prince Fahd al-Saud brought nearly 60 guests to the park for several days last month to celebrate his recent degree. The party reportedly cost upwards of $20 million and featured friends, bloggers, and Disney enthusiasts.

In order to bring that many people together in the so-called “happiest place on Earth,” al-Saud had sections of Disneyland all to himself.

Instead of sitting back and letting park officials put everything together, Prince Fahd had a hand in designing the festivities himself. In addition to 80 dancers, the event also featured rare Disney characters, costumes, and scenarios. Many of these elements were shipped in exclusively for the event.

Included among the characters at the Saudi prince’s Disneyland party were the cast of Up, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and The Aristocats. Roger and Jessica Rabbit also made an appearance.

Al-Saud reportedly had the entire party to himself after the party closed until the wee hours of the morning. When the attractions opened for the general public, the prince allowed visitors to check out some of the characters that were brought in for his party.

According to Disney Gazette editor Julien Guedon, this is the first time such a massive private party and has executed. Although everyone had fun with the prince, they were not allowed to talk about him with anyone. This was a rule given to everyone who attended the celebration.

The Saudi prince’s Parisian Disneyland party came at the tail end of a world tour. Dubbed “Disney Dreamers Everywhere,” al-Saud began his adventure at Hong Kong Disneyland before moving on to parks in California, Florida, and, eventually, Paris.

Prince Fahd is the son of the late Saudi Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz al Saud and his wife Maha bint Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Sudairi.

Sharks will soon be worth more alive than when they are caught, killed, and eaten for food. If you’ve ever seen the eye-popping prices for shark fin soup on a restaurant menu, you may be a little surprised by a new study from the University of British Columbia in Canada.

Lead author Andrés Cisneros-Montemayor and colleagues went through data from 70 shark sites in 45 countries to perform an economic analysis on whether catching  sharks for food or preserving them for tourism brought in the most money.

At one time, it was no contest that the food value was much larger, but now the shark food fishing industry is declining while tourism is on the rise.  Cisneros-Montemayor has said that marine ecotourism (MET) is an exploding industry, generating millions of dollars worldwide. He has previously published research into the economics of MET in the otherwise small Central American country of Belize.

One clear advantage enjoyed by shark watching is that many tourists can enjoy the same shark on different occasions. However, a shark caught and killed for its fins to make shark fin soup is gone forever.

According to the new research, shark ecotourism is currently earning $314 worldwide and growing, with a projected annual value of $700 million within 20 years.

By comparison, the market value of the shark fin catch is currently at around $630 million and dropping fast as global shark fisheries collapse.

Although shark tourism is a popular activity in South Africa, where our tourist photograph was taken, it’s even more valuable in the Caribbean and Australia. Cisnero-Montemayor talked to Radio Australia about the value of living sharks.

He estimated that about 38 million sharks are currently being killed for shark fin soup. That’s to support an industry that’s both declining in value and becoming widely unpopular because of the gruesome methods used to take the shark fins.

Shark tourism definitely has its challenges.  However, economic planners may be wise to expand protection to sharks as it becomes clear that many sharks are more valuable alive than dead.

Jack White recently saved a Masonic Temple in Detroit from foreclosure.

Although the musician originally made the donation anonymously, word soon spread that it was his money that prevented the temple from being put on the market.

Detroit Masonic Temple Association president Roger Sobran said the Temple’s Cathedral Theater will be renamed the Jack White Theater to honor White’s contribution.

“Jack’s donation could not have come at a better time and we are eternally grateful to him for it. Jack’s magnanimous generosity and unflinching loyalty to this historic building and his Detroit roots is appreciated beyond words,” Sobran explained.

The Masonic Temple, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, owed a $142,000 tax bill. If someone didn’t cough up the money, then it would have gone to auction. In an effort to keep the venue in the hands of those who care about it most, Jack White decided to pay off what was owed.

The Detroit native has a special connection to the venue. In addition to playing there nine times over the course of his career, White visited the place on several occasions as a child when his mother worked there as an usher.

Jack White isn’t the only acclaimed musician to have performed at the theater. The Who and the Rolling Stones also took the famous Detroit stage.

