Breanna Mendoza was an eighth grade student at the Ducher Middle School in Turlock, California, who mercilessly bullied by classmates since grade school. They bullied her in person and posted threats on social media. One person who bullied her was even a former friend. She couldn’t take the terrible taunting anymore and feared being beaten up.

Breanna was born with Goldenhar syndrome, which is a rare congenital condition that causes the eye, ear, and spine to develop abnormally, according to the Huffington Post. Breanna said the following.

“I felt like I had no other reason to be alive. So I had sent a few text messages to a few of my friends saying, ‘I’m sorry, goodbye, that I care about you guys.'”

Breanna stopped attending school almost two months ago, according to ABC News Channel 10. A video of Breanna can be seen here. Breanna’s parents reported the threats to the Turlock Police Department and refuse to send her back to the same school if things don’t change. Instead, they want to send her to a charter school where she would attend in person one day per week and be home-schooled the remainder of the time. They also want her to have a full-time aide with her.

The principal of the school indicated that they are investigating as quickly as possible, which isn’t sufficient for her parents. Her mother, Wendy Mendoza, stated the following regarding how dangerous — literally life or death — it is for her daughter to return to school should anything happen, according to ABC News Channel 10.

“If the girls did get her, if they hit her in her face, it cuts off the airway and she can’t breathe which means she dies. You feel extremely angry that the school was doing nothing about it,. They were sweeping it under the rug. They weren’t even telling me that my daughter was being harassed.”

But once her story hit the media, she realized how many people are in support of her. Breanna received messages on social media that were loving and kind. Total strangers told her that they supported her. Bullies need not apply. Total strangers reached out to let her know they supported her. Local businesses offered a free photo shoot, with special makeup and clothing, so her inner beauty shines through.

But her favorite surprise was from the Children’s Craniofacial Association. It invited Breanna and her family to its annual family retreat in Newport Beach, California. There will be seven other families who have children with Goldenhar syndrome. According to the Huffington Post, Breanna said the following.

“I’m finally going to be able to meet kids like me. I’ve gotten so many friend requests. I’ve gotten so many people texting me saying, ‘We’re very proud of you, you’re so amazing, you’re beautiful, we love you.'”

It’s great that Breanna is getting the needed support to show her what a valuable, beautiful person she is. Unfortunately, some teens are pushed too far by bullies. The death of 14-year-old Raymond Howell Jr. was ruled a suicide. The McKinney Boyd High School, Texas, freshman’s body was found near a culvert beside busy Eldorado Parkway in McKinney. Friends and sources close to the family indicated that he had been bullied by older kids badly enough that he requested a transfer to another school, according to an article in the Inquisitr. Unfortunately, help didn’t arrive soon enough.

In the last month, Blue Bell has traced several cases of infectious bacteria in its ice cream products, from small to large size containers. So, for public safety, it has taken all its products from stores’ shelves.

This is an example of social corporate responsibility for the public brand of Blue Bell ice cream. This company has a definite accountability to uphold, especially since so many Southern ice cream lovers, prominently, choose Blue Bell over other brands.

While people ingest their ice cream products, it would be criminal for them to ignore such a public danger. On April 20, 2015, the company released an official statement on its website as a press release. In the statement, Blue Bell’s chief executive officer and president, Paul Kruse, gave a few words on the ice cream recall.

“We’re committed to doing the 100 percent right thing, and the best way to do that is to take all of our products off the market until we can be confident that they are all safe. We are heartbroken about this situation and apologize to all of our loyal Blue Bell fans and customers.

Our entire history has been about making the very best and highest quality ice cream and we intend to fix this problem. We want enjoying our ice cream to be a source of joy and pleasure, never a cause for concern, so we are committed to getting this right.

At every step, we have made decisions in the best interest of our customers based on the evidence we had available at the time. At this point, we cannot say with certainty how Listeria was introduced to our facilities and so we have taken this unprecedented step. We continue to work with our team of experts to eliminate this problem.”

According to Blue Bell’s release, the tainted ice cream cases have caused various deaths in Kansas and Texas, from bacteria called “Listeria monocytogenes.” However, to prevent any further Blue-Bell-related deaths from occurring, the company is assuring to do as it has implicated in its statements.

“The products being recalled are distributed to retail outlets, including food service accounts, convenience stores and supermarkets in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming and international locations.”

Hopefully, Blue Bell is able to get its ice cream situation sorted out. The company had a 108-year clean history without a single recall.

Blue Bell Ice Cream ‘Total Recall’ As All Its Products Are Pulled From Stores is an article from: The Inquisitr News

Full House rumors have officially led to something now. Full House is returning in a 13-episode order from Netflix, with the new installment to be called Fuller House. Entertainment Weekly revealed the big news early Tuesday (April 21), but it was John Stamos that made the big announcement on a Monday episode (April 20) of Jimmy Kimmel Live. That video can be seen below.

As for how the show will play out, the main players will be actresses Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. John Stamos is also expected to make appearances during the new show. All members of the original cast, they will serve as the focal point for the 13 new episodes. It is presumed that success with Fuller House could lead to more episodes being ordered by Netflix. If the original audience for Full House turns out, the provider might have another hit on its hands. EW went into detail about how the show will be presented.

