The endangered species list could be saying goodbye to a certain breed of large cat eventually. That doesn’t mean they’re about to die off though. Quite the opposite; this large cat, the rarest on Earth, has shown significant growth in numbers since 2007.

Nearly ten years ago, the Amur leopard numbered about 30 in total, marking it as the most critically endangered cat on the planet, beating out the Siberian tiger. Both of these cats are moving up in numbers, but this isn’t a call for hunters to make plans for capture. The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) would be quite upset by that, and animal activists would likely be their greatest ally.

Cameras were set up in the Land of the Leopard National Park to count the Amur leopard, and after collecting around 10,000 photographs, scientists used the distinctive pattern of spots on individual leopards to narrow the number down to the 57 that we have today, not counting about 10 of them living in nearby parts of China. That still makes these large cats extremely rare.

The Siberian tiger was numbered around 56 total in the area in 2009 and since then, due to the efforts of wildlife conservationists, that number has grown. About 350 others have been known to live in other parts of the Russian far east.

WWF director Barney Long has remarked on the comeback of the Amur leopard, a long-time part of the endangered species list.

“Such a strong rebound in Amur leopard numbers is further proof that even the most critically endangered big cats can recover if we protect their habitat and work together on conservation efforts. There’s still a lot of work to be done in order to secure a safe future for the Amur leopard, but these numbers demonstrate that things are moving in the right direction.”

Even though the large cat has nearly doubled in population in less than a decade, this feline is far from ready to leave the endangered species list. It’s just not as rare as it was, but it’s still among the critically endangered.

The Land of the Leopard National Park, founded in 2012, has been a positive influence on the population of these critically endangered cats, and if numbers continue to grow, we may just see the Amur leopard leave the endangered species list entirely.

That could take decades, and a lot can change in that span of time.

Tiffany Cole and Emilia Carr, two female death row inmates at Lowell Correctional Institution will tell their side of the story in an interview with Diane Sawyer during an upcoming episode of 20/20. A brief look at the upcoming episode shows the face of two callous killers without an ounce of remorse as they state that they were quickly and unfairly sentenced to death row because they are not rich kids.

Tiffany Cole and Emilia Carr have a lot in common, they are both in their 30’s, they both say they are innocent and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they are both convicted of heinous murders that left the victims’ families and their communities in shambles.

Tiffany Cole’s case gained national attention in 2005, after she was arrested for the murder of an elderly couple that she had befriended. Carol and Reggie Sumner had been neighbors of Tiffany Cole. They knew Cole and felt comfortable with her. The couple sold her a vehicle and had discussed their finances with her. Little did they know, the sale of that vehicle was the entry that Cole needed to get back into the couple’s home to rob and kill them. Court records show that Tiffany and three male friends arrived at the Sumner’s home and asked the 61-year old couple if they could use their telephone.

Instead, they bound and gagged them with duck tape and drove them to Georgia, where a makeshift grave was prepared. That’s when prosecutors say the elderly couple was pushed into the grave and covered over with dirt while they were still alive. An autopsy report confirmed that both victims inhaled dirt as they hugged each other until they died. When police were led to the bodies, the couple was found with their arms wrapped tightly around each other. Tiffany Cole and the other defendants were all found guilty of murder.

Just as disturbing, the Emilia Carr case made headlines in 2009, after the body of Heather Strong was found dead in a shallow grave in McIntosh, Florida. In that case, Emily Lily Carr, aka Emilia Yera, killed rival Heather Strong so she could be with the man they both shared, a man named Joshua Fulgham who was involved in a sexual relationship with Carr and expecting a child with her.

Heather Strong had been reported missing the 4 weeks prior to the discovery of her body. Prosecutors allege that Emilia Carr was jealous that Joshua Fulgham had chosen to marry Heather Strong, and she wanted her to pay with her life. The day she went missing, Emilia Carr lured Heather Strong to a trailer directly behind the home of Joshua Fulgham’s parents. That’s when police say they put their plan in motion to get rid of her by putting a plastic bag over her head and suffocating her as she was bound to a computer chair. Emilia Carr was arrested and found guilty of murder.

In both of these gruesome cases a jury sentenced Emilia Carr and Tiffany Cole to death. In Diane Sawyer’s segment with the two killers, she will hear their side of the story and examine what life is like for the two women on death row.

Things between Sarah and Dominic are going pretty well so far. They both attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation 23rd Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party last Sunday, and according to InStyle, she was noticeably cozy and close with her new found boyfie.

However, Sarah Hyland’s words of praise for recently awarded Theory of Everything Star Eddie Redmayne led a few fans to speculate if the actress’ admiration for the 33-year-old star is a hint of attraction towards the actor. InStyle recently asked Hyland what her favorite part of the Oscar’s night was and this was her response.

“My highlight of the night was Eddie Redmayne’s win. I wanted him to win so badly. He’s just the nuggetiest nugget of all the nuggets in nuggetland. He’s so adorable and amazing and so brilliant. Everyone’s so good, but there’s just something about him that caught me this year. I also thought Neil Patrick Harris was amazing—I thought it was a great show.”

We have soooo many questions about this. First, what or where in the world is nuggetland? That sounds like a totally amazing place. Secondly, does Sarah Hyland have a crush on Eddie Redmayne?

