Infamous jilted woman, reality TV star, Twitter feud-er extraordinaire … best-selling author?

Whether you like it or not, those terms all describe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, who has inked a deal with HarperOne publishers to write a new book tentatively titled Drinking and Dating.

The new book deal, reported by Us Weekly, will serve as a follow-up to Glanville’s New York Times best-seller Drinking and Tweeting: And Other Brandi Blunders which was released in February of this year.

“I am really excited,” she told the publication, confirming that talks for a new book started shortly after her first nonfiction tome saw such success. ”It should be out by January or February of next year.”

Just like Drinking and Tweeting, the follow-up Drinking and Dating will be a memoir-style tell-all book filled with Glanville’s insights, gossip, and details about her love life. There’s certainly plenty to tell and plenty who will read it, perhaps even enough to pen a Drinking and … trilogy, notes MSN.

“It was hard [to narrow down the focus], because I feel like there is so much going on in my life,” Glanville said of the first book. “It is more of a ‘moving on’ kind of guide, and just a relationship guide — like my relationship with my parents, my relationship when I am dating and living in Los Angeles.”

Glanville said that she won’t be writing much about the Eddie Cibrian/LeAnn Rimes fiasco this time around, but that they will be mentioned in a chapter about co-parenting.

“I just want people to relate to me wherever they are,” she said. “It’s just [about] going through a breakup and getting to that point where you are ready to move on, and then [about] how all your relationships change after that.”

But still, that doesn’t mean the book will be absent plenty of sex.

“There is a sex chapter, of course. There has to be!” she laughed.

“Like my first book, there won’t be any filters. I’m calling it as I see it and not holding anything back, even when I probably should,” she said.

“This second book will be filled with lots of drama, blunders, sordid details and, of course, hashtags. I’m a bit wiser after having written my first book, but the craziness continues with co-parenting nightmares, exes, boyfriends, parties, sex, drinking, tweeting and everything else that makes my life such an adventure.”

A naked man was arrested for hiding in his neighbor’s dryer, according to a recent report from Ohio’s Wave 3 News.

This will probably come as a shock to many of The Inquisitr‘s readers, but the man was, in fact, intoxicated when police were called to Hutton Street in Linwood, Ohio.

The naked man hiding in his neighbor’s dryer, 39-year-old Shaun Welsh, led police on a short foot chase before ending up in the appliance and being discovered there by police.

Welsh was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center. He waived the right to a trial and received a five-day sentence, which if math serves correctly, should be up by Wednesday at the latest.

According to a separate report from WKRC Cincinnati, the couple that initially called police reported Welsh on the side of the road unconscious. They told the station it wasn’t clear if the man was dead or alive at the time.

Apparently, police and medics responded once and took Welsh back to his house. However, it wouldn’t be long before he reemerged wearing his boxer shorts. At that point, he attempted to break in to several neighborhood windows.

(Welsh has a lengthy criminal history, WKRC noted, including several convictions for breaking and entering.)

No idea when the boxer shorts came off.

This certainly isn’t the first time that an intoxicated person was arrested in a precarious position. In September 2012, a Kentucky man was cuffed and dragged off to jail for riding his horse while inebriated.

(He was charged with a DUI.)

And then, of course, there was the epic meltdown of Dazed and Confused actor Jason London, who got into a bar fight and then soiled himself in the back of the police car.

Compared to those two guys, Welsh comes out of this looking okay.

“Godfather of Soul” James Brown believed that Ronald Reagan was the most intelligent president we’ve ever had and also a man of conviction.

Brown expressed his admiration for the 40th president in 1984 that has just been released as part of the PBS Blank on Blank series in which vintage interview clips are presented in animated format. See embed below.

At the time, Rocci Fish, then of ABC News Radio, asked Brown about Reagan during an impromptu press conference at the Washington Convention Center. James Brown, who earned a reputation as the hardest working man in show business, responded that President Reagan “is the most intelligent, most well-coordinated president we’ve ever had.”