The 14-story Masonic Temple takes up an entire city block and contains around 1,000 rooms. This particular theater sports 1,586 seats. The building was days away from being put up for sale when Jack White swooped in to save the day. Thank to his generosity, the theater now bears the musician’s name.

“We could not be more humbled to bestow this honor on Jack,” Sobran explained.

A Hawaii earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 has struck according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake hit on Tuesday afternoon and was centered around 34 miles southeast of Pahala on the Big Island.

The hawaii earthquake struck at a depth of 25 miles and officials do not believe it will cause a tsunami to develop. Officials examined current and historic data to determine the likelihood of water based threats.

The Hawaii County Civil Defense director is reporting no damage at this time despite the 5.6 magnitude shake developed by the Earthquake.

The earthquake was powerful enough to be noticed as far away as Oahu and Maui, although those tremors were reported to be “weak” at best.

Kevin Dayton, the executive assistant to the mayor in Hilo tells ABCNews that the area “experienced strong shaking” following the earthquake.

The results from the quake were much better than the 6.2 magnitude jolt that rocked Taiwan on Sunday, killing 2 and injuring 21 others. The earthquake in Taiwan was caught on video and showcased the true horror that can occur from a deadly jolt.

Residents in Hawaii may experience several smaller aftershock tremors following Tuesday afternoon’s earthquake.

Adam Carolla is being sued by former friend Donny Misraje for the second time this year.

In the lawsuit Donny Misraje refers to himself as  ”a very close friend of Carolla’s for over 30 years.”

Misraje is suing Carolla over several photos that were used in his 2012 memoir Not Taco Bell Material. 

Donny claims that he owns the copyright for the photos which were taken in the 1980s. Misraje says the photos were published without ”permission, consent or license to do so.”

The lawsuit was filed May 30 in U.S. District Court in Central California. The lawsuit reads:

“Plaintiff believes that he has suffered or is likely to suffer damages and will continue to suffer serious and substantial damages resulting from Defendants’ copyright infringement, including irreparable injury for which there is no adequate remedy at law.”

Also named in the lawsuit is Crown Publishing, the company which released Adam Carolla’s memoir.

Misraje is asking that Carolla immediately stop infringing on his copyright and offer compensation for the previous alleged infringements, along with compensatory and punitive damages.

Donny Misraje is also asking that any remaining copies of Not Taco Bell Material be destroyed.

In January 2013 Misraje sued Carolla claiming that he encouraged the comedia to leave his radio show to start his popular podcast. Misraje claims the two men formed a partnership that Carolla ignored.

When the podcast became popular Misraje claimed he left a production job that was paying him $231,000 a year. After leaving his job Carolla’s former friend claims he was never paid based off the podcast’s success.

Adam Carolla and Crown Publishing are not responding to requests for more information at this time.

Royal prank DJ Michael Christian has been given an award by his Australian employer.

Although Christian and fellow DJ Mel Greig have been linked the the suicide of a nurse after making a prank call to a London hospital, the folks at Southern Cross Austereo think he’s one of the best employees they have.

Christian was recently declared “Top Jock” for his work at Sydney radio station 2DayFM. He was only in the position for about a week when the unfortunately prank took place.

“Regardless of all that’s happened in the past few months, I’m still at the top of my game. It felt good to see my name at the top of the final leader board,” the Royal prank DJ said in a statement.

In addition to being recognized by the folks at Southern Cross Austereo, Michael Christian was given a trip to Los Angeles. He reportedly shared the honor of being the best DJ in Australian with another employee.

National Communications Minister Stephen Conroy wasn’t exactly thrilled with the award Christian received. Since the nurse hanged herself as a result of the prank, Conroy feels that the honor just isn’t right.

“To be seen to be rewarding people so soon after such an event, I think, is just in bad taste,” he explained.

Christian and Greig made the tragic prank to King Edward VII Hospital in London last December. Kate Middleton was reportedly being treated for morning sickness at the time. After pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, Jacintha Saldanha put the call through to the ward Middleton was in.

The prank soon made international headlines, resulting in Saldanha’s suicide. Although an investigation into the matter was launched by Scotland Yard, authorities announced in February that charges would not be filed against the DJs responsible for the joke.

The Amanda Bynes job offer rumors may be a false alarm, disappointing fans who might have wanted to see if Bynes can rant as well live as she does on Twitter.