The easy answer here is maybe. Or maybe not. We actually have no idea. Until the word “adorable”, it was for us really hard to tell from Sarah Hyland’s word salad. Besides, a crush hardly means anything, if she actually feels that way at all. When you work in an industry where you have to endure the pain of being surrounded by beautiful, beautiful, beautiful people (oh, the agony), you’re bound to have a crush or two or a million.

If she does have a crush on Redmayne, we really can’t blame her. Have you seen the guy? Next to Benedict Cumberbatch, he’s probably the dreamiest Brit actor out there.

A few fans were quick to interpret Hyland’s expression of admiration for Redmayne maliciously, but at the end of the day, the actress’ words just mean that the actor played one hell of a physicist on film and that his outstanding performance managed to captivate the hearts of many viewers worldwide — Sarah Hyland’s included.

Honey-Rae was born with a strawberry rose birthmark that covers nearly the entire right half of her body, so her devoted parents decided to tattoo their own legs to replicate the birthmark. Honey-Rae’s mom, Tanya Phillips, says the birthmark is “bright red and it covers almost half of the right side of her body. It stretches from her toes to her lower back. It hasn’t faded with time. In fact, some days it looks darker than others.”

As Honey-Rae grows, so does the birthmark.

And, like any mother, Phillips didn’t want her daughter to feel ostracized, or be marked as different because of her birthmark. She knows that the birthmark doesn’t pose a health risk to Honey-Rae, but says, “Although in our eyes she was perfect, I knew other people would cruelly point and stare at her.”

At first, when Phillips dressed Honey-Rae, she would make sure her legs were covered up in order to avoid strangers’ stares or comments — or sympathy, either.

“I didn’t want sympathy or pity or people feeling sorry for Honey-Rae,” Phillips said of her initial decision to keep her daughter’s birthmark covered.

But then Tanya and husband Adam decided that they “wanted Honey-Rae to feel special, that her birthmark was something to feel proud of and not embarrassed by.”

So last summer, when Honey-Rae was still less than a year old, Tanya dressed her baby in shorts and sandals and went shopping. And it was while Tanya and her baby were in the check-out line that an elderly couple began to stare and whisper.

“I was distraught,” Phillips said. “It was first time I had taken her out without covering her up and it confirmed all my worries and fears. People are cruel without even realizing. And I knew if adults could be that insensitive, then kids at school would also be unintentionally mean.”

It was then that Tanya and Adam decided to be pro-active in their desire to make sure their daughter didn’t feel different or alone.

“We had talked about having duplicate tattoos done for a little while, but that day my mind was made up. We knew we had to do something to ensure Honey-Rae grew up knowing she was very much loved.”

So this last Christmas, Adam Phillips had his leg tattooed first, in a procedure that took two-and-a-half hours. The tattoo stretches down his right leg from his thigh to his toe, and replicates the birthmark on his daughter’s leg.

Tanya says, “It did look red and angry but there was no doubt in either of our minds that it was perfect.”

And this last week, Tanya herself got the birthmark tattoo on her right leg as well, for her 40th birthday.

Tanya and Adam wanted their daughter to know she wasn’t alone.

She shared the special moment she was able to show her new tattoo to Honey-Rae, once the swelling went down.

“I showed Honey-Rae, and she gently touched it and smiled as she said ‘Match,’ pointing to her own leg. If I’d have needed any reassurance that I’d made the right decision, that was it. She now constantly touches mine and Adam’s tattoos then her own birthmark and giggles — I couldn’t be happier.”

Tanya, Adam, and Honey-Rae all now sport matching strawberry rose birthmarks on their right legs, and by getting those tattoos, Honey-Rae’s parents have guaranteed that Honey-Rae will never feel like she is the only one in the world with a birthmark.

“Some people will says it odd and think what we’ve done is quite extreme, but in our eyes all we have done is ensure Honey-Rae never feels different,” Tanya says. “Mummy and Daddy now have the same permanent markings as she does.”

People could now play the game and “live their lives” like a Kardashian.

Given the success of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and the family’s fan base, it isn’t surprising that people want to be like Kim Kardashian. What is surprising is that the game pulled in over $43 million in sales. The app has been installed 23 million times, which is about 5.7 billion minutes of playing the game. Apparently, many fans wanted to climb their way to the top and become A-listers.

According to new tweets, Kim Kardashian apparently loved the success so much that she is now developing a second game. The game is called Kim Kardashian Hollywood Game and will probably follow the same format. This morning, Kim eagerly shared the news and claimed that her fans had been asking for another game to play.

Of course, Kardashian seems to be all about making money these days. Kim and her sisters are working on creating various kinds of products and she has been working non-stop for years. According to the Inquisitr, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West appear to be quite the power couple in various industries. They recently rocked the red carpet together at the Grammy’s. While Kanye is dominating the music industry, Kim is working on the social side with fans. Kardashian will soon be releasing a book that contains pictures of her various selfies throughout the year.

As for Kim Kardashian, it will be interesting to see how well this new game does for her, especially since it is the second game. There are some high expectations given the first game pulled in so much money in sales alone. But it is unknown how many people would actually buy this second game. It will either do really well, or completely crash and burn.