Brown continued with his praise: “I just know he’s the most well-organized president we’ve ever had in history … His acting ability taught him the whole structure of the country … He knows what everybody wants. You see, every American man is still a cowboy. See, you’ve got to remember that. Because of the frontiersmen …He knew he was going to be president. See, that’s what you call a man of conviction.”

James Brown was quick to point out that he didn’t make political endorsements, and was not affiliated with either the Republicans or the Democrats, and instead referred to himself as a “humanitarian.”

As part of his illustrious career as a musician and a performer which strongly influenced many other artists, James Brown, who died in 2006, was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He recorded seventeen number-one singles on the R&B charts and  is ranked seventh on the music magazine Rolling Stone‘s list of its 100 greatest artists of all time.

Brown may have been alluding to Ronald Reagan’s unique background and communications skills. President Reagan had an unconventional and colorful career prior to entering the Oval Office. From very modest beginnings, the high school lifeguard became a Hollywood actor, an Army officer, president of the Screen Actors Guild union, television and radio commentator, and California governor (which some say is the second most difficult elected office in the country). He started out as a Democrat but became a Republican in 1962, and in so doing brought millions of “Reagan Democrats” (somewhat equivalent to today’s Tea Party members) to the polls to vote for him in his two successful presidential campaigns.

Patrick Stewart opened up on X-Men: Days of Future Past and returning as Professor X.

Patrick Stewart is one of the few actors who can claim to have been in nearly every X-Men film to date, with Hugh Jackman being the only one who can claim he’s been in them all. His character Professor Xavier, or as we like to call him, Professor X, is one of the most important characters in the franchise. So important, in fact, that he even appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine at the very end to recruit Cyclops, Storm, and a few others at earlier points in their lives.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will feature both of the actors who have played the role as an adult. In fact, the two will most likely meet in a sort of Star Trek moment where young and old Spock met. Patrick Stewart will be playing the old Professor X while James McAvoy will be playing the younger version who still has hair and may still be getting acclimated to the famous wheelchair.

Patrick Stewart opened up on being Professor X in X-Men: Days of Future Past in a video which begins with him apparently at Comicpalooza. He’s speaking to a large crowd as he laughs off the introduction, “Segway … but look, I’m jet-lagged out of my mind. I have been here for a few hours, so please forgive me if you can. … I came here pretty much from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past,”

The crowd applauded ever so vigorously after Patrick Stewart said that.

Patrick Stewart put his hand to his heart and said, “My work on the movie is done, except I suppose for ADR and things like that, but I think my time in front of the camera on that film is over, and it was four and a half weeks’ work.”

Issa Rae, creator and star of the YouTube comedy series The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, has been tapped to play Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic about Lorraine Hansberry.

The biopic, which is currently in development, will star Hansberry’s grandniece, Taye, as the late author and playwright. Jaleel White, who is best known for his role as Steve Urkel in Family Matters, will play author James Baldwin.

Numa Perrier, who previously penned the script for series The Couple and appeared in “The Call” episode of ABG, will direct the film.

Production for the as-of-yet untitled biopic is set to begin in early fall.

Lorraine Hansberry was the first black playwright, as well as the youngest American, to win a New York Critics’ Circle Award. She is best known for her play A Raising in the Sun, which gets its title from a line in the Langston Hughes poem “A Dream Deferred.”

Issa Rae is set to make her network television debut as the writer and co-producer of Shonda Rhimes’ upcoming ABC comedy series I Hate L.A. Dudes. The series and comedy drama The Mix are a departure for Rhimes, who has previously created three medical dramas – Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and the short-lived Off the Map — and a political thriller (Scandal).

I Hate L.A. Dudes follows a female journalist who is forced to adjust to the dating scene in Los Angeles. The Mix revolves around the lives of five women who host a popular morning talk show.

Rae isn’t the only actress to portray Nina Simone this year. Star Trek: Into Darkness star Zoe Saldana will be portraying the singer and civil rights activist in an upcoming biopic. Saldana has come under fire for her casting, and Simone’s daughter, Simone, has expressed that she wished someone else had been cast. Although she hasn’t back the film, Simone’s picks to play her mother were Kimberly Elise, Viola Davis, or an unknown actress.