“In Fuller House, the adventures of the original series continue on with D.J. Tanner-Fuller (hence the show’s title) now pregnant and recently widowed living in San Francisco. DJ’s younger sister and aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and her BFF and fellow single mom Kimmy Gibbler (Barber)—along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona—all move in to help take of DJ’s two boys, the rebellious J.D., 12, and the neurotic Max, 7.”

During the original run of Full House, 193 episodes for the show aired. John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Candace Cameron-Bure (D.J. Tanner), and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) appeared in all of them. It is unclear whether the show will be able to bring back all of the original cast, nor is it obvious whether that will be necessary. EW did note that, “discussions with original cast members Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier, and Lori Loughlin are ongoing.”

As previously reported on the Inquisitr, the new reincarnation of Full House was rumored at the beginning of April, but now fans have a lot of facts to go along with that original information. The revelation of the main plot is strikingly similar to the way the original show began, with the character played by Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), moving in with his brother-in-law and childhood friend after his wife died. Now the show is coming full-circle for a new generation of viewers.

The new version of Full House is expected to be ready by 2016, giving Netflix a lot of lead time to promote the show. An exact date for when the first episodes will be available is likely to come a bit later.

One of the big questions going into WWE Extreme Rules this Sunday is the health of Daniel Bryan, the current-Intercontinental champion. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, the WWE quickly shot down the rumor that Bryan sustained a concussion in recent weeks. The rumor of a concussion for Bryan first came up after he was sent home from WWE’s European tour prematurely.

On tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, Michael Cole and JBL were going through each of the matches at Extreme Rules that are supposed to take place on Sunday. Daniel Bryan and Bad News Barrett are supposed to wrestle each other for the Intercontinental title. That is, until an announcement on WWE Raw by the WWE announce team suggested otherwise.

Michael Cole and JBL mentioned on tonight’s RAW that Bad News Barrett vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan for Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view is in jeopardy due to Bryan’s health.

There are many clues that are starting to shape up that will allow the WWE Universe to insinuate that Bryan will not be healthy enough to compete at Extreme Rules. The current-Intercontinental champion posted an image on Instagram that questioned his health.

Focusing on the positive: today I picked my first blackberry from the five bushes a planted a couple months ago! Probably a few days too soon but delicious nonetheless.

Without reading too much into a simple post on social media, it’s also appropriate to think that Daniel Bryan is dealing with something that is serious; like a concussion. However, without the WWE confirming that Bryan is injured, the WWE Universe will have to wait and see what the official diagnosis is.

Furthermore, an announcement from Cole and JBL on WWE Raw is a bit different that in the recent-past. If there ever was an injury that wasn’t supposed to be public, Vince McMahon and the rest of the WWE officials wouldn’t have even commented on it. Bryan’s situation seems to be more serious than originally led to believe.

Will Daniel Bryan appear at WWE’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view this Sunday? That question is up in the air at the moment. While the clues continue to come in, it’s odd that Bryan has yet to address the situation. He missed another episode of WWE Raw tonight. That’s another program where he didn’t compete in.

WWE usually doesn’t leave their top guys off the major show, unless something is going wrong or they are written out of a storyline. Whatever the case may be, the WWE will have to announce something on Daniel Bryan’s situation sooner rather than later.

According to CNN News, Blue Bell has voluntarily recalled all of its products because of Listeria concerns. During the last several weeks, Blue Bell has been recalling different products from store shelves because of the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall includes the total stock of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, and frozen snacks no matter what size container or flavor.

The decision was made after the latest findings of Listeria in half gallons of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream purchased on March 17 and March 27.

Blue Bell has had several positive tests for the bacteria from different places where Blue Bell is sold. There have been documented cases of Listeria in Kansas and Texas. Three people in Kansas have died from Listeria over the past year from an outbreak that may have been linked to Blue Bell products.

Five people in Kansas became ill when they were treated at a Kansas hospital for unrelated illnesses. It was discovered that most of the patients had consumed Blue Bell ice cream at the hospital. That’s when Blue Bell recalled 3-ounce cups of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream after a test found Listeria in one of the cups from the Kansas hospital.

Even though Blue Bell is losing money, the company might also lose its reputation. Some Blue Bell customers might not ever purchase the products again after the recall is over. Even so, Blue Bell CEO and president Paul Kruse believes the total recall is the right thing to do. The Texas-based company made a statement about its recall.

The FDA indicates that Listeria can sometimes cause fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Some of the symptoms include high fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria is very dangerous to pregnant women because it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

About 1,600 people become seriously ill because of Listeria each year. About 16 percent of those people die.

USA Today listed all the states where Blue Bell is sold. Blue Bell said supermarkets in Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wyoming and international locations have all been instructed to stop selling the products. Customers have been warned not to consume any ice cream they have on hand. They are instructed to return it to the store where they bought it for a full refund.