Kim Kardashian Announces New App Game: Claims Fans Asked For It is an article from: The Inquisitr News

A massive 40-vehicle-pileup on a snowy stretch of Interstate 95 has left at least 14 people injured, reports USA Today. According to the report, the 40-vehicle-pileup happened in a location known as Etna, near Bangor, Maine at around 7:30 a.m. local time early Wednesday morning. While there have been no fatalities in the incident, the condition of at least two of the injured individuals is reported to be serious. Most of the injured have been transported to the nearby Eastern Maine Medical Center where they are being treated for their injuries. The hospital has confirmed that it has received 11 patients in its emergency department as of 10 a.m.

The vehicles involved in the 40-vehicle-pileup reportedly include several cars, a tractor trailer and a school bus. It is unclear whether the school bus had children inside it when the pileup occurred. Initial reports however say that there were only three passengers inside the school bus and that all of them escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, local authorities shut down that stretch of Interstate 95. The section is likely to be partially opened for traffic in the next few hours, reports CBS Boston. In the meantime, authorities have asked people to take exits at Etna and Newport respectively to avoid being stuck.

According to state police spokesman Steve McCausland, several emergency personnel had to climb atop a mass of twisted metal in order to rescue people inside it. He described the scene at the site of the 40-vehicle-pileup to be chaotic. One veteran trooper from the state reportedly described the accident site as a “giant pile of metal”. Meanwhile, photos showing the horrific crash have been shared many times over on social media websites like Facebook and Twitter.

While authorities determine the cause of this 40-vehicle-pileup, the primary suspect in the case has already made its presence evident. The weather conditions in Maine remains snowy with forecasters expecting at least five to nine inches of snow in the area today.

This latest 40-vehicle-pileup comes just a few weeks after several other similar incidents were reported from across the U.S. this winter. In January, the Inquisitr had reported about a 150-vehicle-pileup on the Interstate 94, which was preceded by another 18-vehicle-pileup that claimed the lives of three people.

Evgeniy Bogachev is one of the most wanted criminals in America. On Tuesday, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation announced a $3 million award for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the infamous Russian hacker. Bogachev is accused of illegally obtaining bank account numbers and passwords, which were used to steal an estimated $100 million.

Although Evgeniy Bogachev is thought to be living in Russia, authorities confirmed a majority of his victims were residents of the United States.

As discussed by the U.S. Department of State, Bogachev is accused of installing “malicious software on more than one million computers without authorization.”

The malware, called “GameOver Zeus” or “Zeus,” gathered information from victims’ computers, and used that information to gain access to business and personal bank accounts.

Although the malicious software was eventually identified, and Bogachev’s servers were shut down, the Russian hacker stole more than $100 million from his victims’ bank accounts.

As a result, Evgeniy Bogachev is now wanted on federal charges of bank fraud, computer hacking, conspiracy to violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, conspiracy to violate the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act, money laundering, racketeering, and wire fraud.

The Russian hacker is described as a 32-year-old Caucasian male, with brown eyes. Although his hair is also brown, Bogachev usually keeps his head shaved. As reported by the F.B.I., the wanted man is approximately 5’9″ tall and weighs an estimated 180 pounds.

Online, Bogachev has used the monikers “lucky 12345,” Pollingsoon,” and “slavic.” Although his specific whereabouts are unknown, authorities believe he is currently living in Russia. Evgeniy Bogachev owns property in Anapa and Krasndar, Russia. However, he may be on a boat or living in a village along the Black Sea.

Although Bogachev remains one of the United States’ most wanted cyber-criminals, his capture and arrest are unlikely. As the United States and Russia do not have an extradition treaty, Russian officials are not expected to cooperate with the investigation.

Last week, an officer with Anapa’s central police station refused to discuss whether local authorities issued a warrant for Bogachev’s arrest. However, he did say that he would “pin a medal” on the hacker if he could.

Within his community, the Russian hacker is being hailed as a hero. As reported by Telegraph, a former neighbor called Bogachev a “talented guy” who managed to hack into the “enemies’ camp, but did not harm his fellow Russians.”

Taxi driver Vazgen Atanasov has a similar opinion about the wanted man.

“What a great dude. Judging by what Americans do to other people, what Bogachev is said to have done to them serves them right.”

Evgeniy Bogachev will likely evade capture while on Russian soil. However, U.S. authorities are still offering a hefty award for information leading to his arrest.

Days of Our Lives spoilers just got even hotter. A new photo posted on Instagram by the soap’s choreographer, Christy Buss, has everyone talking about the possibility of Hope and Aiden getting married in the near future.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the photo is of Hope and Aiden and the two are wearing very formal clothing. Aiden is in a black tuxedo with a bow tie and Hope is wearing a gorgeous white, flowing strapless dress, but is it her wedding dress?

Buss didn’t reveal much about the photo except that the pair were engaged in a “romantic dance,” which may or may not be at their wedding. It could be just a coincidence that Hope is wearing a white formal dress. However, one thing is for sure. Days of Our Lives films months in advance which means that Hope and Aiden will still be together this summer on the soap.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Hope and Aiden are currently going through a very tough time in their relationship. They had recently gotten very close, and even admitted that they were in love with one another when Hope began to suspect that Aiden may have killed his wife, Meredith.

After a scary situation, Aiden finally admitted to Hope that he didn’t kill his wife, but that his young on, Chase, accidentally shot her when he found her gun and was playing with it. Chase and Meredith struggled and the gun went off, killing his wife, who had been drunk at the time.

Aiden says he covered up the accident and that Chase has no memory of what happened. Hope believed his story, but fans think there could be so much more to the story, which will likely play out over the next few weeks in Salem.