Fast and Furious 6 or simply Fast 6, continues its domination at the box office for the second weekend in a row.

The car chase movie is expected to bring an additional $34.5 million in revenues to the North American market and $75 million internationally.

The film opened to record breaking numbers for Universal Studios this past Memorial Day weekend when it brought in $120 million. It has also done extremely well in the foreign markets with sales of $310.2 million. The total domestic for Fast 6 is $170.4 million.

This is unusual for sixth installments in any franchise and it has given Universal its best opening ever in the United Kingdom. It is not surprising since the film was shot in London among other locations.

The Hangover Part III, the last in the comedy series, which opened on the same weekend as Fast 6 has disappointed with its weak showing. So far it has collected $88.1 million domestically and $110.7 million internationally. Warner Bros. is hoping that international markets that are yet to show the film will bring in more revenue.

The big flop this week was Will Smith’s new sci-fi movie in which he stars with his son Jaden, After Earth. The results so far are more than disappointing and very surprising considering that Smith is usually a name that brings in large number of viewers to the movie theaters. The movie opened in third place.

After Earth brought in a dismal $27 million domestically and $2.6 million on the international markets. Sony Pictures Entertainment spent almost $150 million producing the film. The movie has not been well received by critics. Will Smith also wrote the script and produced the film.

Now You See Me was the surprise of the week coming in at second place with $28.1 million and considering it had half the budget that After Earth did and had no big names attached to it, this is definitely unexpected. Now You See Me brought in $600,000 internationally.

The non-stop action vehicular warfare obviously hasn’t begun to bore movie viewers with Fast and Furious 6 at the top of the box office once again in the US this weekend.

The Earth’s neighborhood in the Milky Way galaxy got an upgrade. On Monday afternoon, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory made this announcement: “Our Solar System’s Milky Way neighborhood just went upscale.”

Our solar system is located in a beautiful spiral galaxy similar to the much larger M101 galaxy that you can see in the top photograph. However, we don’t live in one of the major spiral arms. For years, astronomers have believed that we lived in an inconsequential spur between two very large arms.

This minor spur which includes our average sun and our smallish earth is called the Local Arm, and it just wasn’t considered a very impressive part of the Milky Way.

It might seem strange, but it’s easier to see what other galaxies look like from the outside. It’s hard to get a feel for the real structure of the immediate area of the Milky Way all around the Earth because we’re on the inside looking out.

Therefore, the National Science Foundation continued to study the problem with the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) — a system of ten radio telescopes spanning over 5,000 miles that provide an extremely focused view of radio waves.

The result of the new study shows that the Local Arm has more to it than we thought. “Our new evidence suggests that the Local Arm should appear as a prominent feature of the Milky Way,” said Alberto Sanna, one of the astronomers who worked on the study.

While the Local Arm still isn’t one of the biggest arms of the Milky Way, it’s much more substantial than we previously understood. It could be a significant branch of one of the two major arms surrounding us.

The researchers provided before and after images to show off Earth’s new upgrade. You can definitely see more of a spiral arm development in the after picture.

No wonder all of the Space Brothers keep sending those pesky UFOs to Earth. We’ve got one of the better Milky Way neighborhoods.

Earth’s Milky Way Galaxy Neighborhood Upgraded By Radio Telescope Discovery is a post from: The Inquisitr

A Breaking Bad Saul Goodman spinoff is “very much a possibility,” according to the crime-drama’s creator Vince Gilligan.

In recent comments reported by Today.com, Gilligan said that nothing was “written in stone, but we are working away on it.”

By “we,” Gilligan meant he and writer/producer Peter Gould, who created the character of Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) in the second season of AMC’s hit series. Gilligan noted that Gould and he had been talking, “trying to figure out what a Saul Goodman show would look like.”

(We’ve known about this plan since April, but Gilligan spilled a few more beans to Yahoo! about four days ago.)

“What would be the details of it, the particulars of it?” Gilligan said. “And we’re getting together to hash that out every chance we get.”

One of the key questions to ask regarding a Breaking Bad Saul Goodman spinoff is this: prequel or sequel?