No one knows officially when Blue Bell products will be back on store shelves. Consumers with questions are told to call Blue Bell at 866-608-3940 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Blue Bell Voluntarily Recalls All Of Its Products Over Listeria Concerns is an article from: The Inquisitr News

“The FBI’s three-decade use of microscopic hair analysis to incriminate defendants was a complete disaster,” according to Innocence Project co-founder Peter Neufeld. The Justice Department and FBI recently admitted that almost every examiner in the elite forensics team exaggerated their findings. What this will mean for the wrongfully convicted remains to be seen.

According to the Washington Post, Neufeld added “We need an exhaustive investigation that looks at how the FBI, state governments that relied on examiners trained by the FBI and the courts allowed this to happen and why it wasn’t stopped much sooner.”

The Innocence Project and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) are collaborating with the federal government in a massive review of suspected problems with forensic microscopic hair comparisons. They’ve found 26 out of the FBI’s specialized 28 person unit exaggerated their findings in a way that benefited the prosecution. The flawed testimony was present in over 95 percent of the 268 convictions reviewed so far.

The project aims to analyze 2,500 cases, but the results are already deeply disturbing, according to Senator and former prosecutor Richard Blumenthal.

“These findings are appalling and chilling in their indictment of our criminal justice system, not only for potentially innocent defendants who have been wrongly imprisoned and even executed, but for prosecutors who have relied on fabricated and false evidence despite their intentions to faithfully enforce the law.”

Experts even exaggerated testimony in 32 convictions that led to the death penalty. Nine of those death row inmates have already been executed; another 5 died while waiting in prison.

Microscopic hair analysis was considered the cutting edge of crime forensics before DNA testing became mainstream. Nevertheless, finding a match between a defendant and hair found at a crime scene comes down to the subjective opinion of the analyst. Deutsche Welle reports that there is no scientific protocol to support an analyst’s testimony.

Furthermore, there’s a conflict of interest with having such experts working in the same offices as the prosecutors, according to Penn State University’s forensic expert David Kaye.

“You’ve got a laboratory in the FBI working with a prosecutor from the Department of Justice in which the FBI sits – they have a relationship. You want to please people. It’s easy to see how people could be overconfident.”

The subjectivity of the tests and blind authority given to the experts created a perfect storm of flawed testimony and perjury.

Still, that might not mean much for the hundreds of people convicted in trials using erroneous testimony. Of course, many of the trials utilized other evidence to convict the defendant.

Defense attorneys who did not object to the FBI testimony during the trial will also have more difficulty challenging previous rulings.

Kaye told Deutsche Welle the future is still “very unclear.”

“The FBI, the Innocence Project, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers are going around telling the old defense lawyers here’s a problem with the testimony, but whether they’re going to get relief from that is very unclear.”

FBI hair analysis has largely gone out of fashion because of modern DNA testing, but the review still has major implications for expert testimony on ballistics, bite marks, fibers, tool marks and other forensic fields.

A Muslim couple were in Sydney for just a day when they were abused by an unknown woman on an Airport Line train. They sat quietly and took the abuse. Stacey Eden, 23, overheard the middle-aged female ranter insulting the Muslim couple as “ISIS terrorists.” She was recorded on video standing up for the couple, and posted a short video on Facebook and wrote the following, according to the Metro.

“People who are so ignorant and disrespectful to other people who were clearly sitting there minding their own business.”

And Stacy confronted the female bully, stating the following.

“She was saying some pretty horrible and hurtful things before I spoke up then as soon as I started defending them she stopped….You’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything, simple.”

Eventually the bully quieted down when confronted. According to the Daily Mail, the couple are “hardworking, honest, and kind” parents of a little baby boy. They moved from Pakistan several years ago seeking a better life in Australia, not expecting such a prejudicial confrontation, apparently. Friends of the couple, Hafeez Batthi, 33, and his wife, Khalida, 26, indicated that they are grateful to call Australia home for themselves and their newborn baby son, Mohammad.

Mr. Bhatti was taken aback and surprised by the nasty comments, and stated the following according to the Daily Mail.

“She asked my wife why she was wearing a scarf when it was hot outside. When my wife answered her I thought the woman was asking to be friendly. Then she started saying Muslims like us are trying to conquer Australia and behead everyone here. We were absolutely shocked. It was just very disappointing….She said all Muslims should be kicked out of Australia. I tried to calm things down by telling her we love everyone.”

Mr. Bhatti noted that a second woman supported the racist woman and the incident caused them to miss their flight home. And he indicated that his wife was quite shaken up by the incident. He stated that this was not the first time that they had to face such despicable conduct.

“This sort of thing has happened before, but you try to ignore it and the ignorant people behind it; there are lots of very good people in Australia and only a few bad ones. God bless Stacey Eden who supported us.”

Mr Bhatti posted a thank-you to Eden on his Facebook page. stating the following.

“Stacey thanks again for your support for us on that day….I generally believe that you and many other Australian do respect all religions.”

Ms. Eden was scheduled to meet with the police regarding the incident, and detectives were trying to contact the Bhattis.

A Montreal woman was also subjected to a similar racist attack, according to an article in the Inquisitr.