Meanwhile, other Days of Our Lives couples are also having issues. Will and Sonny’s marriage is in jeopardy after Sonny found out that Will had cheated on him with his ex-boyfriend, Paul Norita. JJ is still sleeping with the girl he loves, Paige’s mother, Eve, and the two are in danger of being found out by JJ’s mother, Jennifer, which means all hell will break loose.

Kristen DiMera is on her way back to Salem, which means that Brady Black and Melanie Jonas’ relationship will be tested, and Chad will try hard to come between his ex-girlfriend Abigail and her current boyfriend, Ben.

Several sources have learned that Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 24. After given several tests, it was determined that the singer and actress has a bacterial lung infection, says Us Weekly. She reportedly had “flu-like symptoms” and “difficulty breathing” during the time of her visit.

Lovato’s rep spoke with Us Weekly on Wednesday morning. Her rep says that she’s “feeling much better.” “She returned home soon after her ER visit and is feeling much better today,” Lovato’s rep added.

Demi, 22, was rushed to the emergency room at Providence Tarzana Medical Center in California after having “trouble breathing.” TMZ first reported the story on late Tuesday night. Doctors determined that her symptoms were related to the flu. TMZ also reported that Demi was to remain hospitalized until she fully recovers.

Lovato’s fans, known as “Lovatics,” took to Twitter to show their support for the singer. They included the hashtags #GetWellSoonDemi, which trended worldwide on the social networking site.

According to TMZ, Demi’s health scare comes at a bad time as she’s currently recording her latest album. The new site said she was scheduled to meet with a “big producer” on Tuesday, when she experienced the symptoms and had to be rushed to the emergency room.

Lovato hasn’t taken to Twitter or Instagram to share an update on her condition. Her latest Instagram post includes a selfie in which she blows a kiss to the camera. Lovato wrote, “Snow White ain’t got nothing’ on me…” She revealed the red lipstick from her makeup line, Devonne by Demi.

Demi’s boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama said that he’s looking forward to getting engaged sometime in the future. According to a recent report on The Inquisitr, Wilmer said that he wants to marry the singer one day. Demi, on the other hand, wants to get married as soon as this year.

Lovato also shows love and concern for her fans, including those suffering from mental illness. The Inquisitr also reported that she launched a clothing line called the Hope Dealer Collection. Lovato collaborated with clothing company, Regular Hero, on a line that will help bring awareness and money for mental health.

Demi Lovato has been working tirelessly to become the advocate for mental health and drug addiction. She also scored a major role in the animated film Charming. Some reports have said that Demi’s thinking about getting back into acting. Not to mention, she has a new makeup and skincare line.

Demi Lovato Rushed To ER With ‘Flu-Related Symptoms’ & ‘Breathing Difficulties’ is an article from: The Inquisitr News

Last year six men, aged 18 to 30, were murdered in Kraaifontein, South Africa and apparently their private parts were removed. Now the families of the dead are demanding the return of their penises so that their remains are intact.

Apparently the six men were killed by a mob in a justice attack, because they allegedly committed theft. However, the families of the dead now believe they were killed for their missing appendages.

The six victims were found on a farm close by in December last year. According to Eyewitness News, they were seen to have been stoned and stabbed to death and their bodies were found face down and hog-tied.

Members of the victims’ families only revealed on Tuesday this week that during the brutal attack, their family members had been mutilated and their penises had been chopped off.

According to IOL, in December last year, 17 suspects were arrested in connection with the murders and they appeared in court on Tuesday this week on a bail application. The various family members of the victims and other local residents attended the bail hearing, demanding the suspects remain in jail. Chants were heard in the courtroom of “no bail, no bail.”

Madimpho Masiu, 30, is the sister of one of the victims, Lulama Dunga. She said that should the suspects get bail, they will continue killing. However, she does want to know why they mutilated their family members.

She added that maybe their wanted the victims’ body parts for “ukuthwala,” a type of “get rich quick” ritual in South Africa and said that the family wants the body parts returned.

“Our ancestors want his body in full so they can welcome him.”

Speaking on behalf of the other families, Madimpho said they cannot understand why the six men were murdered so brutally. Rumors were that the men had stolen money or other items but the families don’t believe that. Madimpho is now convinced the killing was for the men’s penises.

“We were then told they stole stokvel [savings] money. We do not know which is which, leading us to conclude that they were killed for those missing penises.”

Nofomile Ngxabela, 54, lost her two sons in the killing and says their penises were also removed. She is worried that the accused will kill them if they are released on bail but is demanding the return of their body parts.

Ngxabela said the families want the suspects to tell them where their son’s penises are, so they can bury them properly in line with tradition in South Africa.

“Black culture dictates that someone be buried with his body intact.”

The bail hearing was held over until Friday, February 27^th as apparently lawyers for the 17 suspects were not prepared to proceed.

Derick and Jill attended an Oklahoma State University women’s basketball game last weekend and shared a photo via Instagram. The 19 Kids couple is dressed in OSU colors and they are standing with some of the ladies from the team. Of course Jill Duggar’s baby bump, which is nearing the 36-week mark now, is prominently featured. The basketball players standing with the couple decided to have a bit of fun, using their basketballs to create fake matching baby bumps.