According to multiple sources including TMZ, Playboy Radio offered Amanda Bynes a job as a guest host on Tuesday. The TMZ report is even bigger, stating that Bynes had been offered a one-week trial with an option to extend the show for a year.

Playboy radio host Bob Guiney was reportedly extremely enthusiastic about the idea: “We should give Amanda a full two hours Bynedamonium marathon!”

In recent days since her arrest and very public meltdown, Amanda Bynes has slammed everyone from Rihanna to Lance Bass to her own father. Sometimes the Twitter rants have been so extended that she’s made use of the Twitplus feature so that she can expound even more on whatever has merited her latest displeasure.

And when she isn’t calling out somebody else for being ugly, she’s busy criticizing her own looks, especially her nose. Although most fans focused on the bald head revealed in the unflattering mugshot, Bynes focused on her nose and said that she’d gotten work done on it — and might get more.

Considering how outspoken Amanda Bynes is, the job offer might seem like a natural. She could be 2013′s answer to Howard Stern.

According to MSN’s Celebrity Buzz, an unnamed insider said Playboy was even going to provide a driver to take Amanda Bynes to and from work.

However, they’re also reporting that the eccentric Bynes has already turned down the job offer, saying that she wants to focus on developing a career in rap.

TMZ has received the same information.   Amanda Bynes said of the job offer: “I can’t [do the show] because I’m recording an album.”

Amanda Bynes Job Offer Reportedly Already Refused is a post from: The Inquisitr

Pattie Mallette, mother of teen superstar Justin Bieber, is releasing a special edition of her best-selling book Nowhere but Up, which will be aimed at teens.

The 38-year-old collaborated with author A.J. Gregory for both the original version, which was published last September, and the new edition of the book which is due out on July 2.

Often referred to as “mom” by her over 2 million Twitter followers, Mallette is often asked for advice about the kind of problems teenagers face.

The new edition is designed to relate her own troubled to turnaround life-story toward teen readers and includes features such as a group discussion guide and side bars on topics based on questions from Mallette’s Twitter followers.

In her autobiography, Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom, she revealed harrowing details about her early life. These include several instances of sexual abuse, experimentation with drugs and alcohol from the age of 14, a suicide attempt, depression, petty theft, a school suspension and teenage pregnancy.

Like her son, Justin, Mallette displayed a talent for singing and acting as a child and won a number of awards. But, for reasons that may have been financial, her parents were unable to let her join a Toronto-based talent agency that wanted to sign her up.

She began a relationship with Justin’s father, Jeremy, at the age of 15. Their on-off relationship ended when she was 19, although he remained a presence in his son’s life. At one point during these turbulent years Mallette’s depression led to a stay in a mental health facility after she threw herself into the path of a truck. To this day she credits Christianity for turning her life around.

When she became pregnant at 18, despite the urging from others she refused to have an abortion and raised her son largely on her own in low income housing. Returning to school in later life she earned a high school diploma, before going on to college to study web design, before a career as a producer and author beckoned.

Of the new teenage edition, Mallette said in announcing the book:

“When I was a teenager, it always helped me to hear the stories of others, and how they made it through difficult circumstances.” She added. ”I hope to help teenagers identify with their own stories and navigate through some of their own pain.”

Mallette, who executive produced the film Crescendo — which is based on the real life story of  German composer Beethoven and his young mother’s decision to keep her baby despite having an abusive husband — directed the proceeds from the movie to numerous pregnancy centers around the world.

It’s a giveback that’s particularly close to Mallette’s heart as she once lived in a single mothers’ residence when she was pregnant with Justin.

“I don’t know where we’d be today without that place. The center that I lived in had to close its doors for lack of funds,” she told Access Hollywood in March, ”I want to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

At the time, asked to comment on Justin’s bad press and some of the incidents that occurred on and off his Believe tour (some allegedly), the still young mom said:

“I think him being 19, you know, I just gotta let go a little and let him make some of his own decisions. I’m sure you can appreciate as a mom how I feel when I read some of these stories. I come at it from a different angle.”

Having been to the edge herself, literally jumped and survived, before finding a belief system that worked for her, perhaps Mallette’s personal perspective is exactly what her embattled son and the teens who look up to her need to hear.