Commuter Stands Up For Muslim Couple Being Racially Abused On Commuter Train–Video Goes Viral [Video] is an article from: The Inquisitr News

An Oklahoma woman has been charged with neglect after her baby was left to die on her cockroach infested floor. Brittany Cherokee Dawn Bell says that she believes one of her other children (18-month-old twins) may have killed the infant out of jealousy, but an autopsy has concluded that the cause of death is SIDS. Baby Alice was only three-months-old when she died, reports The Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old mother reportedly took a nap on her couch on the day of the incident, admitting that she laid the baby on the floor instead of putting her in a crib or other appropriate place. She had lied at first, claiming that she’d put the baby in the crib but woke up to her on the floor. She told police that one or both of her 18-month-old twin children may have smothered her to death out of jealousy, but it’s not known if she said this before or after admitting to laying baby Alice on the floor herself.

The medical examiner that did the autopsy believes that the child may have succumbed to SIDS due to being left on the floor unprotected and exposed. Furthermore, the medical examiner determined that the infant had been left on the floor long enough for cockroaches — which infested the apartment — to begin feeding on her. The infant’s body was covered in bites from the horrible little insects, indicating that she had been there for an extended period of time.

Tulsa World reports that the other remaining children in the home have been removed from Bell’s care. She is scheduled to appear before a judge on May 8th regarding the neglect charges she has been given. She is currently being held on $10k bond. Reports indicate that the mother has a history of leaving her children unattended. Neighbors have reportedly called the police on her numerous times leading up to this tragic incident.

This is indeed a horrific case of child neglect. It’s not often at all that stories come out so severe that insects have reportedly fed on the victims. Nonetheless, these horrible things do happen, and mothers like Brittany Cherokee Dawn Bell aren’t completely uncommon. Neglect stories involving cockroaches aren’t completely uncommon either. Back in 2013 The Huffington Post reported that two parents were arrested and charged with neglect after one of their children went to school with a cockroach in his ear.

It’s not only her new curves that are getting all the attention! Apparently, Selena Gomez’s love life is also in the spotlight as the former Disney star faces rumors of a break-up.

After the artist’s split with Justin Bieber, Gomez was linked to Zedd, whom she worked with on a single entitled “I Want You to Know.” After the song’s release, the two have been seen hanging out together and they even openly gushed about each other in numerous interviews.

Although the couple have not confirmed their relationship status, Gomez has, on several occasions, hinted that they are more than just friends. Recently, a source claimed that the singer does not only think that Zedd has “beautiful eyes”, she also thinks that he is “marriage material.”

“Selena definitely wants to have kids one day,” the source revealed. “She thinks Zedd is marriage material and perfect dad material. They’ve talked about kids and both of them want a big family.”

However, recent rumors are now saying that Gomez’s fairy tale ending with Zedd might not come true. According to another insider, the two called it quits after the artist realized that she still has the Bieber fever. An insider dished to Hollywood Life.

On the other hand, there may be hope for the couple’s relationship. Fashion & Style asserts that the two are still together and going strong. In an article, the online news source cited that Zedd have been doing some pretty romantic gestures for his lady love Gomez.

The singer currently has her hands full with the filming of In Dubious Battle. Before leaving for the movie’s filming in Atlanta, Zedd surprised Gomez with a special gift in relation to the film.

An insider revealed that before Gomez left, Zedd gave her a first edition novel of In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck. “Selena could not get over how thoughtful that was. She thought it was the most romantic thing ever,” the insider said.

Recently The Inquisitr reported that Johnny Depp had gone missing after sources such as the Gold Coast Bulletin and Vanity Fair reported that the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star had missed his plane bound for Australia.

Johnny Depp was expected to board a charter plane from Los Angeles to Australia where the actor would resume filming on his current Pirates of the Caribbean movie. He had returned to the US after needing surgery on his finger thanks to an injury he sustained on set back in March. As a result of this, Depp had not been seen in public since March 12 2015.

Fans went into a frenzy when the news first broke about Johnny Depp not arriving in Australia, especially since the actor did not check in with anyone or alert the media to the fact he was okay. Also concerning were the reports of marital woes between Depp and his wife, Amber Heard. To add intrigue to the mix, Amber did not make a public statement at all in relation to either Johnny Depp’s disappearance or their martial problems which led to fans beginning to think the worst. Some media outlets were also suggesting Johnny Depp may have returned to the US to undergo rehab.

But it turns out all is well for Johnny Depp after Australia’s Channel Nine posted the following picture assuring fans Depp had in fact touched down in Australia. It also seems he and his wife were attempting to quash any rumors their relationship was on the rocks with the pair holding hands as they alighted from their plane.

As yet neither Channel Nine or Johnny Depp have not offered an explanation as to the actor’s sudden disappearance. Filming is now expected to resume shortly on the fifth installment of the Pirates of Caribbean franchise.

This is not the first disruption to filming Pirates of the Caribbean. Back in February filming was halted due to Tropical Cyclone Nathan. Then, not long ago, there was a fiasco involving a scammer who managed to cash in on a legitimate request for “busty wenches” for the movie. Hopefully this latest delay will be the last in what is normally a very successful franchise.

Is Patrick Dempsey leaving Grey’s Anatomy at the end of Season 11? A new report released by Page Six on Monday shared the possibility of Dempsey leaving the series in the near future because of problems between him and Shonda Rhimes. The report claimed that the actor’s “diva” behavior on set is to blame.