As is the case with nearly any post of Jill’s on Instagram, the photo generated more than 25,000 “likes” almost instantly. If fans go this crazy over a post now, most 19 Kids fans can only imagine how enthusiastic everybody will be when “Baby Dilly” arrives. The last official baby bump picture, shared about a week ago, showed Jill officially at the 35-week mark.

Jill and Derick have talked about how they’re preparing for the baby’s birth, noting that they have a team of midwives ready and Jill’s sister Jana will be present too. Other family members are ready to run errands and help in whatever way is needed. The Dillards have revealed that they’re expecting a baby boy, and according to the Duggar Family Blog, his due date is March 24.

19 Kids and Counting fans have been thrilled to get the opportunity to follow along with Derick and Jill’s pregnancy in this new season airing Tuesday nights on TLC. The premiere showed the newlyweds sharing the news with family and there will be a lot of other great tidbits ahead.

The new season also features Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald planning their wedding, with the big walk down the aisle just ahead. Jessa and Ben got married on November 1 and fans are thrilled they get to watch it all come together during this new season.

Zelda Williams, the daughter of late actor Robin Williams, has opened up about her father’s legacy.

In a recent interview with Kate Snow from the Today show, the 25-year-old actress had a chance to discuss her father’s legacy six months after his suicide.

“I think it was important for him for people to talk about important things. It meant a lot to him. He didn’t like people feeling like the things that were hard for them, they should go through alone. And I think that’s the big legacy for him…that he somehow had an enormous number of people in this world who felt that he made them feel a little less alone.”

Zelda also mentioned that she and her brothers are working to carry on that legacy on behalf of their deceased father. Us Weekly reports that Zelda is presenting the “Noble Award” to honor Robin Williams’ humanitarian work with the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Zelda also paid tribute to her father by having a hummingbird tattoo permanently inked on her hand. Zelda claims that a hummingbird was chosen due to its “fun and flighty and strange” behavior – something that the bird and her father apparently had in common.

Instead of seeking answers for the many questions surrounding her father’s suicide, Zelda Williams has decided to focus on celebrating and appreciating Robin’s life. In the interview with Kate Snow, Zelda mentions that there is “no point” in doing anything else – such as questioning or blaming others for his death.

“There’s no point questioning it and no point blaming anyone else for it, and there’s no point blaming yourself or the world or whatever the case may be, because it happened, so you have to continue to…live and manage.”

Zelda further expressed that people should remember her father however they want to remember him. She reflected on the memorable roles and characters that her father had a chance to play over the years, which have been used over the past six months as a way to honor and pay tribute to his memory.

More importantly, Zelda is happy with the memories that she has of her father and has chosen to cherish them. In her own words, Zelda is just happy that Robin Williams is being remembered in general.

As to her own life, Zelda Williams admits that she wants to have the fun and happy life that she once had in the past. She is working hard to allow herself to get it back.

ISIS continues it’s terror campaign and is now holding up to 262 Christian hostages in Syria, according to reports from activist.

The brutal group raided cities in northeastern Syria in the last few days and took away hundreds of Assyrian Christians captive. Included are women and children, the reports indicate.

The situation for the hostages is dire, if past behavior by ISIS is any indication and their fates are uncertain at this time. Experts in the west believe the terrorists will use the Christians for propaganda purposes or in an attempt to get funding to continue their reign of horror.

A few weeks ago, ISIS staged a video depicting the mass beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in what they said was a beach in Libya. Later on, experts believed the video was staged and altered for maximum impact.

It has become apparent, that the terrorist group is targeting religious minorities in the area, specifically Christians, but Muslims who don’t accept their rule are also victims of their brutality. Osama Edward, founder of the Assyrian Human Rights Network, claims ISIS has taken 262 Christians captive and is begging for help from the west.

“ISIS is taking over more and more Assyrian towns,” Edward told CNN of information he is reportedly getting from people on the ground.

When news broke of the ISIS mass kidnapping the numbers stood at between 70 and 100 hostages, however, those figures have increased in the following days with some estimating it could be almost 1,000 people. In a statement Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimates the number of Assyrian Christian hostages taken over three days of attacks to be at 220.

The Assyrians date back some 4,000 years to Mesopotamia and have historically been an integral part of Syria and predominantly Christians. Despite being targeted by ISIS, some have taken up arms against the terrorist group to defend their families and are fighting alongside the Kurdish resistance, which has been having some success in pushing back the group in recent weeks.

Leaders in the region believe their very existence is being threatened and are asking for help — in the form of arms for Kurdish forces — from America and its allies. However, Reuters reports that the U.S. led coalition fighting ISIS carried out airstrikes on Thursday, in response to the mass abduction of the Assyrian Christians.

A prominent Syrian Christian, Bassam Ishak told the news agency families are desperate to contact loved ones they believe have been abducted by ISIS.

“Some people have tried to call them by cellphone, the relatives that have been abducted, and they get an answer from a member of ISIS who tells that they will send the head of their relative.”

“They are trying to terrorize the parents, the relatives in the Christian Assyrian community.”

Reports of ISIS atrocities against their captives include the now famous beheadings, burning alive of hostages — such as was the case with the Jordanian pilot –, selling young girls into sex slavery, raping of girls as young as eight-years-old, training young boys to become terrorists and other unspeakable methods. With the kidnapping of the Assyrian Christians, ISIS continues the push to establish their ruthless Caliphate in the region.