Gilligan pointed out that Goodman knows “all the major players” in Albuquerque, so “we just have to figure out exactly what kind of story we’re telling.”

“Is it a story about his creation of his own character? Because Saul Goodman, as he explains in his first episode, is not his real name,” Gilligan said. “He is a self-created character, much like Heisenberg. Do we tell the story of his origins? We’re still trying to hash that out. But there are a lot of fun possibilities.”

Personally, we’d like to see this series as a sequel. For one, that would ensure the survival of our favorite slimy lawyer beyond what are sure to be the earth-shattering events of the last episodes. Secondly, Saul’s a much more interesting character as the amoral leach that he is. A prequel would strip that away, at least for a bit.

Regardless of the direction Gilligan and company end up going, we still won’t know what to expect until Breaking Bad wraps up with the final half of its fifth season, which begins August 11.

‘Breaking Bad’ Saul Goodman Spinoff ‘Very Much A Possibility,’ Creator Says is a post from: The Inquisitr

Boston, MA — A suicide reportedly occurred on the 164-foot yacht owned by Boston Red Sox owner John Henry this afternoon.

The as-yet unidentified deceased man was a crew member in his late 20s or early 30s and apparently died of cardiac arrest while the vessel was docked in Boston at Rowes Wharf behind the Boston Harbor Hotel near the city’s financial district.  First responders were unable to revive the man when they went aboard the yacht and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Only other crew members were on board the luxury yacht during this incident according to reports.

Apart from the report of cardiac arrest, authorities have not specifically released information on a cause of death. Investigators removed the body from the yacht at about 2 pm this afternoon.

The Boston Red Sox issued a statement about what the Boston police determined to be a suicide aboard John Henry’s yacht: “Earlier today, a crew member on the vessel, M/Y Iroquois, apparently took his life aboard the vessel docked at 30 Rowes Wharf. Mr. Henry and the members of the Boston Red Sox are saddened by the news and send deepest condolences to his family.”

Presumably more details will be forthcoming as the suicide investigation continues.

John Henry tried to sell the Iroquois in 2011 for $28 million but evidently couldn’t find a buyer.

Henry, chairman of John W. Henry & Co. Inc., a hedge fund, has owned the Red Sox with several partners since 2002 and formerly owned the-then Florida Marlins. He is also the principal owner of the Liverpool soccer team in the Premier League.

Suicide Reported On Red Sox Owner John Henry’s Yacht is a post from: The Inquisitr

Syria rebels have clashed with Hezbollah forces, in what is a first for the civil war, inside Lebanon’s borders over the past weekend.

Sources report that more than a dozen Syria rebels and at least one Hezbollah fighter were killed as fighting broke out in Lebanon’s eastern border region of Bekaa Valley and the town of Baalbek.The attack was believed to be carried out by Syria rebel forces, who have made public their intent to retaliate against Hezbollah guerrilla forces.

As one source reports, regarding the clash between Syria rebel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon:

“It is significant that there has been a clash inside Lebanese territory as it shows how determined the Syrian rebels are to target Hezbollah strongholds. It also shows how vulnerable Lebanon has become that they were able to cross the border.”

Hezbollah, an organization recognized by Israel and the United States as terrorist in nature, has established a strong presence in Lebanon, Syria’s smaller, southern neighbor.

Since the beginning of the civil war in Syria over two years ago, Shi’ite Muslim Hezbollah have come out in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, reported to have engaged Syria rebel forces together in several major battles.

Perhaps the biggest coordinated battle of Hezbollah/Loyalist forces was in the recent Assad-lead assault on a southern Syrian rebel stronghold, based in Qusayr.

The town, on the Syrian side of the Lebanon border, is known to house rebel weapon supplies. It has also become popular as a passage into Syria for the increasing number of Sunni Lebanese fighters entering the nation who do not support the Shi’ite Hezbollah forces or President Assad.

Syria rebels have made clear that the two-week siege of Qusayr, which the United Nations and humanitarian organizations have estimated could exceed 1,500 in casualties, will continue to provoke retaliatory strikes from rebels against Hezbollah forces inside of Lebanon.