This is the not the first time that reports have surfaced about Patrick Dempsey’s future on the series. The actor spoke about his plans to leave Grey’s Anatomy “very soon” back in November. He was ready to focus on new projects creatively and spend more time on his racing.

“Patrick has been acting like a diva and has clashed with Shonda. She suspended him for a while, and the word on set is that he isn’t coming back full time. Given all the past problems with Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington, there is little tolerance on the show for troublesome talent.”

However, a representative for the actor has spoken out to deny the report. The rep said that the report is completely “not true.”

Why are these rumors surfacing now?

It could be due to Derek Shephard’s disappearing act for most of Grey’s Anatomy Season 11. Derek took the job in Washington D.C. after a frosty start to Season 11 for him and Meredith. However, Derek returned to Seattle in a rush on an episode that aired earlier this month after Meredith called his phone and another woman answered.

After he explained the situation to her and she thought it over, he told her that he wanted her and their marriage. He returned to D.C. to quit his job, but he never made it to the meeting. This led to Meredith stressing out over his lack of contact during the last episode.

Thursday’s episode will show the reason for missing the meeting. He was involved in a car accident. There is no hint that Derek will die as a result of the accident, but anything is possible when it comes to shows by Shonda Rhimes. No one saw the “death” of Jake Ballard, played by Scott Foley, coming on the last episode of Scandal.

Patrick Dempsey has not had an easy year. In January, his wife, Jillian Fink, filed for divorce, and it was revealed that the actor and his wife did not have a prenuptial agreement. He was still wearing his wedding ring after she filed the papers.

Dempsey did speak about the divorce, and he hinted at the reason for the split, according to Extra.

“It would be nice to be one-pointed and not spread so thin sometimes. I think where I’m going is to really streamline and be much more specific in balancing things a little bit better than I have in the past. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have ‘Grey’s’ run as long as it has. It’s been a tremendous gift, and it’s allowed all of this to happen. That’s been taking up a lot of time, and of course, you have a life off the track and your family and trying to balance that out and make that work and then focusing on the racing.”

Patrick Dempsey spoke again for his love of racing and his future departure from Grey’s Anatomy at an event earlier this month. It was the first time the actor had stepped out since his divorce went public in January, according to Wetpaint Entertainment.

“Grey’s Anatomy has been an amazing ride, and I’ll be forever grateful; it has a real magic to it. There are so many elements that work well; the cast, the music, the editing. But after three straight months filming, the rest of this year is 100 percent focused on driving. At this level you have to be completely committed, and I want to see just how good I can get.”

These comments only added fuel to the speculation that Dempsey’s exit from Grey’s Anatomy was imminent. Fans have taken the news in, and they have shared their outrage over the potential departure on Twitter in huge numbers. Fans are not at all happy about the news reports.

Could one little girl’s night terrors hold the key to discovering what really caused her mother’s untimely death? Natali Castellanos-Tyler, 30, died in a car crash in Virginia on February 21. The police ruled the accident as a single-car collision resulting from slick road conditions. However, windower Craig Tyler is now questioning the verdict after his 4-year-old daughter began having nightmares about a “white van” that “hurt” her and her car.

WTVR reports that mother Natali and her 4-year-old daughter, Elisa, were just a few miles away from their home when the family vehicle veered off the road, smashing into a tree. Natali died from her injuries, but Elisa was mostly unharmed with just a few minor scratches. The accident was ruled as a tragic consequence of slick road conditions. However, Craig is now wondering if there is more to the story after his daughter started having night terrors about a white van.

Craig says that young Elisa will frequently wake from the night screaming out about a white van. He says the nightmares are getting so severe that the child will sometimes scream out during the day as well.

“The nightmares were in the nighttime and now they’re coming into the day. She’ll just start walking and she’ll start screaming ‘the van, the white van!’ I’ll say ‘what happened with the white van’ and she says ‘it hurt me — it hurt my car!’ “

Craig said that initially he took his daughter to the doctor about the episodes but they were baffled. No one could explain why she was having this specific nightmare. Family members tried to comfort the child, but say that they think they now know what may be causing the fits after seeing some startling information in local Facebook posts about a menacing white van.

Craig says a number of people in neighboring cities started posting about a white van involved in a number of hit-and-run accidents. Craig now wonders if another vehicle, a white van, could have been involved in his wife’s fatal collision. Three separate incidents involving a white box van side-swiping people and leaving the scene have been reported. A 17-year-old driver says she was side-swiped by the van on March 30, another female driver says she too was side-swiped by a white van on March 29. A third incident involved a white box van side-swiping a school bus of children before leaving the scene.

Despite Craig’s suspicion that the van could have been involved, police say that there is no evidence of another vehicle being involved in the accident.

On Monday, Justice Barbara Jaffe of the New York Supreme Court gave legal rights to two chimpanzees, then took them back. The judge initially wrote the words “writ of habeas corpus” in a court order, implying the chimps had “legal person” status to challenge their detainment as unlawful. Supporters celebrated the decision before the judge struck out the words. Still, the great apes will receive their day in court, metaphorically speaking.