It was speculated for over a week now, but it appears that WWE has now done what many thought they would not. TNA Wrestling star Samoa Joe recently left the organization and has picked up a lot of Independent dates. It is unknown if he has any sort of no-compete clause with WWE involved or not, but WWE is not seemingly waiting to find out.

According to F4Wonline, WWE has offered Samoa Joe a WWE contract. The issue is that no details are currently out to go off of. It is uncertain how much they are offering or the length. We also do not know if WWE would want him to work in WWE NXT or jump to the main roster. However, WWE Talent Relations head Triple H is a huge fan of Joe’s and has wanted him in WWE for some time.

The only issue he ran into was that Joe was always with TNA, so there was no way he could ever bring him in. WWE never truly gave an offer to former TNA stud AJ Styles, but that was due to Triple H not caring a ton about him. Whereas Samoa Joe is another case entirely. Many WWE Superstars love Joe’s work and feel he deserves to be with WWE.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Mick Foley, and WWE NXT star Finn Balor have all expressed love for Samoa Joe online and have touted him up as being awesome. We all know Joe is a great talent who has a history of fantastic matches. The interesting thing is, WWE has never really offered a contract to a 35 year old man who has never been with WWE in the past outside of fluff matches.

Joe has worked with WWE in the past, but only in enhancement matches. This was years ago as well, so they are far before he became the stud talent we know today.

Since Triple H is a fan of his, there was an assumption that WWE would send an offer Joe’s way. However, many did speculate they would not because of Joe’s age and impact put on his body. However, it seems that Triple H wants to use up Joe’s final wrestling years in WWE where he feels Joe belongs.

Samoa Joe is currently signed on to work with Ring of Honor for a while, so we may not see Joe in WWE until after WrestleMania season is over anyway. Joe is getting a lot of offers from Independent companies across the world, so he is not hurting for work right now. It comes down to the idea of if Joe would want to work with WWE as a final dream job or if he is happy with working the Indy scene for the remainder of his career. Many think he has a lot of years left in the tank and he would be an excellent addition to WWE. Triple H thinks so as well, but we will have to see if Joe takes this deal up or not.

Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham’s dad, Michael, isn’t bothered by her 2013 sex tape, Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom.

During Abraham’s MTV special, Getting To Know Farrah, Abraham sat down with her parents, Michael and Debra Danielson, and watched previous episodes of Teen Mom. While chatting, Michael was heard discussing his daughter’s racy video, and defending her choices to enter the world of adult entertainment.

Below is what he said about the film, according to a February 26 report by Wetpaint Entertainment:

“Bottom line, I know that she doesn’t wh*re or anything else. My daughter did not sell her body. She sold the rights to a video.”

After she wrapped filming on Teen Mom‘s fourth season in 2012, Abraham kept a low profile for a few months. Then, in early 2013, reports of a possible sex tape hit the web. By May, Vivid Entertainment had purchased the rights to the film, which also starred porn star James Deen, and began selling the video online and in stores. Once her tape was published, the Teen Mom star went on tour to promote it, traveling the country and appearing in nightclubs and gentleman’s bars. Abraham then began writing a series of erotic novels and launched a line of sex toys.

While Abraham’s gig on Teen Mom seemed all but over, it was announced by Us Weekly last month that she would take part in the upcoming Teen Mom OG series, along with her former co-stars, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood.

Also in the Wetpaint Entertainment report, Abraham’s thoughts on her daughter’s future being impacted by her sex tape were revealed.

“I know how to be a parent, and I know how to separate those things. She doesn’t even see those things. Those things are not relevant, and I think how the world is perceiving that, and judging it, and making it out to be is wrong.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Teen Mom also spoke about her issues with her mother during Getting to Know Farrah. In one particular scene, Abraham was seen telling her mother that her behavior on the show made her want to act out.

“I feel like beating the s**t out of you just watching that.”

The Teen Mom also called her mother, Debra, a “hillbilly out of control.”

In 1996, a six-year-old girl was found strangled and beaten to death in the basement of her parents home. Her name was JonBenét Ramsey and the news of her murder quickly moved beyond the local scene. Why? She was a child beauty queen, there was the bizarre ransom note, her parents were wealthy and quickly became uncooperative with the police. Add allegations of police incompetence, a corrupt D.A. and suspicions that the parents or her brother could be the killer, the murder mystery soon dominated the tabloids across the nation, gaining attention world-wide. Regardless of intrigue and publicity, the killer was never found.

Years have passed since JonBenét Ramsey died. Last Saturday, Former Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner gave an candid interview on Reddit regarding the JonBenét Ramsey case. He voluntarily participated in the question and answer session regarding unresolved mysteries but quickly regretted his decision as the chat went viral. As reported in the Boulder Daily Camera, Beckner explained that he had made a mistake.

“I talked to the organizer and my impression was that this was a members-only type group that talked about unsolved mysteries all around the world,” Beckner said of the Saturday Q&A, which garnered more than 600 comments.

“In fact, they had to give me a password to get in,” he said. “I didn’t know it was an open-architecture type thing, or I wouldn’t have done it. It was a misunderstanding and naivete on my part.

“I’ve tried to put the media attention behind me.”