Syria Rebels And Hezbollah Forces Battle In Lebanon is a post from: The Inquisitr

Nearly 3000 people have evacuated as a wildfire dubbed, “The Powerhouse Fire,” raged through southern California over the past few days.

This fire was reportedly broke out Thursday just north of Powerhouse No. 1, a hydroelectric plant near the Los Angeles Aqueduct.

As of today, many of the evacuated people are still not being allowed back to their homes, or what’s left of them in many cases.

This wildfire is responsible for scorching about 29,000 acres, destroying at least 6 homes, and threating many more as firefighters still work to contain the flames.

As of Monday, June 3, 2013 the fire was contained at about 40 percent as firefighters fought against high winds and dry conditions. Throughout the day some relief came as moist, humid air moved in.

Los Angeles County Fire Captain Mike McCormick told CNN, “We want to take advantage of the high humidity, get in there and do a direct attack and do all we can to get some of these hot spots put out so it doesn’t spread anymore.”

As to predictions of when the fire will finally be out, and it will be safe for residents to return to their homes, that is still unclear.

If weather conditions continue, firefighters are optimistic that the fires won’t get any worse, and will give them the chance to take better advantage of the situation.

They are hoping to have the fires completely put out by the middle of the week and hope to allow residents back into their homes by Tuesday.

The Powerhouse Fire isn’t the only one raging on. A wildfire located in New Mexico known as the Tres Lagunas Fire, is believed to have been caused by a downed power line.

According to CNN, the fire is about five percent contained and is responsible for scorching about 8,000 acres and forced the evacuation of about 100 summer homes.

3000 Evacuated As Multiple Fires Rage On [Video] is a post from: The Inquisitr

McKinney High School student Lauren Green might have a 3.98 GPA, but that didn’t stop school officials from banning her from attending the graduation ceremony. School administrators banned the 18-year-old because they allegedly caught her and a group of friends drinking alcohol at prom.

Green was ordered to attend an alternative school for 30 days, which will make her miss her graduation ceremony this Friday. She said that the administrators didn’t allow her to take a breathalyzer to prove her innocence, so she filed a lawsuit against the McKinney Independent School District.

However, Judge Mark Rusch dismissed the lawsuit because he could only address a school punishment if the student was expelled or denied a diploma.

Mari McGowan, an attorney for the school district, said that the district has a right to limit a student’s participation in a graduation ceremony for violating the district’s code.

“The district has made sure she’s gotten all her assignments, that she’s able to complete all her courses, take her exams, complete all of her course work, and will not be harmed in any way academically,” McGowan said. “This is a function of not participating on the day of graduation.”

Green isn’t the only high school student who has been banned from attending a graduation ceremony this year. Last month, seven students from East Carter High School in Kentucky were banned from graduation for releasing 10,000 crickets into the halls.

The crickets were still found hiding in nooks several days later, so the cleanup costs were very expensive, according to Principal Larry Kiser. Many people thought the school officials overreacted including State Senator Robin Webb.

“Graduation is one of those lifetime milestones and these kids with no previous records of any sort, I think it’s a little overreaching,” he said.

Justin Bieber is apparently a boy-man of few words these days. But, although his March social media riot acts may be a thing of the past, it seems he can still pack a punch when necessary.

In precisely 66 characters, the 19-year-old recently addressed two damaging stories — if they had been true — that have dominated the recent Bieber news cycle.

Namely, a paternity claim by a unidentified Swedish woman and the singer’s role in an alleged reckless driving incident.

A glut of media coverage greeted the arrival of both these entertainment news gifts, and attracted the usual mix of ‘Belieber’ defenders and virulent ‘haters’ on comment pages.

But such is the power of Twitter, especially when you’ve got an over 39 million audience and every media outlet in town refreshing your page every hour, that it can also be a powerful way for an embattled teen superstar to cut through days of speculative headlines.

Bieber delivered the dual K.O’s in response to a tweet from Tyler, The Creator.

On June 1, Tyler Gregory Okonma, a 22-year-old rapper-producer, publicly admitted he was behind the wheel of the singer’s white Ferrari during an alleged reckless driving incident on Memorial Day.