The Guardian reports two chimpanzees, named Hercules and Leo, are fighting to get out of medical experiments in Stony Brook University on Long Island and resettle in a Florida animal sanctuary. Attorneys at the Nonhuman Rights Project filed the case in December, 2013.

The chimps, defended by human attorneys, won a major victory when the judge granted a “writ of habeas corpus,” which will force the president of Stony Brook to come to court and defend the detainment. The ruling had the chimps’ supporters cautiously optimistic.

Lead attorney Steven Wise said, “This is one step in a long, long struggle.”

“She never says explicitly that our non-human plaintiffs were persons but by issuing the order [habeas corpus] … she’s either saying implicitly that they are or that they certainly can be. So that’s the first time that has happened.”

He added, “It feels great. We knew it was going to happen sometime.”

The party didn’t last long. The judge quickly erased the chimpanzees legal rights and a spokesman denied she ever meant to imply personhood.

Whether or not they are persons with legal rights aside, the order will still stand, and the university will have to defend the detainment, which is an opportunity the Nonhuman Rights Project welcomes. Science reports the group gave a new statement on the amended order.

“This case is one of a trio of cases that the Nonhuman Rights Project has brought in an attempt to free chimpanzees imprisoned within the State of New York through an ‘Article 70-Habeas Corpus’ proceeding. These cases are novel and this is the first time that an Order to Show Cause has issued. We are grateful for an opportunity to litigate the issue of the freedom of the chimpanzees, Hercules and Leo, at the ordered May hearing.”

As for the university, they issued a statement saying they do not comment on pending litigation. The judge’s order is also largely administrative and does not show any leaning the court might take during the May hearing.

What implications legal rights for chimpanzees would have had for the U.S. legal system could have been interesting, but just getting a chance at freedom will likely be good enough for Leo and Hercules.

Paris Hilton’s heart is broken. Her beloved canine companion, Tinkerbell the chihuahua, passed away at 14 years old. She was Hilton’s constant companion and can be even said to have started the rage of people having arm-candy pets. Paris dedicated her Instagram page on Tuesday to her beloved dog. She stated the following according to the Daily Mail.

“My heart is broken. I am so sad & devastated. After 14 amazing years together my baby Tinkerbell has passed away of old age. I feel like I’ve lost a member of my family….She was such a special & incredible soul. We went through so much together. I can’t believe she’s gone. I will miss her & think about her for the rest of my life. I love you Tinky, you are a Legend & will never be forgotten. #RIPTinkerbell.”

Paris and Tinkerbell catapulted to fame on the reality show The Simple Life, which co-starred Nicole Richie. She purchased the chi in 2002, after supposedly being inspired by the movie Legally Blonde, in which Reese Witherspoon had a dress-alike Chihuahua.

People continued to ask about Tinkerbell, as a celebrity in her own right, and in October, Paris responded to inquiries on Instagram by stating “[t]o everyone who keeps asking if Tinkerbell is alive. Here she is, the original queen herself!”

In a recent interview, animal-loving Paris was asked which of her menagerie was her favorite and, although she couldn’t choose, she did indicate a special fondness for Tinkerbell. She stated the following according to the Daily Mail.

“I have seven dogs, three cats, five sugar gliders….They’re like my children, I can’t pick a favorite. But Peter Pan is, like, one of my favorites. And Tinkerbell.”

On her Facebook page, Paris, 34, thanked everyone for the many condolences, and stated the following.

“Thank you for all so much for your kind words & condolences. It’s really helping me through this very sad & painful time. It feels good to know that Tinkerbell was loved by all & touched the lives of so many. She is truly missed. Thank you again. Love you all.”

During a burglary in 2004, the dog was missing until Paris offered a $5,000 reward, according to the Tweed Daily News.

Rest in Peace Tinkerbell. Dog lovers can relate to losing a beloved companion, especially one that you have for almost 14 years.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are making their divorce official, and rumors indicate that the Coldplay frontman is already moving on with his new love interest.

Paltrow filed divorce papers on Monday after a year of “conscious uncoupling,” officially ending the marriage. Reports claim that Chris pushed to officially end the marriage so that he can move forward with girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who sources say was not happy that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were not taking steps to finalize their split.

As Celeb Dirty Laundry reported, Chris Martin may now be planning on proposing to Jennifer.

“After months of J-Law threatening to dump him, Chris Martin finally took the plunge and officially divorced his wife Gwyneth – and sources say he did it all for his girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who he now plans to propose to. Chris is very serious about Jennifer Lawrence, but he wasn’t necessarily rushing to divorce Gwyn until he realized that he really was going to lose the Hunger Games star if he didn’t.”

While Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow haven’t said much about their split, court documents obtained by People magazine shows that the couple has actually been separated for much longer than either of them had let on. The report claimed that Gwyneth filed a petition for divorce on Monday, listing their date of separation as May 6, 2013.

If true, that means the couple split up almost a full year before announcing it to the world. It was in March of last year that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow made the now-famous announcement that they were “consciously uncoupling.”

Paltrow later said she regretted using the term.