With the resurgence of interest in the contents of the chat, Beckner’s comments have since been deleted as of Wednesday. Beckner left one comment on the website:

“This will be my last post, but after reading some of the follow-up posts, I believe there may have been some misinterpretation of some of my comments or ‘reading between the lines.’ I want to emphasize that I do not fully know what happened that night or who killed JonBenét, as some have surmised. If anyone did, this would not be a mystery. This is why I do not speculate. I simply answered questions as truthfully as possible and only on things that have already been reported. Dismissing the intruder evidence is a mistake and as I emphasized in an earlier post, the location of the foreign DNA is significant. This could very likely be the person who killed JonBenét. However, we will not be sure until and if they find out who it belongs to. And, just because we can not prove a point of entry, doesn’t mean someone didn’t find a way to get in. Just as I believe we can not exonerate on one piece of evidence, neither can we ignore evidence. Finally, everyone is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Thanks again.”

The comments made by Beckner were taken down early Wednesday morning after his interview expressing his regret over the Reddit chat with the Boulder Daily Camera was published the day before. However, KMGH News and the Boulder Daily Camera were able to save some of the original comments before they were deleted. Here are a couple excerpts reported by KMGH from the Beckner interview on Reddit.

Beckner: I certainly wish we could have gone to trial. However, the standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt is hard to overcome when you have some foreign DNA that cannot be explained. If we were to find the source of this trace DNA, we would have an explanation, regardless of which way it pointed. When you are talking about small traces of DNA, there can be several explanations and various ways it could have been transferred. Without identifying who it belongs to, we can only theorize the source of the DNA and how it got there. Without this trace DNA, I believe the prosecutors would have moved forward. It is interesting that apparently the grand jury jurors did not find the DNA reason enough not to find probable cause. Personally, I believe if the source is ever found, we will discover that there is an explanation other than belonging to the murderer. There are others, such as ex-DA Mary Lacy who believe the DNA has to be that of the murderer.

Reddit Question:

What do you believe actually happened to JonBenét? Who do you think is responsible?

Beckner: We know from the evidence she was hit in the head very hard with an unknown object, possibly a flashlight or similar type item. The blow knocked her into deep unconsciousness, which could have led someone to believe she was dead. The strangulation came 45 minutes to two hours after the head strike, based on the swelling on the brain. While the head wound would have eventually killed her, the strangulation actually did kill her. The rest of the scene we believe was staged, including the vaginal trauma, to make it look like a kidnapping/assault gone bad. I have avoided saying who I believe is responsible and let the facts speak for themselves. There are several viable theories.

Is there something you wish had been done differently from the start of the investigation that perhaps could have yielded a conviction?

Beckner: Not me personally, as I did not get involved until September 1997, about 9 months after the murder. I was brought on to try to get the investigation back on course, which I think we did a pretty good job of once we got some DAs involved who worked with us rather than against us. As for the police department in general, I wish we would have done a much better job of securing and controlling the crime scene on day one. We also should have separated John and Patsy and gotten full statements from them that day. Letting them go was a big mistake, as they soon lawyered up and we did not get to formally interview them again until May of 1997, five months after their daughter was murdered. Had the police found the body early on, as they should have, I believe the initial course of the investigation would have gone differently, but who really knows at this point. We also did a poor job of protecting the crime scene. It was sort of like a perfect storm that day that set things off in the wrong direction. It was and still is the only case of its kind as far as we or the FBI knows of, so its not like anyone had experience with this sort of thing either.

The Boulder Daily Camera offered these examples of the deleted transcript.

The distance between the two marks did not match the probes of any stun gun we found. Stun guns are loud and hurt like crazy — which would have probably elicited some screaming. That probably would have woke someone up.”.

The Denver Broncos are rumored to be working on a deal to re-structure Peyton Manning’s contract to give the team more cushion in cap space, but there is still a chance that the two could part ways if an agreement isn’t reached.

This week, a source close to the team said that Manning’s agent has been working with the Broncos on a new deal. He is set to make $19 million in each of the next two years, with a cap hit of $21.2 million next year. For John Elway and the Broncos, that number is too high, the sources say.

The Broncos will have other pressing needs. The team is likely to lose both Wes Welker and Julius Thomas in free agency, leaving a hole in the offense that would take more money to fill.

As Arnie Stapleton of the Globe and Mail pointed out, the Broncos are already tight on cap space:

The Broncos figure to have about $27-million to work with under the projected $148-million salary cap in 2015, but a franchise tag for star receiver Demaryius Thomas next week would eat up about half of that figure. Placing the franchise tag on Thomas would buy them some time to negotiate a long-term deal. They did that with kicker Matt Prater and blindside protector Ryan Clady.

But if negotiations don’t go well, there are rumors that the Denver Broncos could move on from Peyton Manning. The All Pro quarterback has a physical coming up on March 5, and if the team is ready to go in a new direction they may use that as an excuse to let him go, noted Bleacher Report‘s Jason Cole.

“At this point in his career, the Broncos could fail Peyton Manning for any reason, including the four neck surgeries that he has already had,” he said Tuesday in a video on Bleacher Report. “In talking to sources close to the team, there’s a big question here about whether the Broncos want to bring him back for one more year. They’re going to have to feel very comfortable about this.”

If the rumors of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos parting ways comes true, it appears it won’t be the quarterback’s doing. After spending several weeks this offseason determining if he wanted to play another year, he reportedly let the team know that he’s ready to play again in 2015.