Tyler’s tweet read:

That Was Me Behind The Wheel Of Justins Vehicle. Don’t Blame Him. People Are Actually Evil Swearing Up And Down That It Was Who It Wasnt.

Okonma was referring to an alleged reckless driving incident and claims by two (possibly three) witnesses — including ex-NFL star Keyshawn Johnson — that Bieber’s Ferrari sped past them at “freeway” velocity in the gated Calabasas, Los Angeles neighborhood on May 27.

It’s now the subject of a Los Angeles police investigation and general gnashing throughout the interwebs. So, amid rumors that someone other than the singer had been driving and Johnson’s TMZ video missive, Tyler cleared up the furor.

Bieber’s response came two days later:

Brief and to the point, with just a dash of nuance, the singer thanked Tyler for his admission, tagging his tweet with a world weary rebut of a recent paternity claim.

The Canadian’s second in two years, it was originally reported by the tabloid Star Magazine. A 25-year-old woman claimed she had sex with a then 15-year-old Bieber after they met at a Miami Beach T.G.I. Friday’s on February 4, 2010.

The magazine cobbled together juvenile-sounding texts supposedly sent from an adolescent Bieber to the woman, a grainy picture of faceless kissers, and an inevitable ‘source’ who said the woman didn’t want money but was “100 sure” her approaching three-year-old daughter had a very famous, very rich daddy.

Although the story was laughable it did the media rounds because that’s what we do. Now, however, with Bieber’s short thrift denial this should put an end to the farce.

Meanwhile, back in Calabasas, the residents are reportedly revolting. Literally.

According to TMZ, homeowners in the gated community are apparently up in arms over the teen singer’s allegedly unruly behavior and are threatening to withhold payments of monthly service charges to the Homeowner Association.

Alleged causes of the mutiny are noisy parties, Bieber’s urban friends, assorted mutterings about segway riding, inhaling, reckless driving, and a more serious ongoing battery investigation still pending from March.

There may be truth to some, all or none of the above. But there’s also very little chance the ante won’t be vamped up on this latest crisis in Calabasas. So buckle up and strap in, the cycle has a new bone to chew.

As Bieber said: “I deal with this everyday.”

Karl Rove is upset that his Crossroads GPS super PAC is facing scrutiny while “liberal groups have operated for decades in the same way GPS does without Democrats complaining.”

But critics say Rove’s PAC is one of the worst when it comes to “bending the law.”

The Daily Beast noted that Crossroads GPS has massively outspent other 501(c)(4) groups on political expenditures over the last two national election cycles, while “fielding a tiny staff and offering no discernible social welfare purpose.”

The report continues: “If Rove and his colleagues intend to make the point that there are liberal groups that emulate the scheme perfected by Crossroads GPS, they are absolutely correct. Priorities USA, a 501(c)(4) organization started by former Obama aides, raised $2.3 million from only 5 donors according to its only tax returns filed to date. Like Crossroads GPS and every other 501(c)(4), Priorities USA doesn’t have to tell us who those donors were. Both groups also have a separate, disclosing super PAC—which, for the sake of clarity, do not factor into the data discussed in this article.”

While Rove has stopped short of accusing President Obama of directing the IRS in its plan to give extra scrutiny to conservative groups seeking tax exemption, he did say Obama had a chance to stop it and didn’t.

“And this administration has done an ineffective job of managing it,” Rove said. “When this issue came up in 2010, if the administration was serious about it, President Obama should have picked up the phone and called [Timothy] Geithner at Treasury and said, ‘You better get your secretary for Treasury or the undersecretary to check into this because this is corrosive of our democracy to have the IRS targeting conservative groups.’ ”

The debate over the IRS scandal comes as it appeared that Rove was moving toward the middle on some key social issues. When asked if he could imagine Republicans selecting a 2016 presidential candidate who gave full support for gay marriage, Rove said he could.

Though not a resounding endorsement, it is a big deal coming from Rove, a leader in getting same-sex initiatives on ballots. Karl Rove joins a number of other national Republicans in signaling at least some support for gay marriage.