“I made a mistake in that I didn’t give it context. Like, I didn’t say, ‘This is… a philosophy,’ ” she told Howard Stern on his radio show. “But it’s a very noble idea, and it’s a great thing, I think, to try to do for your kids. And it’s working, but it is kind of a goofy term and I didn’t know it was going to cause such a big thing.”

The couple has two children together, 10-year-old Apple and 9-year-old Moses. Gwyneth is seeking joint custody.

With their divorce becoming official, it seems that both Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are ready to move on. While rumors indicate that Chris and Jennifer Lawrence are getting serious, Gwyneth has also been moving forward in her relationship with Glee producer Brad Falchuk.

Authorities in Dubuque, Iowa are looking for 19-year-old Tori A. Walters. The missing woman hasn’t been in contact with her loved ones in at least four days — and that’s not even the most suspicious detail in this case. ABC News 9 reports that the 19-year-old woman “seemed distraught” the last time she talked to her sister, which was around April 17th. She was reported missing on Monday, and as of late Tuesday night she still has not been found.

TH Online reports that the missing woman may be endangered. The Iowa Department of Public Safety is assisting in the search for Tori, but there are very few details on which to investigate. What is known in her disappearance is that she left voluntarily around April 2nd, when she drove a group of three or four men to Chicago. She stayed in Chicago, but around April 16th she called her sister to ask for money so that she could get back home to Iowa. Her mother sent her the money under the idea that she would be coming home that very next day (the two cities are only about three hours apart).

Tori Walters may be driving a gray 2005 Chevy Equinox with Iowa license plates — though the plate number has not yet been released to the media. She is reportedly white, standing at 5’1″ and around 120 lbs., with red hair and hazel eyes — though the only photo being shared with the media doesn’t show the color of her hair very well. Her public Facebook profile shows a variety of other photos, however. Some of the photos show that her hair color can and has changed. Her shade of red is also apparently a very bright and unnatural shade.

As far as social media is going, there doesn’t appear to be much focus on this 19-year-old Iowa woman’s disappearance. Searches for her name have only returned news reports and her own personal social media profiles — which offer a window into the lifestyle she lived. This missing woman’s case is very thin on details. Meanwhile, authorities are doing their best to locate her.

There has been a lot of coverage on bullies who taunt emotionally and even physically harm other students, making attending school unbearable if not dangerous. Ashley Shupe has apparently had enough and is suing the Tennessee’s Dickson County School District, seeking $300,000 for what she says, according to court documents, amounted to “negligence and deliberate indifference” to her son’s educational rights, according to Yahoo Parenting. It’s gotten to the point that her son would rather commit suicide than face the bully.

According to Shupe, her son Kaiden Shupe experienced bullying when a second grader in 2013, being pushed and shoved by another student. Ashley Shupe wrote a letter to the boy’s teacher. She wrote another letter when she discovered that he was again being bullied. By then, Kaiden was isolating himself and was extremely depressed, even attempting to strangle himself, throw himself from a height, and stop eating, according to the Daily Mail.

Shupe last spring met with her son’s teacher, a guidance counselor, and the principal of Oakmont Elementary School, and indicated that she wanted the bully to have no contact with her son. Unfortunately, despite the school agreeing to keep the bully away from Kaiden, he allegedly still had contact at recess with Kaiden, injuring him with a basketball, bruising his face. Kaiden’s also had bruises and cuts on his body.

She has filed a police report. She has also notified the school that Kaiden has been diagnosed with clinical depression because of the bullying. Shupe said the following, according to Yahoo Parenting.

“The emotional and terrible abuse that this child [has endured] has affected him tremendously. I won’t send him back until I feel that he’s safe and protected.”

Shupe stated that, after speaking with FOX 17 WZTV Nashville, administrators made her son sit alone in the lunchroom, alluding to retaliation by the district. Although privacy laws prevent the district from discussing the specific case, the school director stated that every bullying report is investigated. Shupe and her attorney plan on meeting with district officials next week.

Too many students have been harmed by bullying. Perhaps this case will come to a resolution in the best interests of the child. In another recent death allegedly as a result of bullying, a student committed suicide. The death of 14-year-old Raymond Howell, Jr. was ruled a suicide. The McKinney Boyd High School, Texas, freshman’s body was found near a culvert beside busy Eldorado Parkway in McKinney. Friends and sources close to the family indicated that he had been bullied by older kids badly enough that he requested a transfer to another school, according to an article in the Inquisitr.

The fate of two frozen embryos has become a public battle between actress Sofia Vergara and her ex-boyfriend Nick Loeb — stirring up the existential debate of when exactly life begins.

Florida businessman Nick Loeb filed a lawsuit last week against former fiancé Vergara, accusing the Modern Family star of trying to thaw and destroy two female frozen embryos that the couple had produced while they were together.

Vergara’s lawyer says Loeb’s claims are “uncredible and hold no merit,” yet the millionaire businessman stands by the lawsuit, telling Us Magazine he’s always dreamed of being a father and stands committed to bringing the two embryos to life and parenting on his own.

“I have always strongly believed that life begins at fertilization and that every embryo is a life on the journey towards birth. I created these two female embryos with the purpose of taking them to term and not destruction, because I have always dreamed of being a father,” Loeb reportedly said in a statement to Us Magazine.