Denver Broncos Rumors: Team Working On New Contract For Peyton Manning, May Cut Him If Deal Can’t Be Reached is an article from: The Inquisitr News

For the first time, scientists have observed the act of direct reciprocation in the animal kingdom. Rats, scientists claim, note and remember acts of kindness bestowed upon them by other acts and even treat their benefactors accordingly.

Rats have earlier proven themselves to be great at trading stocks. They accomplished the feat by observing and remembering patterns. Similarly, a newly conducted observational study proved that rats not only remember who has been good to them, they will return the favor too. In experiments, Norwegian rats were most helpful to individuals that had previously helped them. At the onset, scientists hypothesized the behavior could be an attempt to ensure future assistance or favors.

Rats have been known to cooperate and assist one another for quite some time, but rewarding another rat for no immediate gain was never observed. In fact, a rat rewarding a fellow rat for help—an act called direct reciprocation—is certainly a first among non-humans, shared study co-author Michael Taborsky, a behavioral ecologist at the University of Bern in Switzerland.

The study was based on the behavior of female captive Norwegian rats. Scientists knew these rats tolerated carrots, but enjoyed bananas. In the experiment, each of a pair of rat helpers could deliver one of these tidbits to a rat in another enclosure by pulling on a stick. Eventually, the receiving rat recognized each helper as either a high-quality helper (if it delivered bananas) or a low-quality helper (if it delivered carrots).

When their places were switched, the rats that had been given bananas, generally received food far more quickly and more often than their carrot-giving colleagues. Similarly, those who had dished-out carrots got food much less often than those who served bananas.

Though researchers admit more study is required to truly establish if rats really were rewarding helpers for their generosity, Researcher Taborsky maintains rats are making a simple association,

“Two elements are involved: recognizing an individual, and responding to the quality of service. The latter is evident from previously known behavior—rats will flock to good feeding spots, for example. And recognition is widely documented in many species, including rats.”

Since Norwegian rats exchange favors, a desire to reward others—and perhaps to ensure more exchanges in the future—”might not be as complex as we think,” points out Taborsky.

However, a few scientists, including Thomas Zentall feel that the rats may have simply associated the “helper” with the preferred food. But Taborsky argues this isn’t the case, since it’s known that rats can tell they’re delivering food to another rat, not themselves.

Rats have proven their smartness on many occasions. Hence their ability to sense an opportunity to please someone in expectation of favors in the future might not be a farfetched notion.

They say that God works in mysterious ways, but this latest appearance of Jesus Christ is so much more than that.

A Texas man has claimed that the one and only Jesus Christ has miraculously appeared to him…on a tortilla.

Andrew Key, the Austin, Texas resident who was graced with Jesus’ presence, first noticed Christ on his almond tortilla back in December. Key had picked up some of his special made tortillas from a friend when he noticed a very special burn mark on one of them.

According to the news station, KXAN, Key stated, “One of the minor burn marks on the tortilla takes the appearance of Jesus’ head, complete with his facial hair.”

Despite having the divine experience of seeing Jesus Christ on a tortilla, Key has decided to sell this holy tortilla on Ebay. As part of the ad, Key describes the tortilla as “an almond flour tortilla that has the face of Jesus burned into it.”

Key has asked for a starting bid of $15 and has noted at the bottom of his ad that “half of sale price goes to Austin based initiative to feed people struggling to make ends meet.”

Not wanting to get in a bidding war with another hungry Christian for the Jesus tortilla? Feel free to skip all the bidding and lay down an easy $10,000 to make this tortilla all your own.

So is it for real? Has Jesus really appeared on a tortilla? Would anyone really be willing to buy it?

While it has gotten two bids at this time, people just don’t buy that it’s Jesus appearing on a tortilla.

According to My San Antonio, people are commenting that the figure on the tortilla looks less like Jesus and more like Barry Gibb, from BeeGees. Other people are commenting how the burn mark looks like Chuck Norris or even The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia.

One person even commented, “I don’t get how anyone thinks this is Jesus. It’s clearly The Dude from The Big Lebowski.”

While some people are quick to make jokes about the possibility of Jesus Christ appearing on an almond flour tortilla, it’s up to you to decide if you think it really is Jesus or not.

As the Inquisitr reported, watching perfectionist Madge (as the British dub her) as she takes a spill is somewhat shocking; a moment out of time. This shouldn’t happen to her, you think, especially when she’s surrounded by her peers. It’s happened to other celebrities, certainly, including Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lawrence, but surely it shouldn’t happen on a night that saw Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith take home two BRIT awards a piece, and Taylor Swift entertain with her signature dance moves both onstage and off, as Yahoo! Celebrity reports. What cosmic mishap happened then, that saw to it that the woman of pop superstardom – the singer who brought to us “Like A Virgin” all those years ago – take a spill in front of thousands?

Perhaps it is merely a costume fault, or perhaps it is precisely because Madonna’s hit song was so many years ago. As Yahoo! Celebrity reported also, only a week or so ago the UK’s BBC Radio 1 had to issue a denial that Madonna’s music had been “banned” due to the star being “old and irrelevant”.

Since the world watched her take a spill last night, some have insinuated that age might have caught up with the singer after all, while others were more sympathetic. Portland Press Herald reports that Madonna messaged her fans on Instagram afterwards, thanking those who had shown immediate support after seeing the star take a spill.

“My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine!”

Whatever the reason, hopefully neither Madge’s body nor character were too badly bruised after taking a spill. Publicity-wise, she couldn’t have asked for more coverage!