Loeb reportedly requested that a judge issue a “no-destruction” order for the embryos, which are currently being stored in a Beverly Hills fertility clinic. Loeb ultimately hopes to father the children the former couple had planned together, should the embryos come to term via surrogacy.

Loeb reportedly told US Magazine he was willing to waive Vergara’s parental and financial responsibilities in order to be able to raise the children they had intended to parent together.

Meanwhile, Colombian bombshell Sofia Vergara — engaged to actor Joe Manganiello — is in the midst of promoting her new film, Hot Pursuit, and has refrained from commenting on the case.

Citing what may be a clear case of “sour grapes” of a jilted ex-boyfriend, Vergara’s lawyer Fred Silberberg issued a statement on her behalf, calling Loeb’s claims “without merit.” Vergara has no intention of destroying the embryos – says Silberberg — as the legal consent forms signed by both her and Loeb clearly state that neither party can destroy the embryos without mutual consent.

Vergara and Loeb called off their engagement in May 2014.

Japan is considering a moon landing in 2018 as its regional rivals increase investment in aerospace. In a return to the Apollo days, the mission would be unmanned, but the prospects of an Asian space race is exciting to some space watchers.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) gave a proposal for the lunar landing to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on Monday. The project still requires funding, but there’s at least one reason to believe Japan will start investing heavily in its space program: competition.

Japan has fallen behind China, and it could potentially slip behind other emerging powers like India. According to CNN, China has completed five manned spaceflight missions with their Shenzhou “Divine Vessel” modules, making it the 3rd country to send someone into orbit.

Japan, on the other hand, has never launched a human into space, although a Japanese astronaut did hitch a ride to the International Space Station. China also has its eyes set on an eventual moon landing. In October of last year, China launched an unmanned spacecraft to orbit the moon, a precursor to a landing.

China’s large strides have Japan’s government fearing a “power imbalance” in space according to ABC News.

A document from Shinzo Abe’s government stated, “There are areas of unlimited potential yet to be developed, and to boost controls of future threats it is important to minimize the power vacuum in space exploration.”

“A revival of competition and cooperation in moon exploration adds to the imperative for us to quickly achieve moon exploration.”

Still, JAXA has to get over a number of obstacles, starting with money.

The agency’s budget hasn’t increased in five years, still at a measly $1.5 billion (America spent roughly $40 billion on space flight in 2013, and China spent about $11 billion according to RT). Japan’s space program also doesn’t have a large military infrastructure to help with development.

Nevertheless, there are hopes that Prime Minister Abe will increase spending as part of his plans to develop technologies with defense applications. JAXA also recently reorganized and teamed up with the Science and Technology Agency, which might allow them to gain more resources.

Likewise, Japan’s public broadcaster, NHK, has been showing off satellite pictures of the aurora borealis and Japanese islands at night to drum up interest in space tourism.

If JAXA’s plans receive funding and approval, Japan will still be about a year behind. China plans to land on the moon in 2017, and to recover soil samples. A second place prize in a race to the moon with China would have seemed unimaginable in 1970, when Japan became the first Asian country to launch a satellite in orbit.

In the meantime, other organizations are trying to leapfrog over the moon and get right to Mars. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the controversial non-profit Mars One has already selected a group of finalists for a $6 billion one-trip to colonize Mars. Although many doubt the project will get off the ground, at least one prospective Mars explorer is already making plans to have the first Martian baby.

As for Japan’s plans for a moon landing, it might only be one aspect of the country’s catch-up plan for space exploration, but it might be enough to galvanize the government and people to go even further.

After a domestic violence arrest and rumors of a heated split, comparing Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith’s engagement to a rollercoaster ride would be an understatement. However, recent rumors claim that the wild ride might be over for the two as sources point out evidence that Evans and Griffith have already called it quits.

A series of social media posts made by Evans implies that she is indeed single. On her Instagram account, she posted a recent mirror selfie showing off her “weird outfit.” Upon close inspection, it appears that the Teen Mom 2 star is no longer wearing her engagement ring.

OK Magazine cited a more revealing post made by Evans on Facebook. On her page, the Teen Mom wrote, “Introducing some random chick to our son? Wow that was fast.” Evans’ message was clear as crystal and there is no doubt that the post was directed to her baby’s father Griffith. The magazine also added that in a separate post, Evans called Griffith’s new girlfriend a “home wrecker.”

Despite the posts on Evans’ social media accounts, In Touch Weekly claims that the couple are actually back together.

Just recently, In Touch Weekly came across a throwback photo that Evans posted on her Instagram profile. In the picture, her son Kaiser is joined by Griffith. Evans then captioned the snap with, “Like father like son, old pic I found. Adorable!”

Evans and Griffith have not given any comment regarding the status of their relationship. This means no one can tell for sure what the real deal between the two is but despite that fact, many are happy for Evans. Apparently, the Teen Mom star serves as an inspiration for her amazing transformation from being a divorced druggie to an aspiring nurse.

Last week, Evans announced her upcoming externship which is a big step in her nursing career. In her Twitter account, the Teen Mom wrote, “Never thought I would be where I am today… Starting my externship and super stoked and excited but scared at the same time.”
